Lighthouse Learning Center

Enrolled my daughter for the first time this summer. Seeing the previous reviews, I was concerned if this would be a good fit. I even communicated my concerns to the owner. After a month into it, my daughter LOVES every single day. Their days are full of fun activities. They use an app called, «Remind», which automatically sends me a text on any updates. So I’ve been well informed when they leave for field trips, when and where they eat lunch, group pictures, and when they start heading back to Lighthouse. I’m loving this tool, as a parent who wants to be kept well informed. She also works on IXL to keep her academics up, and it sends me an email with her performance. The owner and staff are all nice and accommodating. I’ll most definitely sign up my daughter every summer for the next few years.

We enrolled our boys at that beginning of summer, into their summer program paying up front in full for all services to be rendered. And was not given a receipt until 2 weeks after asking continuously to have one. And was informed that it was emailed to me on 2 different occasions, but did not receive for whatever reason. We did their open house, and like many concerned parents we had a lot of questions. One being, one of our sons was a little behind on his reading and writing. He needed more practice. We asked if we provided the materials, could someone work with him on this??? We were told yes! Our boys started about 2 –3 weeks before their summer program was in effect. During these two weeks we experience a lot of bad communication skills, of not being informed about changes made to schedule either on our part or theirs. Also remember the books we asked them to work on with our children … Well, no one really helped them with … actually, we spent money on purchasing it with good intentions for children. And it would come back in scribbled in and colored on because my children didn’t know what they was doing and said no one helped them. I’m thinking isn’t this place is called a learning center? … After voicing my concerns on these issues … I started seeing and feeling a change within the staff members … Over hearing comments made about my children and generally just being treated different, and wondered if my children are feeling the same? I still am not as confident as before when dropping off my children. But praying for the best! Our children our still enrolled here at the time being because we are paid up for about three more weeks. But as for returning here for next summer … Unless changes are made … I’m thinking not … Very disappointed, because I really believe that this could be a great place. P. S. We was told from 7:45 — 6:15pm !!! In the morning dropping off my kids … the staff still looking like they just woke up (grumpy) and when picking them up at 6:00 — 6:15 staff looking fed up and making comments under their breath like (they finally picked them up?) Its just not professional! Anyways just sharing my family experience so far. Good luck, everyone is entitled to their own experience, and maybe god willing … It will be better than ours :):)

Growing tired of the pre and post care at school, decided to give this place a try over the summer.
While the kids have fun with field trips, a large trampoline, a bouncy and a bank of computers to play on, there are a ton of educational aspects as well. Their «enrichment» classes are chess, origami and art. They do math, science and reading to make sure their brains don’t go to mush.
Once school starts back there is pick up from school to their center where they do homework! Yes, when you pick them up no fighting about what assignment needs to be completed or how they are too tired for that next math problem. And when you compare it to the rates against the public schools after school programs, it’s actually right in line.
There is also private tutoring, SAT classes and lots of other educational stuff. Run by a Dr (not the medial kind) this is the place to turn your little maniac into a brainiac!
