I’ve wanted to go here for a while, but feared the eventual sticker shock, but the runners & fitness people I trust, told me, you will not regret it. So after buying 4 pairs of shoes in the last 10 days, which did not meet or even come close to my expectations, I decided to bite the bullet and see what Hansons was all about on 6.15.16 Called ahead 1st to see if Mr Hanson was in the house, but he was running in Brazil, so i went in anyways as the young man assured me every employee was here to help. Walked in at 1:40 pm, Alex greeted me, sized me, put me on the special machine which shows, pressure points & arches and all that . I told him of my recent purchases at Kohls & Dicks and what brands normally work. Well 1st of all the size 10.5 that I always lean towards, happened to not be as comfy as the 11 that Alex pointed out in the Saucony and Brooks He had a early 2016 model, that was only $ 102, but the current 2015 brooks was a better fit throughout the arch and heel for only $ 120 Several color schemes and styles in every size I needed, he encouraged me to walk the store, recommended alternate lacing patterns for better heel support, even encouraged me to wear them at home, around the house or on a treadmill to really gauge my level of fit/comfort, but did also forewarn me, if I were to wear them outside, they were mine forever, fair enough. The service, selection, staff, and price point were all far better than I could have hoped for. They also have frequent rewards and discounts and snail mail promos.

My wife and I went to Hansons to buy her a pair of running shoes. She has had issues in the past with cheap running shoes hurting her feet and we figured if we were going all in may as well be at Hanson’s because they are local and help with proper shoe selection. Well… not so much. Our salesman was nice but didn’t seem too interested in helping us in finding the proper shoes. He had her stand on a platform to assess her arch/pressure points and the machine said she has a medium to high arch. Trust me when I say that she does not have a arch at all, podiatrists have even told her this. We told the salesman this and he says«well the machine says she has a medium to high arch» Ok. So she tries on a few pairs and seems to find a pair that work and I assumed at this point the salesman would then take us over to the treadmill and assess gait and what not. No. So I asked him if we can use the treadmill and he says yeah go ahead try them out, but then doesn’t come over with us, no input into her gait no using the camera, nothing. It’s not that I won’t come back to the store but I will drastically reduce my expectations in regards to the knowledge and customer service that the sales people will provide in selecting proper running shoes. We could have gotten the same service or better at a big box sports store. My wife and I both were very underwhelmed.

Horrible customer service. Would not EVER buy from this store again. Let’s start from the beginning. I have a 12 year old daughter who wanted to get into running. I know that Hanson’s is very active in the running community and I like to support local businesses. She was fit for a pair of Brooks Ravenna 6 shoes. After running in them twice there was a noticeable rip in the material lining the inside of the shoe just above the last eyelet. We took the shoes back to the store and were rudely told by one of the salespeople, John, that the rip was caused by the way my daughter runs and that there was nothing they could do about it. I pointed out to him that the shoes looked brand new and there weren’t any scuffs or wear marks on the outside of the shoe. He vehemently disagreed with me and told me that«something my daughter was doing» was causing the rip in the shoe. I asked to talk to the manager who agreed that the shoes appeared to be defective and he issued me a new pair of the exact same shoes(which appeared to upset salesperson John). My daughter was excited to get her shoes back. She proceeded to run twice in her new shoes and the exact same thing occurred. When I took her shoes back again my good friend John was there to greet us. When I asked to exchange her shoes for a new pair he replied«I remember you from last time, I gave you one pair of FREE shoes, I’m not giving you another pair.» I politely reminded him that the shoes were not«free» and that I paid full retail price for them. He was polite enough to take my name and told me someone would call me by the end of the day. So far no call, imagine that. I did contact Brooks at and talked to a customer service rep who to me that there is a known defect in these shoes and they would be sending me out a new pair. It would have been nice if Hanson’s would have checked into this for me. As for my friend John, I would recommend that he find a new job that doesn’t involve dealing with people. He was unbelievably rude and was more interested in arguing with me rather than deal with the real issue at hand.

Love this store! Another great experience, this time with Dani and Tony. Very helpful and extremely professional. Bought socks and shoes for myself and my oldest son. Perfect fit for both of us and no «buyers remorse» after the sale. Very happy with the personal attention, advice and overall experience. Fully recommend this running shop.

Love this place! This is the only shop I will use to buy running shoes. Their selection is great, sales assistants really know their stuff and are experienced runners themselves. It’s nice to work with people who aren’t motivated by monthly«hot items» to push, but rather are focused on fitting you with the best shoe possible.

Went to Hanson’s for packet pickup for the EPIC Half Marathon. The employees were friendly, they had a lot of race info for future races and they had a wide selection of shoes, clothing and accessories to choose from. If I lived in the area, it would be my go to running store for sure!

This is the only place to buy running shoes. Or walking shoes. Whatever type of fitness you have in mind, really. The employees are very educated on the products they sell. They have a machine that a customer can stand on and it will tell you where the pressure points in your stance are. Then the employee can help you find the best shoe to meet your needs. Once you try on the shoe, they have a treadmill in the store so you can take them for a bit longer of a spin if you’d like. The prices are as high as you’d expect for a great running shoe. I’ve been buying my Brooks here for years. They even have a frequent buyers program. Highly recommended.

I went here and asked for a cool looking shoe, but the girl showed me a lot of dorky looking ones. They say cool is subjective but I don’t think so because if anyone’s knows about cool, it’s me. I’ve been told I am very cool as well as handsome and a great catch many times by numerous people including my mother. They did have a lot of shoes though.

I’m shocked I’m the first to review this. Hanson’s is a household name within the running community nationwide. They do not have a big selection of clothing and accessories. Fleet Feet has much more in the way of that. However, their shoe selection is for the serious runner. They have a great staff who are runners themselves. They carry track spikes, race flats, and trainers. If you’re a casual runner, I would suggest trying a New Balance store, as they’re more geared toward a casual runner. Their prices are pretty good. You’ll do better online, but to me, it’s worth the few bucks extra.
