CertaPro Painters of Hayward

This review is for CertaPro’s gutter cleaning service. We needed our gutters cleaned in a bad way, and CertaPro gave us a great price — the lowest quote out of 6+ bids we got for the job. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for here.
First, there was a mix-​up in their office, so the cleaner ended up coming 4 hours later than the originally scheduled time. When he finally set up for the job, he discovered a giant hole in his hose, so he had to leave and come back the next morning. All of this could have been forgiven if they’d done a good job.
The work proposal they gave me said they would «Hand Clean All Gutters Then Power Wash All Gutters and Downspouts.» I thought that meant they would remove the gunk from my gutters with their hands (and put it in my green bin or dispose of it somehow) and then power wash the inside of the gutters to get any stains or clinging bits. Unfortunately, they instead blasted my fully clogged gutters with the power washer until all of the crud rained out onto our deck, patio furniture, yard, trees, etc. It was disgusting, and used a TON of our water. What we saved in CertaPro’s quote we will more than make up for when our water bill comes this month.
To his credit, Alvaro (who cleaned the gutters) was a very nice and polite guy, and sprayed some of the nastiness off of our deck and front door. However, there was still a mess in both places that I spent an hour cleaning up, and our yard remains covered in rotten leaves and debris that was in our gutters. I regret hiring CertaPro, and will just pay a bit of extra money next year to get the job done right.

Scott is really great at matching colors. The HOA was no help in telling me what the outside color was for the townhouse and Scott matched them perfectly. The paint job was done very well. The thing that prevents me from giving five stars is that I didn’t know that Scott wouldn’t be there when the job was being done or at least check it when it was completed. All the other contractors I’ve ever used, the person who gave me the estimate was there on the job. The job was done well though.

Scott was very helpful in helping us select colors for our home exterior. His guys did a great job and the house looks wonderful. The only reason I didn’t give them five stars is because the cost was a little higher than other bids we received and they left behind a bit of a mess. Overall though, we are very pleased with the results.

I had CertaPro Painters come to give me an estimate on my whole house. Scott was professional and helped me choose the right colors. I changed everything and was worried it wasn’t going to come out right. Although the price was a bit higher than the other guys I got estimates from, I felt a lot more comfortable that Scott and his team would be able to get the job done in a short amount of time and not destroy my plants and leave a big mess. They started the job and finished in 4 days. It looks BETTER than I expected. I highly recommend them if you need good professional painters.
