My husband, grand daughter and I had lunch here today. I ordered a tri tip sandwich. When Brian brought our order to our table, «Grandma» noticed mine was a phily-cheese steak. It looked so good I told them not to worry, I’d take it instead. It was delicious! A few minutes passed and Brian brought over my tri tip, boxed to go, at no charge since it wasn’t my mistake. I certainly didn’t expect that! What wonderful customer service. We’ll definitely eat there again. .and the Philly cheese steak sandwich will be a favorite

Shopping on a cloudy day with my sister and 2 week old niece, we noticed the Boudin Bakery and immediately decided this would be our lunch stop for the day. We arrived about 12:30, and all of the staff were very polite and helpful. I had a soup and salad combo. The portions were generous, the food delicious. I opted for the chicken Cesar salad, with clam chowder in a bread bowl. My sister ordered the soup and sandwich, choosing the bacon grilled cheese and a bowl of chowder. That grilled cheese was amazing! We were impressed with how quickly people moved through, even when the line was long no one waited an excessive amount of time, and food was brought out quickly. We will definitely be regulars at Boudin when we are in the area.

Pros: — Simple, but great menu items — Friendly staff — Good portion food for the price — Salad and soup combo deal are worth it! Especially, if you’re not too sure what you want to eat — I think it was the manager, he was very nice and friendly and went around asking people how everything was, if we needed anything and he was clearing tables. It’s cool to see managers show that they care and still busting tables — I like ordering up front and getting the meal after because it’s more efficient and you don’t have to wait around for server to come take your orders. — They have coloring pages and crayon for the kids or adults lol whatever works Cons: — The grilled Brie may have tasted better with less fig jam, if you count that as a con, but it tastes yummy, regardless. Overall, I’m actually wanting to go back! Maybe to a closer location since I’m not from around here. I will defiantly come back if I’m around this location.

Came in tonight to have some comfort food after adopting my Foster dog(that’s been in my home for 7 months) into her forever home. I was a crying mess. The person running the register(sorry I can’t remember her name) gave me a hug, and the server Katie came checking up on me frequently. I spoke with the manager to tell him how wonderful his staff was to me. I then realized the graciousness and generosity that was bestowed upon me was supported by the entire restaurant. I will DEFINITELY come back again. Guess I should mention the food. I ordered the simple grilled cheese with a side salad. Oh, can’t forget the wine. TODIEFOR!!! Exactly what I needed. Thank you Nut Tree Boudin. Wish I could hug all of you, but I’d just start crying again. See you soon!

My husband & I have always had great customer service at all Boudin’s restaurant but at this one is by far the best! We have two toddlers that do not sit still and GRANDMA(yes there is a grandma who works there, ask for her) came over to our table and was talking to us & entertaining the kids while we got to eat. She was so kind & made sure we were taken care of. She even gave the kids bread in the shape of a fish to take home, that was very sweet. Can’t wait to see more of GRANDMA when we go back.

Excellent food, pleasant atmosphere, and great customer service, especially from Victoria– who really knows how to make people feel comfortable– made this Tasty Tuesday a great night out for our family. it’s hard going out with small children, but Victoria gave us plenty of crayons and coloring sheets to occupy our 2 year old. I can’t wait to go back for another perfectly grilled cheese sandwich, and of course… the world famous«clam chowder in a bread bowl.» Thank you Vacaville Boudin!!!

Can’t go wrong with Boudin! I know they have a full menu of sandwiches and salads and etc, but I never bother with that because I’m in love with their clam chowder bread bowl! There are other places that have«clam chowder,» but they barely have any clams or potatoes. Not this place. The couple time that I came here, I’m always left satisfied. There is always a generous portion of ingredients in their chowder. Love it! The service is great as well. Even though you order/pay first, pick a table, and the workers don’t really wait on you, they still check up and make sure everything’s okay. It’s uncommon because this place is not exactly restaurant-style. Everything about this place is great, can’t wait to come back!

FOOD: I’m a sucker for clam chowder and in a sour dough bread bowl yes! Their soup is definitely on the thick chunky side. LOCATION: located by all the Vacaville outlets and new shops and restaurants. They have outside seating fenced in with overhead covering and heat lamps. We had to ask someone to turn on the heat lamps. And we were able to have our dog in the patio with us. INSIDE: they have bathrooms here and they were decent. Lots of seating inside too. Good bright atmosphere. Plenty of parking outside.

I’ve always wanted to try Boudin SF whenever I’m in the city, but would always I end up dining elsewhere. However, since they decided to build one in Vacaville, we decided to have dinner at this Boudin SF location. The restaurant was packed when we arrived, which seems common at all of the Boudin SF restaurants. With that being said, be prepared to hunt for a parking spot, wait in a long line, and face the possibility of dining outside or just taking your food home. The food here is delicious! Since my tummy was upset, I only ordered clam chowder soup, which was delicious. I didn’t order it in a bread bowl since I’m not too wild about bread anyway; however, I think I’ll try it the next time I dine here. Since I knew it was an SF restaurant, I was expecting the food to be overpriced, so I was pleasantly surprised that their food is reasonably priced here. I definitely don’t mind and I’m actually looking forward to dining here again.

This place rocks!!! I love the food at Boudin. The turkey avocado with a side of tomato soup is to die for. So delicious! They even use a wheat bread which inherently can be dry– but not theirs. It is fresh, creamy, moist and tasty. My kids love coming here too. The sourdough burgers and grilled cheese is their favorite. There can be long wait times, parking it sparse and seating can be tight during busy times(lunch) but it is well worth it. P. S. get the Boudin Rewards card and you can earn cool perks like free bread and money off orders.

I stay away from breads. I stay as far away as I can to avoid these magical creatures called Carbs and each time I hope to find myself with my soup or salad in a bowl rather than a bread bowl. I’ve ordered their squash soups, rustic tomato, and occasional clam chowder and have been pleased. The last occurrence that I found myself here was one week before Christmas and I was standing in line behind two older ladies that were having difficulties reading or understanding the menu. There were two cashiers open and one cashier busy with customers. While the other cashier was just standing around flirting with another coworker. When the two ladies were able to make their minds up they went to the«flirtatious» cashier and ordered a soup and sandwich(each) and when they paid their bill one woman asked if they could have the bread in their sandwich changed. After the cashier heard the customer’s question her tone of voice went from irritated to infurious because she now had to explain to these older ladies why she cannot make the changes. I was taken aback after hearing how this all went down and felt terrible for these two ladies! Customer service you guys! Please talk to your employees about customer service!

HAVEAGAIN: The take-home sliced sourdough bread and bread bowl bread are excellent(5 stars). The butternut squash soup was very good. NOTHAVEAGAIN: The Philly cheese sandwich was good, but not very interesting — pretty plain. The clam chowder did not have many clams and was also not interesting.

Ryan was so great! He gave my son a fish cookie while we placed our order and was super friendly. He also came to check on us mid-meal. Hubby ordered: turkey havarti sandwich with a bowl of chili and a coke Son ordered: clam chowder in a bread bowl and a ghost cookie for dessert I ordered: apple and goat cheese salad Everything came out to $ 31 and we were full!

Have been here a few times for the clam chowder bread bowls, of course, and once for breakfast(tried their turkey broccoli scramble). I do enjoy the food every time, service is great(register sometimes not so much but the people who come to your table are cool). Parking is shared with Chipotle and Krispy Kreme, so depending what time of day you go, it can get packed. Always a clean interior/tables, restroom. In my head, somehow this seems«closer» when I come from Davis than the one on Fair Oaks when I come from Natomas/Elk Grove, and definitely saves a trip to the city for the real deal! Great addition to the Nut Tree eatery lineup.

Boudin always hits the spot. I can’t speak to anything other than their Roast Beef Pesto and Turkey Cranberry and those are both great. The Roast Beef Pesto comes on an amazing baguette and is accompanied by a salad or chips. I would definitely recommend!

Just a quick update — I have dined at Boudin over 40 times since opening(see check-ins) and always order one of their many salads. I’m particular about the freshness of my veggies(see my review for buckhorn next door) and I can honestly say in the 40+ visits I’ve made to Boudin for a salad, I haven’t even spotted so much as a piece of wilted lettuce or poor quality food. EVERYTIME I go their salads are fresh and consistent and delicious. The service here is good too. «Grandma» in the dining room can always be relied upon for whatever I need, Ryan is extraordinarily friendly at the register and the general manager is always watching over the operation. Their system for visiting your table to collect the number chip after your food arrives is genius and works perfectly. Bravo Boudin! Thanks for 40+ excellent visits!

I had a long day and wanted something fast and not too heavy… Walked in took a minute to get through the one person line. Finally got to the register, no real grating or anything just can I take ur order. So I ordered the jalapeño grill with the clam chowder instead of apple/chips that came with the sandwich and an ice tea. Ice tea was 5 ***** :-) usually fresh brewed tea isn’t so fresh an hour before closing. Yet this one was pretty good and didn’t taste old and was still warm. I got the food and was slightly disappointed with the presentation of my plate. Soup on the side of the cup. Cup half full sandwiched kind of sloppy… taste wise was good. Not great but not bad… would I come here again YES lol… Tables where kind of dirty hadn’t been wiped down. A few areas to improve. Not great but not bad 3 stars :-)

I love that there’s a Boudin closer to the Sacramento area. That means I don’t have to drive all the way to SF to get some of that delicious chowder. I know it’s a chain, but they’re doing something right! The chowder is creamy, not too rich, has the perfect consistency, and some of the oysters have that grainy, sandy texture if you take the time to bite them. I actually really like that! It makes them feel authentic. We came here for dinner. You stand in line and order(like at Panera) and then choose your seat and your food is brought to you. You can also get it as take-out. Plus, they have options for you to buy bread, canned clam chowder, or bread animals for your own Boudin-at-home enjoyment! In house, they have a decent amount of booths and tables. It wasn’t too hard for us to get seats on a Thursday evening. I love the Best of Boudin combo, where you can get a ½ sandwich and a cup of soup or a couple of other options. My favorite sandwich is the chicken pesto. I always get it with the clam chowder. The bread that the sandwich was served on was so chewy though that the inner contents of the sandwich threatened to slip out as I tried to bite through the bread. That was a bit of a bummer, but their breads are so chewy and baked to perfection that it’s hard to truly complain. BUT you can give a little whine when they don’t tell you Thursday night that they’re out of bread bowls; instead we get served our soup in a hollowed out half of a loaf of bread. We got more bread that way but it’s not a bread bowl. Lastly, the portions seemed a bit tiny. I expected a slightly larger half sandwich and a bit more full cup of soup. But these things won’t keep me away. I’ll be back for that tantalizing clam chowder. I’m a sucker for it and their fresh, flavorful ingredients. Especially that bread!
