My husband and I take our son to the farmer’s market every Saturday. We love buying the local organic produce, yummy bakery items from Natty Cakes, and awesome donuts from Big Bob’s Mini Donuts. Everyone’s really friendly and the atmosphere is really nice too.

I do love a Farmer’s Market on a Saturday morning. While small in comparison to the local markets, the Vacaville Farmer’s Market has a nice assortment of fruits, vegetables and assorted vendors. In addition to the fresh fruits and vegetables there is a gentleman who sells an assortment of flowers, jewelry, Indian flat bread and kettle corn. Dogs are not allowed.

Just took a quick stroll through this tiny farmers market(tiny compared to the bay area standards like San Carlos, Campbell or Oakland) and I could find the usual stuff(great veggies, have not seen any eggs or meat though). I would recommend it for veggies and fruits mainly, when you crave high-quality(read expensive) meat and eggs, go to Oakland or Campbell. I loved that this market had a tent in which you could ask questions about gardening and get some good tips and tricks for your garden. Green thumbs up !

My bf and I have our Saturday morning breakfast burritos every week from Fiesta del sol. The homemade enchilada sauce is amazing and the strawberry fresca is so refreshing. The market is small but has everything you need from small farm eggs, fresh local chicken and beef to organic veggies. Shooting star is my favorite stand with the most beautiful, organic produce that money can buy.

Not sure why this farmer’s market is offering less and less produce every year. Pretty disappointing :(

I come here for the food :) I’ve tried a few of the food stands: Big Bob’s Mini Donuts, Fiesta del Sol, and Kettlepop. Big Bob’s Mini Donuts: Really good! Definitely get the sugar ones, tastier than the plain :) Pay a little extra for the vanilla dip to dunk them in — makes it taste even better! The guy working the stand(Bob?) threw in more than just a half dozen in each bag which I thought was pretty cool! Fiesta del Sol: It’s all about their agua fresca! So refreshing and flavorful! Choice of two flavors: strawberry and watermelon. Both are good but I’m a watermelon girl and their watermelon agua fresca is delicious! One size, $ 2.50. Best $ 2.50 you’ll spend at this farmer’s market! Kettlepop: The cheddar flavor is quite tasty but it only comes in the small size and is more expensive than the regular flavor.($ 6 for a small bag!) And there were too many inedible hard kernels in the bag :(Quite disappointing especially since the flavor is pretty good! Come here for the food but check out the other vendors as well! Great way to spend a Saturday morning :)

It’s decent, as far as farmer’s markets go. The selection isn’t too wide, but there’s a lot of good produce. Usually a couple local bakeries, a booth for the master gardeners, a meat stand, a couple of produce stands, local honey, a crazy cat lady table, and that’s about it. Maybe I’m not used to shopping seasonal foods and that’s why the selection seemed small. It’s quite pricey too, but of course you get what you pay for — it’s locally grown, organic, sometimes pesticide-free, etc. I haven’t noticed a significant difference in the taste. It’s fun to visit if you’re awake and nearby, but I wouldn’t recommend going out of your way for it.

Nice atmosphere. Good music. Fruit is kind of pricey but it’s all organic. Good baked goods!
