Tony’s Restaurant

If your looking for trendy and ambiance this is not the place for you. If your looking for a place that makes you feel like you just walked in your moms or your favorite aunt’s house where the food is great, this is the place. Large menu with all day breakfast, real mashed potatoes with the prime rib. There are times for fancy high end restaurants, but this is comfort food and down home cooking at its best.

I’ve been a frequent visitor to Tony’s for years and loved their food. My favorite was the steak flat bread sandwich. Things have changed. It used to be made with real strips of steak. Not any more. The last time I had it the meat looked like what I think beef bacon would look like. Poor quality and bad taste. The flat bread, onions, peppers and mushrooms were as good as ever but the meat did not taste good at all. I don’t think I will be back and it is a shame because I would love to support a locally owned business. Can’t do it when the meat tastes so bad. Sorry.

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised when we went to breakfast on Sunday. I anticipated a mediocre meal, but instead, the food was hot, fresh and quite good. I ordered Country Benedict and my husband ordered Country Fried Steak. The food temperature was perfect. The home fries were hot and crispy and the eggs were cooked exactly as we wanted them. Service was good, too. We tipped both the server and the cook.

This was our 4^th visit in about as many months and for the first time everything was not perfect, otherwise they’d get 5 stars.
Our server Mary Ann was excellent. She got our order right away and food was ready pretty quickly. That wasn;t necessarily a plus this time, however. We always order our hash browns crispy and this is the best restaurant at getting our orders right. This time the browns were underdone and even Mary Ann commented that she put crispy on the tag and would we like to send it back/​? That stood out because most servers don’t even notice mistakes, let alone call attention to them.
My only other gripe is the coffee. Very weak. I didn’t think anything could be done to rectify it I was right. They use those pouches or some such crap and there is no way to adjust it. I can’t believe I’m the only one who’s ever noticed the watery quality it possesses.
The coffee will make me think twice about going back only because I love coffee in the morn and will not drink flavorless dreck.
Oh, one more thing… a buy one get one coupon that is only good for up to $ 6 and requires you purchase 2 drinks that add up to $ 5.50 should just say «Buy two meals, get two drinks free».

We don’t live nearby, but try to stop anytime we are going to Sacramento. Great food, friendly service & decent prices. Hard to beat.

Okay, I admit it… we came here because there was no where else to go on Father’s Day. Pleasantly surprised. Breakfast was awesome! The place had about 20 people when we came and a couple waitresses. By the time we finished, place was packed and more help had shown up. They were kicking butt taking care of everyone and getting the food out. Hopefully the big crowd will continue and Vacaville can support this local business. Décor does need major help. Had fall theme going in the middle of summer.

Went here for breakfast and we waited forever for our waitress to take our order, deliver our drinks, and eventually deliver our food. Upon arrival it looked delicious until we took our first bites — cold, not even a little warm. Our waitress seemed VERY overwhelmed and was not able to keep up. She even waited on tables that had just arrived before getting the orders from earlier customers.

This is a great local diner style restaurant. Huge menu with lots of great choices. The service was friendly and efficient and the food was awesome. I had the «tony burger» it was huge and tasted fantastic. The fries were also top notch. Great soups as well.
In my honest opinion Tony’s is vastly superior to the near by Black Bear Diner. It’s not even a close competition and you get to support a great local business. Overall, just in case I hadn’t made it clear, this place is fantastic and you should definitely check it out.

Poor service, half of our meals delivered after an hour wait… cold food… waitress kept bringing other peoples orders to our table coffee never refilled. Asked to speak to manager (owner manager) said to waitress «I dont want to hear it» we heard her day it. When we confronted her, attitude was like oh well. Under staffed. This was our third attempt there. Darn I miss Lyons!

Excellent food, chicken fried steak and eggs! Great service, friendly, quick and on top of the coffee! It’s too bad Black Bear is right next door, people are missing out on better and better price!

Lets face it… Ya brought in a 2 fer 1 coupon and expected «Top Of The Mark» food…
These are hard working very nice people who are trying to keep an alternative to «Black Bear» alive and kicking here in Vacaville…
I personally love this restaurant. And have enjoyed many a meal here…
It just really galls me when cheapskates who get 2 breakfasts for less than 20 bucks slam the place!

Elisa catered to my 21 birthday a couple of years ago and I was satisfied for how big our party was. She also lets you do your thing if you want to decorate :) I’ve also been here when she hired a mariachi band and did a Mexican theme, with authentic Mexican food. Elisa also aims to please all her customers. She remembers a lot of people and treats everyone like family! Elisa and the staff can also handle a big crowd. It maybe a small place but it’s GOOD quality food, I wish I still lived there. Elisa also catered to a huge event at the bingo hall on New Years and asked me to rock her catering service with her! Good memories with such a great business! Keep striving for the best! Thanks for being a great person and holding up a great business the can provide awesome customer service! Lol age before beauty :)

Good food, need more help. Very crowed and long wait at table for service and then long wait after ordering. Clean, friendly.

My family and I love this restaurant. While the décor may be outdated, I can’t agree with disliking a restaurant based on the way it looks. The staff is very friendly and prompt, and I have never had a complaint about the food. I tried to introduce as many as possible to this restaurant because I don’t feel that it gets the publicity it deserves.

This place was not good. The hostess and waitress were nice but the restaurant looked really outdated and the food was blah. We had to hunt down our own silverware and I was given a moldy orange with my breakfast.

I love Tony’s. They have great food. They give you good portions for a reasonable price. It looks like a diner inside, and it’s in an old parking lot. From the outside it doesn’t look like much, but in this case looks are deceiving. I’m glad I found it.

Terrible. Took forever and when we got our food it was cold and greasy. Save yourself and just go to Black Bear. Reminds me of a funeral home inside! Lol

The best part about Tony’s is that it’s in prime position to handle overflow crowds from the nearby Black Bear Diner. That’s how we ended up there for Sunday breakfast recently.
It’s an old, beat-​up place in the back of a parking lot, right alongside I-​80, so everybody passing through sees the sign. That’s how we knew where it was.
Breakfast was just ok and the serivce, while friendly, was lacking. We had a 25 minute wait for our food in a restaurant that was about half-​full. Folks seated later than us were eating sooner. They got my order wrong, somehow preparing my omelette with Swiss without the cheese. Also, they delivered a «toasted» English muffin that seemed to have come straight out of the package and was slathered with room-​temperature butter that wasn’t melting any time soon.
If I had it to do over again I would wait it out over at the Bear.

I love the Orental chicken salid. made for a meal.

So breakfast was served all day and I was in the mood for breakfast for dinner. The waitress quickly came, took my order and left. Food arrived quickly and that was that. No questions asked, no refill on my drink, nothing, until it was time for the bill. The price was decent, but the food could have been better. This looks like a nice place for the elderly to go for a brunch after sunday church services. It was pretty quiet in there with a parking lot set back in the middle of no where. Next time i think i will do IHOP instead.
