My mother-in-law has had a Nespresso for years. For Christmas, the in-laws gave me my own. I LOVEIT. I was in DC for w one day conference and took an Über out to Tysons Corner specifically to visit the store. Richard was amazing. He let me try a few flavors, we talked about the machine and how to take care of it, and I suggested that it would be nice to have a laminated guide next to my carousel. We talked about options and Richard sent me the list via my email before I even made it back to my hotel. I was back in DC a week later and went back out to the store. Another amazing experience. The staff are all very professional and helpful. I love this place. too bad I don’t live near here! I will be visiting the Chicago store soon, but I generally order online. Richard really made me feel so much more confident in my Nespresso.

The coffee etc is great but the service is awful. They need more sales people at the cash registers. Today I waited in a line of four customers for 22 minutes. There are 4 points of sales but I never see more than 2 of them open. You really need better customer service.

My first experience the store months ago wasn’t great, but lately customer service been friendly and fast, with good tips about what espressos I might like based on previous purchases.

I just ran into the store while on a trip. Beautiful store! I’ve always had to order online so this was a treat. What I really enjoyed was the tasting bar. They brewed the Ciocco Ginger Espresso and it was beyond fabulous. I would have never have ordered it, because honestly– sounds gross. But after spending years in the coffee industry– I am absolutely in love with this. And to think I would have never ordered without walking into the store… Thank you!

I had the worst customer experience in recent memory here. I went to learn more about their pods because I wanted to buy them as a gift to a friend. Unfamiliar to their terminology and ranking system, I politely asked what the differences were among the intensity ratings and flavor. The staff member gave me a disgusted look for asking, in a way that was very arrogant in that how dare I did not know about their coffee. I then suggested that I wanted a variety pack of strong and intense flavors. He then asked me how many tubes of pods I wanted and selected his choices without explaining to me why. It felt like I was an inconvenience to him. Because this was a gift, I tolerated the attitude. If it weren’t for the quality of their product, I would have dismissed the Nespresso brand because of poor customer service. It is obvious that sales targets are very important to them, even if it means not explaining your products to check you out and ring the next customer. I haven’t lost faith in the Nespresso brand and products. However, I’m definitely not returning to this storefront. I’d rather give the sales credit to staff who want to inform you of your purchases and feel good about it.

Update: I was contacted by the store manager Alex and he personally apologized for my experience at the Tysons store. He reassured me that proper action has been taken and that if I visit the store again he would make it up to me. Although I haven’t yet had the opportunity to go back to the store, I do appreciate management taking action and reaching out to customers to ensure they can improve on the customer experience.

I’m new to the whole cult of Nespresso, and so it was super helpful to get a chance to try some of the flavors in person before committing to buy a full sleeve(or many sleeves) of them. The store itself is a little weird. Despite it being a busy Sunday, we happened into the store when it was empty. Strangely, no one offered to help us for a few minutes, and just let us wander around. Eventually, one of the guys at the tasting bar clued us in to the fact that you could indeed sample some coffee. And thus we did! I tried a number of the limited edition and single origin that weren’t in my little intro pack, and it was a great learning experience. Unfortunately, the period of calm didn’t last and soon we were surrounded by(other) caffeine-crazed lunatics shouting for their own samples. After battling our way out of the scrum, I bought a bunch of capsules and may never need to sleep again. So why not 5 stars? A little more attention is needed going entrance to the store, and a little more diversity on the staff — 7 black-haired, vaguely Euro-trashy dudes kind of freaked me out.

So, I have been a Nespresso customer for about 11 years and have LOVED their coffee. I have had two of the«original» machines and ran them both into the ground. One of my favorite things was the Decaffeinato Intenso decaf capsules which to me were even better than the regular coffee. When my last machine broke, i decided to try the new Virtuoline style which meant getting different capsules. I thought the Decaf Intenso espresso would taste the same and purchased 10 sleeves of it. Alas it is really not good, but since I need to mostly drink decaf I have been buying it anyway. On my last trip to the store in Tysons, I bought two sleeves of the regular coffee decaf and low and behold it’s awesome! I have now have six sleeves of the decaf espresso I will not use and because it’s been a bit longer than 14 days, I cannot exchange them. Watch out for this exchange policy when you are trying out flavors. Nespresso does not stand behind it’s products or care if you like them or not apparently. The Capsules are expensive and you will be stuck if you don’t like something. Wish this company were more responsive to good customers who are loyal and paying a lot for an expensive product. If the shelf life is an issue, then put an expiration date on the sleeve and work around that.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Nespresso Tysons, all thanks to Lizzie! She was extremely patient while answering a number of questions from this Nespresso virgin. Her knowledge of the machines/coffee was incredible. Not once did I feel pressured into my purchase. Long story short… things went so well that I am now the proud owner of a Lattissima Pro as well as a Virtuoline. The machines are great and the variety of coffees is incredible. The only thing I would like to see added is more flavors in decaf, but other than that I couldn’t be happier!

Ok, lets start with a disclaimer, this is Tysons Corner, so I expect a certain«air» to both clientele and staff in most stores… it is just the area, and sometimes there is a bad vibe along with it. That being said, I have shopped there twice, and while their is an air of sophistication to the staff, It is not a bad vibe at all. I do not dress the scene(think hippy/woodsman with a shaved head and a long beard), but both times the staff were professional, offered to help me pick out what flavors to buy, and the second visit the manager stopped me and explained their whole recycling system, and gave me a pre-addressed(and paid for) bag to ship the empties back, just in case I can’t get back to the store. I will return to the shop, and if there are bad vibes I will address them with the staff and update my review.

I am so happy they’ve opened in Tysons because I do love the convenience of stopping by here when I need my refills, or an opportunity to taste limited editions like the Peru or Milano. The service here is great; staff is patient in making coffee and explaining the notes of the coffees. It is also very clean and organized though it’s smaller than the one I’ve been to in New York or Barcelona. I love my Nespresso store a lot.

Me and my brother when by this place. Tried there coffee for three weeks. Every time I try there coffee was outstanding. Staff wonderful. Nice size store. If you come by don’t forget your creamer. They supply the sweeter. But the milk or creamer they don’t. Do I want the machine? Give it another ten cup of coffee and… Yes they got me. I got my Starbucks machine and it sweet.

This new nesspresso store is great! very clean & attractive. Everything is very organized, and I was able to browse all the machines around the store with ease. Not to mention the customer service was fantastic, I was in with my boyfriend and we both got to sample their new pods from the Vertuoline, *side note* the samples or should I say full cups of coffee, come in their glass mugs and It made the experience just a little more elegant :) and the worker was very informative with all the questions I had. Overall, I had a great experience and got a couple new pod flavors to try out!

I went to the Nespresso store this past Saturday with my mother. I already have a Nespresso machine and was busy telling my mother she should buy one. My mother waited forever for a tasting and the woman was very rude to her. When I finally got to the counter to check out(I needed more pods), one of the cashiers asked my mother to «move over» so she could check out someone else. The staff was very pretentious and acted as if they had no time to be bothered with customers. My mom walked out of there without a new Nespresso machine. I think I will just buy my coffee pods online so I don’t have to deal with the staff at this store.

The hubs and I came in the other day for some pods for our Vertuoline machine and totally got the Pretty Woman treatment. The part sans Richard Gere, that is. We didn’t catch her name, but the supposed«Team Leader», according to her tag, whom in her mid to late 50’s was pretty high and mighty the whole time. It was as if she was too good to help us or you know, do her job as a retail customer service rep. During our requested tasting, when she wasn’t too busy turning her nose up as us, the few words that she spoke were desperate and transparent attempts at making herself seem like some sort of coffee sommelier. Albeit a Nespresso instant coffee sommelier. At checkout, the same woman also looked liked a harshly disapproving mother when she just assumed that we were registered Nespresso members but we informed her that we weren’t. She badgered us for several moments about it with nonsensical babble and proceeded unilaterally to register us as members. In ordered to register us however, she required the serial number of our Vertuoline machine and for some reason this woman just totally assumed we would know the serial number off the top our heads. Finally, I cut her off and politely asked what were the benefits of being a Nespresso members and she just looked forehead vein popping angry but could not give a single reason. When we finally left the store, my husband and I just looked at each other, sighed, shook our heads, and just started laughing in unison at what we just experienced. I said something to the effects of, «did that just happen at a place that sells instant coffee?» Yup, sure did. As an owner of the Vertuoline machine since it’s release, it’s done nothing but collect dust in my kitchen. For a long time now, I have been considering upgrading to the Lattissima, but after this, any continued efforts to hand over my money to Nespresso just puts a bitter taste in my mouth, in more ways than one.

I arrived to the new Nespresso boutique in Tyson’s excited about purchasing some more coffee for my Vertuoline! Unfortunately Cherry was less than enthusiastic to have to attend to my many questions about recommended coffees. To the point where she finally said«I have other customers I have to help». She was extremely unhelpful and less than knowledgeable about the product. Very disappointing! I will give it one more chance before I talk to the manager.

Rest assured folks, Nespresso is actually not going anywhere! While the harder-to-find pop up shop truly is closing February 2015, the store is relocating to a more central area in the Tyson’s Corner Mall! The pop up shop has allowed people to become acquainted with the store and the products. I personally own the VertuoLine and am not ashamed to say that I am head over heels for it. Yay Nespresso!

A Nespresso pop-up boutique has appeared at Tysons Corner! They have a selection of their Grand Cru coffees, machines, and accessories that available to purchase with a helpful staff. They were only going to be around until February ’15, but have now been added as a permanent store to the mall.
