First, you have to understand that Zero Celsius is a pro shop and NOT a discount equipment warehouse. If you want knowledgeable, friendly staff that are willing to spend the time to help you make the best purchase possible then come here. If you like real customer service from professionals that take the time to learn your name then come here. If you are looking for the lowest possible price then check online. But remember: You get what you pay for. I bought my über awesome Easton skates from a Giant Hockey(I’m so clever) online retailer at an insanely amazing price only to have them hurt my feet so badly I could barely walk after skating in them. I asked a friend, who owned the same make/model for over a year, how long it took him to break his skates in and he replied, «I’ll let you know when it happens!». I tell you this because IF I had gone to Zero Celsius they would have told me about how stiff the boot was before I bought them. They always give honest information even at the expense of making a pricier sale –because they have to look you in the eye next time you come in. Epilogue to the Easton skates story, I was in physical anguish attempting to break the skates in at a free skate when I couldn’t take it anymore. I went into Zero Celsius and bought a pair of used Bauer skates, as a back up to the Eastons, and I have been wearing the Bauer skates ever since(two years ago).

I was looking for a great pro shop with a wide selection so I could buy figure skates for my 6 year old, and new hockey gear for myself. I’d never been to the Valencia ice rink before, so I was surprised when my husband took us there to go to their pro shop, Zero Celsius. This place really exceeded my expectations on every level. I got both mine and my daughter’s skates on sale, and had different brands and levels to choose from. I also got a helmet with a cage and gloves at a good price, and was really happy with the advice and product knowledge the guys there had. If I’d been in the market for a stick, they had a huge selection and that goes for every kind of hockey gear, plus everything you can think of for figure skaters, too. They sharpened the skates and did a solid job with that, too. I’ll definitely be back to buy there again, for sure.
