I came in today with the Hubs for lunch. Hisui 2 has an all-you-can-eat sushi lunch option, but I was not feeling like sushi today so we ordered off the menu instead. I had the chicken udon, and the hubs has the salmon teriyaki plate and a dragon roll. Our waitress cheerfully took our order, and brought out our food in a very timely manner. She never let our water glasses get below ½ empty either(bonus points for that!). The Hubs salmon was fresh and perfectly cooked. It was a very good portion for a lunch item as well. My udon came in a very well made and savory broth. The dragon roll was loaded up and fat! We ate until we nearly popped. Everything was delicious. I’m so glad that I stopped into Hisui 2 for lunch.

I went here once. The quality of sushi was okay, but definitely overpriced. The unagi don was about $ 6 more than any other sushi spot in Vacaville, yet it was the same in portion size and taste.

I came to this location on a late evening and I dealt with how fast food was coming out when I ordered off the menu. I usually try not to eat at any place an hour before closing because I get scared of being sick from all the food being touched at the end of the day. I’m glad my experience here was excellent. It’s really hard to see inside this dining where the sushi boat is but I’m happy I left full.

Great food, really friendly staff, good ambiance and has a nice bar too. But… When you walk in, there is a terrible smell of something rotting. Its sort of subtle but over the last few months its getting really bad. I’ve noticed the smell is coming from the back of the building and yesterday noticed it very bad in the area of the restrooms. I’m not sure what you got going on here but its scary and I would definitely look into it. I also noticed laminated flooring that seems to be water logged. Get rid of the pergo floor and go commercial, very unsanitary. I’ll bet you have standing water somewhere that you are not aware of. The smell is getting really bad. I like the place and will go back again but if the smell persists I’m gonna have to stop going.

I’ve been coming here for the AYCE lunch for the past few years. When I first started going, I really enjoyed it because it’s decently priced, AYCE sushi for the quality & there aren’t many AYCE sushi places in the East Bay. This place is not a buffet but All You Can Eat so you get a menu, order whatever you want, they make it upon ordering & you can order as many times as you want. However, I started to notice a decline in the quality of the food. On my most recent visit, I came across many issues that were very hard to overlook. The sushi rice was overcooked, mushy, extremely sticky, almost like paste, & bitter which is an indication of excess vinegar. It was nearly inedible. The quality of the fish is far less than mediocre due to butchered cuts but most of all, extremely thin cuts of fish for Nigiri’s. The pieces of sashimi for the Nigiri’s are so thin/small yet they pack together tons of rice for the Nigiri which completely throws of the proper proportions. They have very strict AYCE sushi rules where you get fined for leaving a pile of rice yet they put a ridiculous amount for the sole purpose of getting you full faster so they could make more money & not lose it from the AYCE sushi lunches. If they’re going to be that stingy with their fish, I don’t know why they even offer AYCE because they clearly can’t even do it properly. Another reoccurring issue that I’ve had with this place is the service. The service here isn’t very friendly. Based on my previous visits, the service varies based on the server you have but most of the time, it’s bad. The food always takes long to come out & the servers are all over the place. On my most recent visit, I was at the restaurant for almost 2 hours because of the slow service. We were waiting so long for our food that we called the server over & he thought we got our food already & tried to take another order. It turns out that the food was sitting on the counter, ready to be served but he forgot about it. In the past, I was willing to overlook the subpar service because of the decently priced, AYCE sushi & its location. However, their service got worse & their sushi is no longer decent. Since Hisui 2 isn’t the only AYCE sushi place around, now that Fuji’s has opened up in Vacaville, I’m definitely sticking with Fuji’s because it is significantly better than Hisui 2.

Tried this place for the first time because I was in the area and wanted some sushi. Saw briefly on Unilocal that they had an all you can eat option, so why not? The lunch AYCE was $ 14.95 with a good selection of special rolls, hand rolls, and nigiri to choose from. They had rules, of course. Eat your rice, no sharing, standard stuff. Our waiter was a little unfriendly, but he was efficient and did his job. The meal also came with complimentary miso soup and edamame. When our first round of sushi came out my first reaction was WOW! As in WOW look at the amount of rice. No wonder they said you have to eat all of your rice because you can easily tap out after your first round. Rolls were decent once you chew through the half inch layer of rice. Their teriyaki sauce that they put on their rolls is a little on the thicker side with a stronger taste. At least everything is fresh and not half bad. I did spot the table next to us order a hand roll that came out with enough rice in it to feed a small child. Seriously, the thing was bigger than my hand. Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience. It satisfied my craving and for $ 15 I really can’t complain.

Service isn’t that friendly. We walked in and they were right by the door but didn’t greet us. We waited and were seated 2 minutes later. It was around 8 when we arrived so they might’ve been tired. But all the regular sushi places we go to never skip a beat with a friendly welcome in. We ordered and the waitress a young lady with long brown hair wasn’t friendly either. Like come on and smile. She had more of an annoyed look on her face. Again maybe too busy. The food came out fast. I ordered the ahi tuna poke. It was different. Larger slices of fish piled like a volcano. Sitting on sliced cucumber. It’s definitely not made for one person to eat. The edame had salt poured on way too much. The sushi was tasty and our tummies were satisfied. I hope for better service in the future.

My family and I go to this restaurant every couple months. Tonight, the food was good and the service was fine. My complaint is that the men’s bathroom was covered in gang graffiti. I was very surprised as this restaurant is fairly well regarded and nothing like a truck stop. I decided to let the manager know the restroom was covered in graffiti, but was told by the staff there was no manager on the premises. I asked for a supervisor and was told there was no supervise on duty. So that brings up a completely new area of concern. According to the staff, they are left unsupervised and on there own to deal with potentially serious issues. This is completely irresponsible. I will no longer dine at this establishment. There’s just to many other great options.

Dinner with the boy the other night. Our server was great, friendly and efficient. Miso soup here is my favorite out of all the sushi places in town, while the taste is the same, they really load up on the scallions and tofu here which I appreciate. We also love how they give you edemame as soon as you sit down for free. Recommendation of the lychee wine was excellent. Sake was good. Geisha Girl roll for me — delicious & would definitely get it again. Also had two pieces of yellowtail, so good, the nigiri is very fresh tasting and doesn’t fall apart like some places I’ve had it at. Boyfriend had a tuna roll with jalapeños and something else. Toro Roll? He didn’t love it, but that’s because he only likes cooked sushi and there was some raw tuna in the roll. He asked for the roll to be deep fried — and it was a $ 2 charge which I sort of wish I knew ahead of time cause I would have suggested he got something else. Inside is very nicely decorated, clean & well lit. Big bar & lots of seating. Looking forward to trying happy hour sometime. I’m a sushi fanatic and this place just became a new favorite.

I liked Hisui 1 so naturally I wanted to give Hisui 2 a shot. The best deal by far is the AYCE sushi lunch. Also, this place almost never has along wait. I wish the service was more on point, but the sake bombs and sushi make up for the mediocre customer service.

I love this place. Lets not mistake this rating for ALL hisuis because Hisui(Well. Hisui 1) does not get the same rating… But this place deserves the 4 star rating. Normally when I go to a Japanese restaurant I stick to my bento boxes since majority of the time the sushi has way too much rice in them! But this place does not! There is a good balance between the rice and whatever fillings you want. My favorite is the golden gate! The service is good most of the time, but be warned it can get busy and thats when the servers take much longer to bring out your sushi rolls.(My previous trip, my husband ended up waiting about 15 mins longer after mine had already came out) But the slower service on those busier days does not keep us away!

Hisui 2 has DELICIOUS Sushi Rolls at AMAZINGPRICES! Among their extensive list of rolls my favs are: Citrus Breeze, Genentech, Hisui Special, Lucky #7, Mike #88, Spicy Crispy, Spicy Dream, Tataki Attack & Zig Zag. All of their rolls are HALFPRICE and they have so many other lunch options including the All You Can Eat Sushi Buffet and the Lunch Bento. If you haven’t been to Hisui 2, you’re missing out and need to try this place!

I’ve been to Hisui 2 twice. Once with my boyfriend for the lunch buffet(LOVE all you can eat sushi!) and the other time for dinner with another couple. Both times were SOSLOW. For dinner, I would recommend going during happy hour. Happy hour beers are $ 2 and $ 4 for cocktails! My friend and I each had a mai tai, which immediately reminded me of college(NOT in a good way) but once I stirred it, it was okay. The sushi itself is good. The problem with this place is the service. Our server was nice, but he seemed to be the only guy in the whole place! Our rolls took almost 45 minutes to come out, and when they did, they came out one at a time. The prices are fair for regular sushi, and great for AYCE, but in my opinion, not worth the wait.

I went with a long time friend who now lives in the area, though we both come from Nevada where AYCE(all you can eat) is the norm. He had no complaints, but I think he was just desperate for a sushi fix as his girlfriend doesn’t care for it. For me, nothing was spectacular taste wise. And the fish was warm *scallops should be warm, I know that ;) We split three rolls: ($ 10) Hisui special roll(spicy tuna, real crab, cream cheese topped with avocado, tuna, salmon, yellowtail and masago). ($ 8.50) Fantasy(crab, avocado topped with lightly seared scallops, jalapenos and masago) ($ 8.50) Tataki Attack(deep fried shrimp, crab, spicy tuna topped with avocado, seared tuna and masago) Of the three, the Tataki was my favorite. I wanted to try a roll with real crab(Hisui special), as I have never had that, but I was thinking it would be just crab… this was shredded so fine and also mixed with the spicy mayo, it seemed really fishy and I didn’t care for it. I prefer fake crab if your gonna lose the essence of it by drowning it in a mayo. Also on that note, I don’t like crab/mayo in place of crab on sushi menu’s, just give me the stick and not the mixture. The scallop one was also good, but I’m not as big on jalapeño’s, so I took mine off. The Hisui also seemed really mushy, like the rice was overcooked. The good parts, bumping this up to a 4 star experience is the service. I really liked our server, she checked on us and had a nice attitude, and it was genuine feeling, like she just seemed normal and didn’t give us that fake server voice(We all know what that is). Especially because my friend and I ended up chatting for a long time before we actually ordered, so more work for her coming to check on us. The miso soup and complimentary edamame were delicious with lots of flavor. They changed the tv station for us as well. The menu is a bit confusing on prices, what does the 50% off mean? But in the end, we both felt the value was awesome, 2 beers, 2 soups a salad and 3 rolls was around $ 43! That’s basically 2AYCE in Reno and we both ate as much as we could with still leaving a couple pieces on the plates. So while I wasn’t blown away by the sushi rolls, if I lived in the area, as my friend does, I would come back and try some more things, or request a custom roll. I am a big fan of lemon and cilantro on rolls, which I didn’t see on any of them, so that might also be a reason I didn’t feel swooned. As I have sushi in more non AYCE areas(bay area, Oregon coast), I don’t really see where the attitude comes from in some of my local reviews. AYCE is not any different than what I’ve gotten elsewhere as far as rolls go. I imagine the difference is in nigiri, but hard to justify ordering that at a non AYCE place when its $ 5-$ 8 an order. And its not buffet or boat style, its all made to order just like here. ETA: I would actually come back for lunch as it looks like they do AYCE then, does anyone know if it is still made to order?

Called in and made a reservation for 6 people at 8pm(they mentioned that they closed at 9:30pm and we would have to get our last orders in by then) on a Saturday night. Arrived 15 minutes earlier and luckily a booth table was available. Hostess seated us and our server Tasha came over to get our drink requests. Well being 6 of us, we had a varied amount of drink requests: two hot teas, three ice waters, and one hot water. All with lemon except the teas. Drinks and Edamame were brought out and we were ready to order. The place is a bit pricey but all 6 of us thought the quality and taste were very good. For appetizers, we had two orders of Agadashi Tofu(sauce was a little too vinegary and should have been sweeter but still passable), Ika Sugata(Grilled Whole Squid — flavor was excellent as the squid was marinated in a sweet sauce before grilling. You could taste the sweetness along with the flavors coming from the grilling. Two sauces, a sweet mayo and a siracha mayo accompany the dish), and Hamachi Kama(grilled yellowtail collar). We were pleasantly surprised with the three appetizers. For entrees we had: Deluxe Sashimi, Beef Teri & Sesame Chicken Bento, Salmon Teri & Chicken Katsu Bento, and Tasha Roll and Raider Roll. All six of us were satisfied with our dishes. The sashimi was fresh and nicely presented. We brought leftovers home for a late night snack. The grilled and breaded items were tasty and not over cooked. The rolls also good. Tasha recommended her roll to us… has jalapeños and siracha sauce on it. Thus, you’ll like if you like it spicy. Additionally, the deluxe sashimi comes with a house blended ground wasabi. The real stuff and not the green paste that comes with the rolls. Overall, we were quite happy with the food and service… Tasha is great as she made great recommendations and continuously checked on drinks and how we were doing during dinner. She is bubbling with youthful enthusiasm and very attentive to customer needs. We were quite impressed and tipped more than the 18% that is billed for 6 or more. Although, we tip on pre-tax and not after-tax unlike the suggested tip amounts on the printed credit card slips. Customers should tip for service and not tip on the tax… if they can, restaurant should request the billing vendor to re-program the suggested tips to reflect a calculation on pre-tax amounts… minor gripe on principal…

You cant go wrong with the all you can eat sushi lunch special for $ 14. They serve up gorgeous slices of sashimi, the catch is that you have to eat the rice, womp womp womp. But other than that, you can’t beat this lunch deal. The variety of this lunch menu is pretty impressive, filled with rolls, sashimi, hand rolls, and even friend bananas. Bring your appetite. Make sure you arrive early, the place tends to get crowded around noon or so.

This place is pretty awesome. You can either order a dish off the menu, or if you make it before 3, you can do the AYCE sushi! Unfortunately I missed the 3pm deadline this time, but I still really enjoyed the two rolls I did order. They have a half off roll menu, so you essentially only pay $ 6-$ 8 for one entire roll! What a deal!

I’ve been wanting to try Hisui 2 for a while now…(My visit @ «Hisui» was underwhelming overall, from the food to the service.) ‘Came by for dinner, an early Friday evening to try out their AYCE…(Insert car hitting brakes here) Oh… AYCE is only for lunch. Well, damn. 8/Noted. Well, we’re here! Let’s eat… ‘But drinks first! Photo — Note: There are only dinner drink specials, NO appetizer/sushi specials(i.e. — Happy Hour) Overall, the experience was«Okay.» I was hoping to give a higher rating in comparison to Hisui 1 but Three Stars is what it is. Customer service was great, from the hostess @ the front of the house, to our waitress, «Chanel.»(Service alone — 5 Stars) However, the sushi was just alright. Hisui 2 is definitely not the best I’ve ever had, nor the worst, they’re just okay. I’m a huge fan of saba nigiri.(Spanish Mackerel) So, that’s one of my go-to orders whenever I visit a new sushi bar. Photo — The spider roll, hamachi kama and uni are a few of my other litmus tests. If you’ve ever tried uni, you will KNOW if it’s not fresh… Quick, fast and in a hurry! In my experience, you can get a very good gauge on freshness based on uni.(If you’re a fan, you know what I’m talking about.) If some of you don’t like uni now, old uni would curl your toes in the opposite direction. Nasty. The one item that stood out the most was the spider roll, nice portions… ‘Everything else, for the most part was just average. I ordered the hamachi kama appetizer… ‘Was really looking forward to trying it. However, ten minutes later, Chanel returned to our table to inform me that they were sold out. Hmm, interesting… It’s only 6pm, early Friday evening and the kitchen is already out? The dinner crowd is just starting to fill up and no hamachi kama available…(Shrugs) Oh well, not a huge deal… What else to try? Okay, I’ll try the uni then! Chanel: Sorry, we’re out of that too… Well, that’s a bummer. First time here, and it’s not even 6:03pm and Hisui 2 is out of hamachi kama AND uni… How many did they start the evening with, two?! «Oy vey!» ‘As my Japanese, Black, Jewish aunt would say… I’m kidding! She’d actually say, «Oy vey, Jamal-san!» I’m still kidding… ‘She’s dead. So, what gives? Either, these are two of their top dishes that are the first to go or someone needs to readjust their inventory… ‘Not a good sign for a sushi bar/restaurant to have«Uni,» hand written on their main menu board behind the bar without any in stock. My only guess is that Hisui 2 doesn’t order a large amount due to the local clientele.(Uni is pricey, hamachi kama not so much.) Our Order: Saba — Okay; no wasabi; not very fresh; previously frozen(?) The Spider Roll — Good; nice sized blue crab; flavorful; not buried in sauce Photo — The NY Roll($ 5) — «Eh…»; another glorified CA Roll Ahi Poke($ 14) — Okay; good flavor; good portions but $$; served in slices, not cubed as it is traditionally Photo — Unagi($ 5) — Okay; too sweet; overly sauced Photo — Chicken Teriyaki Bowl Dinner($ 16.95) — Nice flavor; good portions but $$; moist Photo — Faming Shrooms($ 8) — «M’eh…»; too much going on; overly sauced; flavor is lost Photo — Sake(Fuji Apple) $ 4– Good; it’s sake! Sake x2(Lychee) $ 8 — Good; it’s sake! Coke Total: $ 80(+ tip) As many sushi places are doing nowadays w/fancy, Godzilla-like sized rolls, deep fried, baked, covered in everything from tobiko to nori flakes… «What no chocolate sprinkles?» Oh, and sauce… ‘Too much sauce. It’s a damn, sushi casserole!(BTW, «Yes, they did have a menu item called the Godzilla Roll. True story.) Now, one has to consider the surrounding area and one’s sushi options… ‘Not as wide and vast as the fast food presence here. Like I said, great customer service, okay food. However, for the money it could be better. I’ve been to some very good restaurants from Hawai’i, Seattle, San Diego, Newport Beach, to San Francisco and have come across a few AYCE sushi spots that would amaze you… ‘They still amaze me! I do love great food with a good value. Hisui 2 is alright, though some of their plates are a bit overpriced such as $ 17 for a chicken teriyaki bowl. — Big Aloha!
