I’ve been to many many flame broilers and they always give you less for your money the bowls are always half way full. But I came to this location today 5÷19÷16. And the service was good the lady in the back did a good job serving my bowl I ask for extra onion and they actually did add extra unlike other FBs. It make me feel like the portion of the food was worth my money. Thanks again.

Yes 5 stars for tofu! I am so happy that flame boiler decided to remember that not everyone loves to eat meat at every meal. The tofu is seasoned well and is delicious with the all you can pump teriyaki sauce and hot red sauce(sort of vinegar based hot sauce). For those concerned with portion control the small bowl is plenty but if you go big get half veggies they go great in the bowl and make it more interesting than just rice… rice.rice. Wait time was like 10 to 15 minutes and no one was in there.. Not sure if I’m happy it took that long because I could assume they are whipping everything up fresh. OR it took that long for other unknown reasons. … hmm interesting

This place rocks! See my previous review about the one in SD– boo! But this place– AWESOME! I normally call in my orders, and they have to be prepared special due to allergies, but they knock it out of the park every time and have it ready super quick. The owner(or manager?) is super understanding and accommodating of my issues, and acts like it’s no big deal. Turns out, he has sensitivities too! It makes me feel really good/comfortable/trusting to know that I can ALWAYS go here and NEVER be disappointed :-)

Terrible. VERY skimpy on the rice and meat. I complained and he blamed it on upper management. Every other location has filled the bowl. I will never come back to this location.

In the old Gold Time Yogurt building location, North-East corner of Mountain Avenue and 8th Street, right below the railroad tracks, sits The Flame Broiler. Fusion Asian style cuisine that will satisfy your taste for rice, meat and vegetable dishes. Very good and friendly staff waits to take your order. The smell when walking in this store is glorious. The food appearance is also very pleasing to the senses. The flavor is good, but not the best. Needs more exotic spices and herbs to work for me. The dishes are a bit too simple. But, very good. I first tried the Teriyaki Chicken Bowl, though I’m not a huge fan of Teriyaki. I was just in the mood for it thanks to the glorious smells after walking in this location. Plain, white rice covered by flame broiled chunks of Teriyaki marinated chicken, with sliced carrots, broccoli, grilled cabbage and green onions. It comes with a side of extra Teriyaki sauce, if your heart and tastes so desire. The chicken had a great, flame broiled, medium Teriyaki flavor. Not dried out of chewy like other places in town. The carrots, broccoli and cabbage were not overcooked, but a bit undercooked for my preference, but were very good, also. Plain, perfectly steamed white rice lies underneath. It’s hard to screw that up. Fresh green onions covers all, though I should have asked for extra. The taste of the bowl was very good, but could use more spice or herbs. It was a bit too singular for me. But, then I’m used to eating Nasi Goreng which has a lot of spices and herbs. I will ask what options are available to me the next time I come here. My dish was in serious need of spice, like Sambal Oelek or hot peppers of some kind along with other herbs and spices. Is this place a great place to eat? Oh, yes. Very much so. While it be your best choice for Asian style cuisine? Maybe not, but it does come close. Eet Smakelijk!

I prefer Flame Broiler over Waba Grill any day. I like the way their chicken taste better, they have Diet Coke over Pepsi and I like the mini size bowl… it’s the perfect portion size. The staff is friendy, maybe to much sometimes but they are nice.

Whenever we’re feeling lazy(especially when it’s sooooo dang HOT during the spring and summer months) my wife and I decide to pick up dinner from The Flame Broiler. My favorite is the beef and veggie bowl with a little Teriyaki sauce drizzled over the top. The meat isn’t very stringy or fatty like some places. Don’t come SUPER hungry though, cuz the wait times always seem to be closer to 10 minutes than 5. This could be because I’ve only come during«dinner» hours, but I have come when there is nobody in front of me in line and when I’m fourth or fifth in line… the wait is always about the same.

Usually love the store but I came towards the end of the night at 8:30 and they told me they were closed. The crew was very rude about it. I’m a manager for chipotle in upland and was very disappointed with their customer service. I’m sorry but I will no longer eat there due to that.

OK, Teriyaki Grills have been around for a while and I finally tried The Flam Broiler. First off the chicken was chopped up and seasoned, not just chicken with teriyaki sauce on it. The brown rice I ordered was very good, not dry and the chicken was perfect! The price compared to the competitors is better and the food was better. Another bonus was that the food came out super quick. I paid, went to the restroom to wash my hands and I was pleasantly greeted that my order was ready. Awesome Job! I’ll be back :-)

It seems like I get more rice here then my chicken and veggies. The food is still fresh and healthy though. It seems like they put teriyaki on their chicken automatically and I try to avoid the teriyaki sauce altogether.

I love this place for a healthier alternative to crappy fast food. I love the meat selection and they don’t charge extra for brown rice. Clean facilities and nice service. Definitely give this place a try!

If you’ve been to a flame broiler before you know what to expect, only better! Manager is extremely friendly and has an amazing memory. I used to come fairly often, but I stopped for almost a year. She still remembers me and that I always ask for chopsticks! Faster service than the five or six other flame broilers I’ve been to, with fresh veggies and the same beef and chicken taste you’re used to. Adequate seating with outdoor shaded seats, a well cleaned and stocked bathroom, and clean tables. If you’ve never been to a flame broiler, think basic and healthy meals. Mostly rice, protein, and veggies! My favorite is the works bowl with brown rice(no extra charge) and extra green onions. Be sure to add some of the red sauce if you like some heat!

Hands down I prefer this place better than waba grill. There menu is simple, there is no reason to be confused about it. The food is healthy and everything is gluten free. This location is clean and surprisingly it’s cleaner than the one in Chino.

My family ate this last night and we ended up in ER for my 3yr old son. Food poisoning for a little man is not right. Obviously the food was contaminated. I will not be feeding this to my family again. Seeing my little guy in pain was not fun. Now mom and dad are feeling yuck. I don’t recommend this food! Panda Express next time! Btw I only gave one star because you have to and my son loves the location of it because of the trains that come by.

got their mini beef bowl although from the display the bowl looked small but i was actually full if you pair any bowl with their magical sauce on top of their hot sauce its adds the flavor also an option to get all white meat if you get their chicken and pay little bit extra on top of their regular price since their food is fresh i think its a little bit expensive than normal bowl place but definitely worth the extra bucks

One of the more healthy places you can eat at Upland. I usually get the mixed combo bowl with brown rice and chicken. Put some magic and hot sauce on it and you’re good to go. Come to think of it, I’m going to go back tonight!

They don’t have a HUGE menu — veggies, beef, chicken and you select whether you want one, two, or all of the above with white rice or brown rice, or in a bowl or on a platter. Simple. And without a lot of excessive fat, HEALTHY… did I mention Tasty? Because it is also VERY tasty. Great new spin on fast food. This location is awesome because you can call ahead and they will have it ready to go for you.
