Meh… I guess it’s good? The place had a funny smell as we walked in. It also had an overall dirty feeling to it. The food is good if you like Hawaiian food. They told us we HAD to take out, even though they left some people eating in! The food is cramped into a box and the place itself feels cramped. Overall, might not come here in the future, maybe for emergencies.

Always a thrill when I have Hawaiian BBQ. The marinade they use here is excellent! It makes me want to be in Hawaii. Great service and great food.

The food is decent and when they are not busy, so is the service. However I have to say that who ever is running this one now isn’t taking the same care as when they first opened up. This place used to be so much more lively and friendly. And I feel like the food was better too. The drink fountain yields sodas that fast stale. I tired both Diet Pepsi and Sierra Myst. Both taste stale and wrong. What I am betting is that the hardware on the drink fountains hasn’t been cleaned or changed in a while. The bathrooms were okay, not spic-&-span though. It gives me pause about the cleanliness in the rest of the food areas. This is always my concern with local fast food places. Sometimes they operate with very little experience, professionalism or oversight. I cannot see the last health inspection certificate, and I suspect they would pass, but not by how much.

Very slow service & wouldn’t let me buy an extra sauce. I waited for 30 minutes to receive me order. I like the taste of the food, but other Hawaiian places will give you more food for your money. There are many other great food places in the neighborhood that I will go to other than here next time.

I needed catering for a party, came into L&L about three days in advance. I paid when I placed my order; called the morning I was going to pick my order up to confirm with them it would be ready. When my dad walked in to pick it up, it was on the counter waiting for him! Great bbq beef and pork with cabbage they also threw in some deserts for free! Very friendly and delicious food! Can’t wait to go back for my next catering need!

I ordered the Loco Moco. I am very disappointed in this place. Great customer service; however, they are cheap on how much food they give. I normally go to the one in Fairfield and they provide 2 hamburger patties, lots of gravy and one egg. This place in Vacaville only gives so much gravy and one hamburger patty. Didn’t get enough food for the amount of money I paid for. I’ll just stick to the Fairfield restaurant. In addition, I’ve never been to a Hawaiin restaurant that gives just one hamburger patty. Just saying…

The service is always good and we love coming here. Their katsu is always consistently good as we order the family pack or combo bbq meals quite often. The musubis taste just like they do in Hawaii. I can’t fathom why they have such a low rating because I would say they are as good if not better then other L&L’s I’ve been to. Like another Unilocaler said, we have eaten there and had take out at least once a month if not more since I have to travel thru Vacaville often for business. The eggrolls were also good as are the malasadas. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.

When this concept first came out it was fresh and great tasting. Now years gone by its all gone down hill. Giving Hawaiian food a bad name.

My friend loves this place and we just got our nails done and needed a quick meal… This place was a bad idea. My food was okay tasting at the time but the surroundings were disgusting. A dead bug in the bathroom, unsanitary surfaces, sadly I ordered my food before I saw that. My cousins French fries were as hard as a rock and I currently am sitting on the toilet sick from them. I regret spending $ 13 on them. I’m lucky I didn’t crap myself at the gym.

Went to l&l with my Hawaiian friend that grew up on the original l&l on Oahu. Let me start with saying that I am not very familiar with Hawaiian food, and was a little skeptical. I got the BBQ beef and it was fantastic! My Hawaiian friend got his usual island grub, pork wrapped in seaweed(sort of like a Hawaiian tamale) and he said it was just as good as back home. Will definitely come back.

Why are the reviews so terrible? This is a good L&L! We have eaten in, carried out, and even had my birthday party catered. The food is pretty much what every L&L has, and its delicious of course. It can be slow, especially when they are busy, but they have to cook the food and stuff. I love their BBQ chicken and they always seem to have my favorite Lilikoi iced tea.

I just moved to town a year ago and during my first drive around town seeing the sights, I noticed the L&L Hawaiian BBQ at Nut Tree Plaza. A smile appeared on my face quick as I was a huge fan of the same restaurant in my hometown. The difference between here and the one I used to go to? It’s always busy here! The food is delicious, pure and simple. The BBQ Mix Combo is a mouth watering piece of heaven. Now I’m getting hungry!

The services was ok. My food came out quick. The food was ok, but the Fairfield and Vallejo locations food taste much much better. I also noticed that they gave smaller servings of rice and macaroni salad then the other locations. They also watered down the sauce used for the chicken katsu.

I came here once, and plan on coming back. It wasn’t as bad as the reviews say when I came. It was Sunday, and it wasn’t at all busy. Everything we ordered(party of 12!) tasted good! Katsu, shortribs, macaroni… all delicious! Portions were good, place was clean(small, but clean) and I would definitely recommend this place!

I was so excited to live near and L&L when we moved here from Colorado, but the food at this L&L is subpar. All the food is cooked very Chinese style since they run the place, and doesn’t have the island taste I expect from an L&L.

First time at this L&L and one word greedy… Lol, who actually counts napkins? I mean okay besides that. The food is like any other l&l place. Same food, same prices. Although the L&L in the bay is so much more chill with deals on musubis like buy 2 get 1 free. This place didn’t have it. My family and I came here right after the aloha festival because we didn’t want to pay like 12 bucks for hawaiian food when you can pay cheaper at L&L, right? Although nothing beats legit hawaiian food, but eh. I could settle for L&L. Anyways, got our order the cashier was patient, but this other Asian worker hella counting the stuff he gave us. Like really? Lol. Usually, they grab a bunch of napkins and ask how many forks, but this guy literally counted each napkin and gave us 1 for extra? Okay I guesss. Whatever. Lol. Foodwise, I’ve tasted waaay better Kalua pig, then the one here. It was too salty and dry. The cabbage to me was uncooked. Didn’t reAlly like it. Luckily I ordered a spam musubi. Good job on that. Other then the service and dry food, eh this place is alright. There’s soooo many more food choices around the area. Go somewhere else. No offense, but the L&Ls in the bay are so much yummier.

First off, what is that SMELL? We resorted to L&L after a long drive from Southern California, since we wanted something inexpensive and fast that was near our hotel, and I was not pleased by the stench that greeted us as we walked through the door. It honestly smelled like… some kind of bleach cleaner mixed with body odor. I understand that it’s important to keep your establishment clean, but you might want to consider using better-smelling products since you serve food. Just a thought. I’m not usually so highly critical of fast food establishments — after all, we don’t often visit them to enjoy the ambiance, but that stinky smell just set the tone for our experience here, which was disappointing. The food was«mehh», the whole place just felt dirty, and I couldn’t wait to leave. If we hadn’t already told our relatives to meet us here for dinner, I probably would have begged my family to take our food to-go or eat elsewhere. I’m not sure if I was just smelling my upper-lip or what… haha. But the unpleasant order was enough to turn me off, and to my surprise this L&L had a lot of customers, perhaps because it’s one of the only Hawaiian restaurants in the area. To each his own I suppose?

This was neither the best nor the worst L&L that we have tried. The BBQ short ribs were a tad too salty, and the macaroni salad was too mushy. The loco moco, however, was fairly decent. The service was somewhat slow but otherwise fine. The server was very courteous and nice. The price was reasonable. Our bill averaged out to around $ 8 per person.

I suppose I should not be surprised when I eat here. Two stars at best. Essentially low end fast Hawaiian food. Food does not match the menu when delivered. Staff seems to not care. Place is dirty. Katsu is decent. I so wish this was a Zippy’s! No amount of wishing makes it worth it. Order carefully and inspect what you get.

I come to this 4 – 6 times a year as its close to work and also on my way home. About 2 years ago this store changed ownership. While the new owners didnt speak english very well in fact I think they might be Japanese, they did institute some changes. The famous macroni salad comes in its own little plastic cup now so it doesnt get mixed up with the rest of your food. They also improved the overall quality of the food being served. One of the best things is a few items which arent at the rest of the L&L BBQ’s in particular the Spam Fried Rice at $ 4.99 this stuff is really good. The key to the fried rice is adding a liberal amount of teriyaki sauce. The rice by itself is very garlicky and by adding teriyaki it trancends to a sweet garlicky salty(from the spam) yumminess! The other staples are good ie: loco moco, chicken katsu, mahi etc however the macaroni salad tends to be a little to soft. All n all this is a good gut buster of place :)
