Mama’s Cafe and Bakery

Stopped in because of the Unilocal reviews for some breakfast. But sadly I didn’t eat. Well couldn’t eat. The potato hash bowl that I ordered was inedible! The potatoes seemed like they were held for too long then tossed back in the fryer then promptly forgotten about! It was a crunchy mess of nothing! The eggs that came with it were tasteless and I’m sorry don’t advertise that something comes with avocado if you are basically using it as a garnish.
Plus one of the waiters was coughing and clearly sick… Yuck!
Only reason this isn’t a 1 star is because my husband enjoyed his meal. Will not be returning.

I really enjoy this breakfast spot. Fast, friendly service. fresh yummy food. good Bella Rosa coffee. It is a cozy warm environment indoors… but also has a beautiful back patio outside. It is kid friendly. coffee date friendly, or you could have a business meeting. I enjoy their omelettes. potatoes and amazing salsa. A great local treat!

We just had the worst experience at this restaurant. First we waited ten minutes before I had to ask for menus. We ordered pretty quickly then and it didn’t take too long to get served-​part of our meal. I had finished my breakfast and we were still waiting for the rest of my friend’s food. We waited for 30 minutes, politely reminding them that we had not gotten our meal. Each time we asked the waitress said” It will be a few more minutes”…the last time the waitress walked by she blatantly and rudely ignored us. That was too much, we paid for my breakfast and the coffee. Told them we were leaving and why, and went to Starbucks and got excellent service.
I would NOT recommend Mommas to anyone.
(I believe the rude waitress name was Cheri, could be wrong.)
We weren’t the only customers who were less than satisfied today. The table across the way expressed their frustration too.

Service was fast and friendly but the food was just not good. «The Works» potatoes sounded amazing but turned out to be a bowl of overcooked potatoes with a few chunks of burnt bacon and a handful of diced tomato. I’ll try someplace else next time.

We had a great breakfast at Momma’s. The portions are the perfect size, the food arrived quickly and our waitress was very friendly. They have an awesome selection of books, toys and crayons that will keep the littles occupied until the food arrives.

We were on our way to San Francisco airport when we hit this little gem, thanks to Unilocal good reviews. They have fresh healthy hearty breakfast with many choices. I plan to go back when I’m down that way again.

I ate here twice while visiting Ukiah for work and fell in love with this little café. The coffee is fantastic and the daily egg scramble specials are fresh and delicious. And those rosemary potatoes! Don’t get me started.

I love their breakfast. I have never been disappointed with the fresh bread and fried rosemary potatoes. The chai is very good as well.

Wow very impressed with this little café! Food was great and service too. A must stop in and enjoy the patio area too!

The road runner sandwich with salmon & dill cream cheese… The best! This place is delicious and the service is great. I love Mama’s Café!

Not a fan of this place.
Food was mediocre and the service was, although friendly, it was pretty slow. The place wasn’t even busy when I went.
Won’t be coming back here unfortunately.

This place has everything! Awesome atmosphere, great service, delicious food, and wonderful coffee!

DO NOT stop in some other town for breakfast or lunch. Stop in Ukiah and either eat here or across the street.
I had a special omlett. Good coffee and a total welcome and excelent service as I stayed almost 3 hours cathing up with an old friend.
They also were smart and informed when I needed some advice about the town.
Two thumbs up.

I cannot say enough good things about Mama’s café. This is our favorite place to eat brunch on the weekends, and we cannot get enough of their food! Staff is always friendly, and quick! We are happy to be frequent customers.
If I had any suggestions, I would say to bring back the gluten-​free waffle!

Food was great. The menu related to sides of potatoes is confusing and the waitress was not helpful in explaining or correcting the confusion. She also couldn’t seem to remember to bring soy milk for coffee. Food is awesome service so so.

I love this place! I’ve gone in a couple times for breakfast and the food and service have always been excellent.

BEST BREAKFAST IN UKIAH You won’t find any fake waffles here. This place is a little pricey for the small plates, but it is worth it if you appreciate good, home-​cooked from scratch food. Only complaint is they use ketchup with GMO high fructose corn syrup in it (its on the table and listed in the ingredients) I wish they would start using a better ketchup especially considering the price we pay for a plate. I love their three egg plate with the avocado add in option and the home fries, they are cooked to perfection every time. fresh squeezed orange juice and house baked baked goods.

Very impressive menu items. The coffee/​espresso is alwas perfect so i Ventured out and ordered a breakfast sandwich it was great and so much food I shared with someone in my office :). I love the atmosphere of the well kept old brick building and the service is great. I would highly recommend, very impressive!

this place has a lovely atmosphere. I love to see a small family business, with the kids helping their parents. Wonderful. The reason for the 4 stars is that their portion is a bit small. I had to order more which in turn drive the price up.
Another complain is their menu selection is too small. it is only good for lunch but not much else.

Excellent food for a great price! I ordered a BLT with Avocado which was delicious! Their small potatoes with rosemary that my dish came with were excellent as well. The terrace outside is very nice when it’s sunny outside. Even the coffee was very good, which is rare in breakfast joints.
I’d like to find a bad thing to say about it, but I just can’t. Oh actually yes, there is one. They’re too far away from Seattle for me to go there more often!
