Black Watch Pub

We stopped by Sunday afternoon after riding the motorcycle around town. Very comfortable bar. Nice bartender, cold beer and nice locals. Will be coming back.

Went to this bar to check it out the bartender was rude she had short orange hair. I came in with a couple of friends seen the atmosphere was not friendly we decided to leave as soon as we left the bartender said to keep on walking. RUDE! Won’t be coming here again!

Awesome spot to just relax and listen to some good music and have a beer. Pool tables and live music give them a try you won’t be disappointed!

Had a great time playing pool and throwing darts our first time here. Good food as well. A great find.

Great place to grab a pint or 4. Great service and excellent food. I highly recommend the «Black Watch Beauty» (A banger wrapped in bacon, topped with sauteed onions, mushrooms and green peppers served in a french roll .) or the Scotch Egg (Hard boiled egg wrapped in banger meat and deep fried) So fuggin’ good!

Good food, great service and a fun place… what more can you ask for… beer is cold and bartenders and friendly.

My boyfriend and I came here on a sunday afternoon to catch the dodger game. The place was crowded. Now, thats normal for a pub, but this crowd consisted of diapered children crying, toddlers running everywhere, and teenagers! I thought I was at Chuck e Cheese. To make matters worse there was no place to even sit! We made our way to the bar (Standing) and ordered a drink. There are no mixed drinks served, only beer and wine. We placed our order, and literally received our food after a 45 min wait. We didn’t order anything fancy, just some chicken fingers. The food was average. We quickly finished our drinks and headed to another pub so we could mingle with adults.

Harps lager and a great fish sandwhich, perfect. The fish and chips, great. All and all, a nice local bar.

First thing that caused me to try this place was the fact that they advertised showing the Los Angeles Dodgers games. Many people obviously including myself cant see the games to I figured I give it a hot. We showed up about 10 minutes before the game started on a Friday night and came in to see a real laid back place. Sat down at a table in the main room since the bar was full and had a waiter who happened to be one of bartenders come just in about a minute to give us menus and take our drink order.
I was pleasant to find that they serve a great variety of beer and ciders for everyone and if you love craft beer like myself this is a great place to be. They serve great local beers that are from Dale bros. in Upland, Stone and even the Claremont Brewery which I had been wanting to try for some time. We gave our drink order and when he came back were recommended to order the fish and chips. The food came out very fast for the crowd that was there and the food was delicious. It was definitely one of my favorite fish and chips I have ever had.
The only warning that I will give is that as of right now it seems they dont serve any form of cocktails. Like I said before they offer Beer and Ciders I forgot to mention wine also but I am not sure if that is a ownership choice but our waiter/​bartender told us they dont as of now. I would like if this changes because I have many friends who dont really enjoy beer or ciders and love cocktails. Hopefully this changes in the near future.
The Dodger game was great to watch they have 2 rooms for the location and our small party moved to the 2^nd room because the waiter/​bartender told us about 30 minutes ahead of time that a band will perform which is nice that they offer live entertainment and they do this on all weekends is what the employee told us. So if your not into that come on the weekdays to watch the dodger games they show them all the time.
Overall this establishment is great. The location has a good and close parking lot to use. The staff for being pretty busy majority of the night was very attentive to us even though we werent sitting up at the bar. They offer a wide selection of beers and offer great quality food. I cant wait to come back here for another dodger game to enjoy here.

This review is for their staff. The bartenders are awful. They ignored all the women right in front of them but were extremely attentive to the male clientele. I definitely won’t return.

The bar gets a little crowded when the bands are playing on Saturdays, but that’s probably what makes it fun. The staff is friendly; I always enjoy having a beer with friends here.
They don’t offer mixed drinks for the ladies, which has deterred us from coming here on other occasions.

Well established, and it has been some time now that they decided to keep smoking outside only. Though I appreciate smoking outside, I wish the government would let private business run the way they see fit, but oh well. .. This place remains awesome in spite of government mandates.

Okay, first the chips. Get the chips. I’m not talking about the fish and chips, although I’m sure those are good, but the chips. Yum.
Second, they have the DODGER GAME! (we have it at home, but more fun out sometimes!)
Third, our kids were entertained since we brought them during lunchtime on Sunday — they were able to play pool and be with us while we watched the game. Hard to find a spot like that.

Came on a tame Tuesday with some friends. The place is definitely divey and prices aren’t the best, but you could easily find a beer to your liking. We came to watch the Argentina game and even though we were the only ones watching they put down the big screen.
Super accommodating, attentive, and reasonably priced. There was a Modelo special going on while we were there.

I lived in London for a few years. The Black Watch Pub reminds me of some of the pubs in London in terms of atmosphere and design. The only thing missing is a small dance floor to dance to the bands. That said, The Black Watch is a friendly neighborhood pub with a good crowd and a lot of character. They offer some local brews like Pomona Queen (highly recommend) and Black Beauty (great if you like Guinness). They have darts and live bands on Saturdays. There aren’t a lot of consistently good neighborhood bars in the Pomona/​Upland/​Rancho Cucamonga area. The Black Watch Pub is one. Definitely give it a try! I highly recommend them!

I’m English and will be coming back for more comfort food. Best scotch egg I’ve had in the USA! They have the classics– Fish & Chips, bangers, baked beans and even HP sauce on the table.
Was also thrilled to find Yummy pear Cider!
They were very friendly staff.

I first came here about a year ago to check out the Black Watch Pub, and I wasn’t too impressed. But I figured I should give it another shot because I live across the street. I’m really, really glad I did.
Service is excellent. On a weekday, I come in for a beer, and the bartender, Crystal, is so friendly and energetic that I actually stay for 2 or 3. I guess she started working here recently, but she gives the place a great atmosphere. I am always greeted when I come in, and when I leave, she always says thanks for stopping in. It’s small acts like these that make a huge difference for me. Seeing as she works simultaneously as a bartender, server, busser, and hostess, it makes me wonder how other restaurants fail to achieve this level of service with dedicated positions.
Weekends are usually a lot of fun too. The bands can be hit or miss, but they usually surpass expectations. I’m pretty satisfied with the other forms of entertainment too — lots of darts, a pool table, and a jukebox. It’s not a huge place, but they make good use of the space. I’m not a sports fan, but they do have multiple TV’s and a projector, so this is a great place to catch the game and enjoy some beer.
As for the food, I love the fish and chips. I never really enjoyed this classic dish until I came here. The soup and sandwich combo is also a pretty good deal. Joseph, the cook, is the man. Sometimes he even cooks up things off the menu.
The beer selection could be better, but it does have a decent variety for a bar that serves mostly bud light. I can usually find something on rotation that suits my needs. I would love it if they had at least one sour beer, especially if it’s from the Bruery.
Overall, I’ve recently had great experiences here, and if you’re thinking of trying a new pub or haven’t been here in awhile, then I highly recommend Black Watch.

If you want to grab a beer and play some darts, this is a great place for it! They only have beer and wine. Great selection of beers! Service was great, didn’t feel rushed even though we came close to closing time.
