The T. Phillips Alehouse is CLOSED. OUTOFBUSINESS as of May 2013. I have to say that I am not sad to see the T. Phillips Alehouse closed down. If you were into beer, they had a great selection. If you were into food, it went well with the beer. If you were into sports TV, it went with the beer. If you were into loud noise, this was the place. If you were into spending lots of money for simple foods, then that was the place. For those true T. Phillips Alehouse lovers they still can enjoy T. Phillips Alehouse by going to the Glendora location. For rating T. Phillips Alehouse, I will rate at the current overall average given Unilocal Rating. Therefore, being out of business deserves a final rating of THREESTARS. To the T. Phillips Alehouse of La Verne, I lift my Budweiser bottle and say CHEERS!

Fun laid back trivia night //horrible service(we had to ask for water 3 times) and they didnt take all my friends order /they just left half way … Thumbs down on that OMG first thing you do? Give the customer drinks. H2O Please. I literally had to ask 3 people. My friend and I were SOTHIRSTY too which didn’t help… I asked my server twice, we then asked another person, and then we asked another person! They all didn’t give us water? What the feezy. This rating just went from a 4 to a 3… apologies… WHATWASORDERED: NACHOS! it was HUGE. with the most stuff EVER! and I LOVE guacamole! there was a TON of it. How many people ate this? 5 people! We killed it. Trivia night: Dude this trivia place … lol there were like 5 rounds or something. Thats Insane! fun but insane. I like the versatility.

Stopped by here on a Saturday night for some drinks. As soon as I walked in I noticed the place smelled like stale beer and throw up. The place was only 1⁄3 full at most and we were sitting at our table for at least 15 minutes before somebody noticed us. After finally being noticed a bartender walked over to help us out. You could tell the guy had been drinking, and was very rude and short to us. Definitely not friendly at all. We noticed while we were there all the people that worked at the place were up by the bar shooting the shit with each other, talking to people at the bar with no regard to any other customers in the restaurant. This place has potential, but needs some retraining for their employees on how to treat customers. Overall AWFUL customer service.

I used to go for trivia nights. Even on those nights when there was a large crowd, i always felt the service was top notch and the wait-staff was trying to get to me and my order.

Went there last night 1 – 16 Saturday. Tables were dirty & service was despicable. We had 3 waiters and they still. Bombed the order. And the original guy who took our Order came & retook it again. Not sure if he was enjoying the beers a little. LoL! The food was average. Ill never return there again.

My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon in Mammoth and decided to go out for 1 last Sunday lunch before returning to work. I had heard of T Phillips but had never been. All in all., good food(I had the turkey panini) and a delicious tequila sunrise. Service was decent. Very nice girls. A tad slow, but not annoyingly slow, plus their personalities made up for it. Very cool atmosphere and we will definitely be back.

Found this quaint place while riding up to Azusa and was coming down when we realized we were starving. Looked up Unilocal and took us to something that looked like Downtown La Verne. It was a quiet afternoon when we stopped by, the bar was amazing with a very rustic and vintage looking cash register and just a beautiful selection of beers. We decided to grab two large jugs of Shocktop to start the late lunch off and ordered ourselves what they call it ‘THENACHOS’. FOOD: The Nachos was massive… I mean MASSIVE. If you have the guts to finish it, I applaud you my friend. It’s just filled with cheese, olives, tortilla chips, and so on. So much food! The bartender who served us was super surprised that we cleaned the plate to the last bits of meat that were on it. He said that we were his firsts that actually managed to completely finish The Nachos and shook his head in disbelief. LOL! He was also really friendly and plenty folks like him at the bar. We spoke to an elderly man who was also a patron there about life in general and we had a really good time even though we were all strangers to one another. The music was softly playing in the backgrounds, just enough to give you a good atmosphere and the sun comes shining through in the afternoon, it’s a great place to check out. SERVICE: Superb, the guys behind the bar are super nice and love to chit chat with you. They make sure everything is in place before ringing you up and you leave with a smile on your face. I’m hoping to come back again when I find the time!

When this place was Heroes it was the best local bar around. My the times have changed. Nowadays they have a couple of servers who talk to you in a condescending tone and like to add things you didn’t order to the tab. The last two times me and my co-workers came here, they treated us badly and added about five drinks on to the tab thinking we wouldn’t notice. Also, they raised the prices drastically. Horrible place.

I don’t know why I haven’t written a review on this place sooner. I love T. Phillips. Their veggie panini and curly fries are amazing. I always have out of town friends meet me here for lunch or dinner. The staff is friendly and professional. I think I favor the bartenders more, but that’s because they are usually more on it. All my guy friends have observed that the waitresses have extremely nice racks. The only downfall is they close at 11pm(at least on weekdays). And the other bonus is their patio is so freakin’ cute! :)

If you’re ever craving a trash can lid sized platter of nachos — well then, I got your a recommendation on where you can go to fulfill that craving. HERE! Okay, let’s be a little honest. This place has a strange feel to it. On one hand, it’s a more refined tavern. A classier joint than what you would find on the set of Deadwood. But at the same time, it does carry that feel that it caters to those who have been working their gold mine claim all day and just need that huge liter of beer to drown that workday away. On the other hand, it’s a really family friendly place. So you’d probably not find any hoopleheads staggering their way into this establishment any time soon. The choice of paintings and décor gives this a sort of family feel while also being fairly kitschy. Some paintings and photos are straight out of a sears catalog, while others are stuff you would find in an antique flea market. It also attempts to be a sort of sports bar and saloon with the amount of taps they have and the flat screens on the walls. It tows the line of being a jack of all trade. A family eating establishment, but one you can come with your boys to watch the(insert sports team) game when the man cave you have going for you back home is off limits. The food — well, I did mention the dumpster lid sized platter of nachos. The sucker is enough to feed a small village for a couple of days. Will it be a healthy option? Hell to the no. But it does do the job at satisfying cravings. The beer they have going is the real selling point. Nothing is ever wrong with getting beer in a huge liter glass stein. Now that, if there was ever any yardstick to prove manhood, would be it. Be warned, after about 4 or 5 liters of alcohol… well, chances are you’ll get cut off. I don’t recall exactly what number it was that did it for me. as I don’t recall much, but that’ll do, little one. That’ll do it. Over all, it’s a nice little tavern/family eating establishment that caters to a really small community of La Verne and those whacky college kids. One hell of a good bargain and the pours here offer a wide selection of alcohol. So hey, you can’t go wrong with all that.

Big ass beers! When I say big I mean motherfucking B-I-G! I had two 34 oz. Blue Moon Hefs and a regular Fat Tire(good looking out Omar) The patio was nice to just chill and enjoy the bright ass sun. Oh and the servers were on top of their game, one in particular had a great attitude and an even greater rack. All in all a great experience.

Although I love this place the service is below average… even though they are always sweet and friendly. I honestly believe this place is overpriced. If I could do 3 ½ that’s what I would do… but I had to round to the lowest :-( While the food is great its not anything but what you get everywhere else… for five bucks less. I will always come here and the beer selection is bar none amazing… but when I’m feeling that sort of penny pinch kinda day for no necessary reason whatsoever… I will venture elsewhere.

I came here quite some time ago after getting lost and being really hungry. I do remember that the food was very good. So good, in fact, that I wanted to come back to the area just to eat there again. My burger was great, cooked perfectly. They also had my favorite beer… Hoegaarden. The atmosphere was very relaxed. It had almost a western saloon type feel to it. Throwing peanut shells on the floor was both fun and a little uncomfortable for me as I felt like picking up all the shells I threw. So, moral of the story? If I ever get lost in La Verne again I’m stopping in for a bite to eat!

Brought some key clients here due to the location. There were eight of us and it was on a Friday for lunch. We were seated and handed bags of peanuts which is standard here. Our friendly — cute waitress took our alcohol free drink orders asap. The Bev’s here are huge so you really don’t need refills unless your hungover or experiencing some cotton mouth. I ordered the prime rib sandwich with a side of salad. The sandwich was tasty, open faced and salad was average. This looks like a fun place for HH or to just hang out with friends although its not really close to any freeways which is a hassle. I would return again especially if I’m thirsty!

Got a take-out Reuben sandwich from here so this is review is solely on the food only. Sandwich was piled high with corned beef, sauerkraut and bathed in Russian dressing on rye bread accompanied with a pickle spear & French fries. It was really juicy — too juicy that it made my bread soggy and I had dressing running down my fingers. I expected this as this always happens when I order a Reuben. The flavors were all there, though and as messy as it was(and requiring tons of napkins) it was still a party in my mouth.

I don’t like nuts. But I do like T Phillips even though they give you free peanuts. You’ll know this from the moment you walk in because there’s peanut shells all over the floor. When my friend asked me to go to DTLV, immediately I think of Fremont Street, Golden Nugget, California Hotel … you know, Downtown Las Vegas. No when I think of DTLV I think of Downtown La Verne. Yeah, that’s right. 5 stars for a bar from me that’s actually located in La Verne. I didn’t eat but they do have a fine selection of draft beers, the service is great from everyone on the staff which stood out for me and even though I didn’t eat, I know the portions are huge because the people I came with actually shared their entrees and were satisfied. I’d definitely come back … just for the beer and the friendly service but next time I’d try something off the menu.
