During a recent trip to Tysons Corner, Virginia, we had a chance to visit one of the community’s high end restaurants. We wanted something that we would do for a foodie weekend and here we found Flemings Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar. The restaurant is one of the most innovative in entire Fairfax County; serving a wide selection of USDA Prime steaks and more than 100 wines by the glass. Located on the corner of Chain Bridge Road and International Drive near the Ritz-Carlton and Tysons Galleria, the restaurant is known for their unique blend of ambience, exceptional menu and quality services. The menu features a wide variety of both traditional and modern foods and drinks, including French Onion Soup, Housemade Burrata, Tenderloin Carpaccio, Pan-Crisped Pork Belly, Fleming’s Salad, Bloomsdale Spinach, Chocolate Chip Cookie, Modern Caesar, Newport Filet Mignon, Dry-Aged Prime Ribeye, Prime Bone-In Ribeye, Prime New York Strip, Chocolate Lava Cake, Cheesecake, Walnut Turtle Pie, Carrot Cake, Asparagus, mushrooms and many more. During our first visit, my husband took Prime Bone-In Ribeye for lunch. I wanted something light, so I chose Chocolate Chip Cookie with French Onion Soup. During dinner, I wanted something flavorsome and very enjoyable, so I choose Asparagus and mushrooms with Housemade Burrata. The combination was very delicious and deep with the flavor of the charred grape tomatoes. It was also nicely done with a touchy salt. My husband said that his stomach was already full, so he chose Lava cake with vanilla ice cream. We don’t like wine but during our last day in town, we had a chance to enjoy a taste of wines served by the glass. I selected fragrant & fruity flavor wile my husband took light and refreshing brands. We continued to frequent this restaurant until the last day of our trip. Every food in this restaurant delighted our soul and appetite. All the time we arrived at Flemings Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, we got the food quickly and the orders were perfect. Every food that we tasted was really delicious and more accomplished than the others we had tasted before. Personally, I am not a big fan of chocolate chip cookie. On most occasions I find the chocolate too overwhelming. But here, the chefs have tried to balance the ingredients used to prepare this menu. The pairing of the ingredients proved to be surprisingly excellent. Another thing we found unique about Flemings Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar is the harmonious ambience as a result of modern decorating setting. The environment features a unique blend of ambience and the building a dramatic Art Deco design with vibrant colors. The restaurant is a place like no other for travelers who want to have a private dining with their partners or friends. You will know the moment you arrive that you are welcome. The atmosphere alone will make you feel like you are at home away from home. If you ask me or my husband, we will tell you that Flemings Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar is a place to be if you are looking for award winning food and exceptional customer service. The Director of Wine Maeve Pesquera, Director of Guest Services Robyn Witham, and all the workers at Flemings Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar look forward to you dining with you.

Had a business dinner at this Fleming’s last night(6⁄16). Party was seated promptly and in a good location. And that’s when things started to go south. Although the steaks were excellent, petit filets and NY strips, sides were very good, our waiter, Jason, was not having a good night. After selling us on a house offered Cabernet, then telling us he couldn’t find any bottles in the cellar, after a delay that should have told us something, we finally were brought a replacement wine. At our request, the wine was decanted, but finally getting poured took awhile. Nothing like a bunch of guys waiting for a drink on a Thursday! After finishing one glass, Jason took our orders and then disappeared. The serving team descended, and delivered our meals but I had ordered a Caesar salad to start that never showed. While the sides were good, the fries were remnants and not of a standard you would expect from a high end steak place. Once the plates were cleared, we then sat for a good 15 minutes waiting while Jason was attending other tables. After calling the manager, we ordered coffee and dessert, of which only the coffees showed. After another 10 minute wait, we cancelled the desserts and asked for the check. To give some perspective, the water guy was the most attentive person there. Another table was getting similar service, called the manager and he took over their service. I have been to other Fleming’s and it has been an excellent experience. My hope is Jason and his manager were having an off night because they sure missed the mark last night. For the prices charged, it should have been much better. One note: we weren’t charged for the salad and did get comped for the coffees.

Steaks were cooked perfectly and our server was friendly and provided great recommendations for wine and dinner selections.

Let me start by saying Fleming’s has the best Happy Hour ever! The service at Fleming’s in Tyson’s Corner is exceptional. The food is ALWAYS delicious and the service superb! My wife and I are regulars and enjoy every visit!

I took one look at the prices on the restaurant menu and knew I’d be eating at the bar. Their best bar specials are available 5−7PM daily(including weekends), featuring cocktails, wines, and appetizers for $ 5, $ 6, or $ 7(e.g., calamari for $ 7, pork belly for $ 7, mushroom ravioli for $ 6). There is a notable $ 8 exception to the menu — a bacon cheeseburger with your choice of fries or onion rings — but it is totally worth paying that extra $ 1 since it is a full meal. If you order the burger, I’d get the fries though, since there’s only 2 onion rings. For me, the medium burger I ordered came out well done, so I might order the burger a little rarer just to make sure it doesn’t get overcooked. There is also a special menu from 8−10PM, featuring appetizers like 4 ahi tuna tacos for $ 9 and filet mignon flatbread for $ 11. There was a bit too much seaweed in the ahi tuna tacos(probably because seaweed is cheaper than ahi tuna), but the ahi tuna was delicious and I would order it again despite the disproportionate amount of seaweed. And if you happen to be at the bar any other time, the bar menu is still cheaper than the restaurant menu. For example, you’ll pay $ 14 for the bacon cheeseburger(instead of $ 85−7PM), $ 11 for the baked brie(which unfortunately tasted like it had blue cheese mixed in), and $ 11 or $ 12 for 4 ahi tuna tacos(instead of $ 98−10PM). Our waitress’ attention was divided during the crowded 5−7PM happy hour, but I was impressed that the manager took the time to come by each table to check on our food. Although the food wasn’t perfect, it was pretty good considering the prices.

I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. I made a reservation on OpenTable for us to have dinner last night only because we have never been and we had a $ 50 gift card from American Express that was about to expire. I mentioned in the comment section on OpenTable simply that we had an anniversary recently so a cozy booth would be great. I had no idea that the minute we walked in they would say, «Hi Mr. & Mrs. E., Happy Anniversary!» They then ushered us over to probably the best booth in the house that had little sparklys all over it that said«Happy Anniversary.» On our table was also an anniversary card signed by the staff. As we sat down the service was IMPECCABLE. We always split our meals and they brought each course divided beautifully, down to the chilled salad plates and the chilled forks they brought to us on a white napkin for our salads. Midway through dinner the manager came over to say, «Mr. & Mrs. E… we hope you are enjoying your anniversary dinner. We realize you could have chosen many places to dine tonight and are so grateful you chose here.» WOW. Then at the end they brought us a gift bag with a box of truffles inside and a gift card for $ 25 off our next visit. Unbelievable. We are still talking about it. MUSTGO if you live near one!!!

I have now taken my wife here twice. This place is amazing. The service is spectacular from the time you walk in the door you are greeted. The servers made us feel as if we were the only table they had. Anything we needed they were there. I had the prime rib and it was so tender. If I could afford it I would eat here everyday

Food is worth coming out for — definitely a nice place to stop in while trying to avoid the hustle and bustle of Tysons traffic! Service was a little on the slow side — thinking it was maybe just an off night? Other than that, drinks, entrees, and dessert were on point. Wish that they had more Virginia wine on their wine list, but when do I not want more local options? ;-) Highly recommend for happy hour!

Flemings is a great spot for a nice steak dinner! In addition to the perfectly cooked and seasoned steak, Flemings also has awesome potatoes, green beans, and Mac n cheese that we ordered to share as side dishes. The special when we attended included a crab empanada, a 4 oz filet, and a 4 oz lobster served with a choice of salad for only $ 44 — amazing deal! The crab empanada also was our favorite dish of the night. With free valet and attentive wait staff, I think the Flemings service is hard to beat. One member of our party was celebrating a birthday and got a $ 25 gift card and box of chocolates from our waitress, which was very nice and made our evening even more special.

Fleming’s is consistently excellent. I’ve been to the one in Tysons and the one in Birmingham, AL and they were both fantastic. Tonight, I had the lobster tempura(ahhh-mazing), petite filet mignon oscar style, and the chocolate lava cake. We also shared the asparagus, mac and cheese, and Fleming’s potatoes as sides. The steak was cooked perfectly and the béarnaise sauce was delicious. The sides were all very good, although my one minor complaint was that the Fleming’s potatoes, as delicious as they were, were not as piping hot as they should have been when they came out. Get the lava cake. It really is as amazing as everyone says it is. Even my mom, who doesn’t generally like desserts, loved it. The service was good and the free valet parking is a plus. Grab a few of the mints on the way out! They’re the delicious end to an epic meal.

So I first experienced Fleming’s when I came for a Unilocal event. I enjoyed the appetizers that were served and the drinks. They also handed out $ 25 gift cards. I decided I would bring my husband here for his birthday so we could get the full experience. His birthday came and we went to Fleming’s last night. I will say the service was awesome, some of the food was great, the drinks were great, they have complimentary parking, and they give out $ 25 gift cards and truffles for birthday gifts. What’s not to love right? Well I will say they are VERY pricy, which I figured they would be and I didn’t mind for his birthday. However, I would not pay just to come back and eat outside of any special occasion. I did not feel the food was that great for me to come back & pay $ 211 for 3 drinks, 1 appetizer, 1 salad, 2 entrees, 2 sides, and 1 dessert. Now, I get why they give out $ 25 gift cards on birthdays and on the receipt they give you $ 25 off of a $ 50 minimum order(which is VERY easy to meet) if you answer a survey. It’s an incentive to get people back since they are so pricy. Now onto the food and drinks… *Blackberry Bramble — I ordered this drink as I had it at the Unilocal event. It was very good. It’s a fruity taste with a splash of ginger. So good and refreshing! *Big Pour-PN Mark W.(Glass of wine) — my husband drank a full glass and then another ½ glass of this and said it was very good. It’s a red wine and has a dry taste. He loves dry wine. *Sweet Chile Calamari — this dish had good flavors as far as the sauce. It was like a Thai inspired flavor that had peppers and banana peppers served with the calamari. The sauce was awesome. However, the calamari itself was not cooked well. I love calamari and have had it at so many restaurants. This appeared to be overcooked and rubbery tasting. Very chewy and seemed like I chewed one piece for like 2 minutes. Wasn’t cooked well. The sauce is want saved this dish. The texture was still bad but the sauce helped coat it. *Modern Caesar Salad — my husband loves Caesar Salad and asked me to share one with him. The salad was ok. I liked they added capers and bacon. To me this dish wasn’t anything special. To me the lettuce could have been a little more fresh and had more of a crisp crunch to it. The lettuce seemed a little wilted or overdressed. Wasn’t horrible but just giving honest criticism *BBQ Salmon — the salmon was cooked well and seasoned well. The garnish of peppers and mushrooms was a nice touch. Overall pretty good. Was it the best salmon I have had, no, but it wasn’t horrible. *Main Filet Mignon topped with Diablo Shrimp — my husband ordered this dish. He really liked it. I also tasted a piece and it was very good. I do not eat steak and even I liked it. My husband said it was a little under seasoned but cooked very well and tender. I would agree, nicely cooked. *Creamed Spinach– very good, nice and creamy! Enough for 2 people to share. *Fleming’s Potatoes — basically potato gratin. It’s served in a square block. It was very good. Nice and cheesy. Enough for 2 people to share. *Chocolate Lava Cake — made fresh to order. You have to inform your waiter 20 minutes before your done eating dinner. They make and bake it fresh to order which I love. It comes out nice and hot with 2 scoops of ice cream. Awesome! Crisp outside with a hot and gooey inside. Then in the center is nice hot runny chocolate. The ice cream was also good. This dish is just all around great! Overall, Fleming’s Steakhouse was nice to experience for my husband’s birthday. We normally do not go to other steakhouses because we love Ruth’s Chris. The best, haha, but it was nice to try something different. If you do go I would recommend you go for an occasion. Would we go back. Mmm. I’m sure we will but we aren’t in a big hurry.

The hostesses and valet guys were very polite. They were very nice in accommodating our early arrival from our originally scheduled reservation time. None of them were stuck up even though it’s a fancy steakhouse which is a big plus for me. This is a great place for a date night or a large group outing. During my last visit, my friend and I ordered the lobster tempura appetizer, a 20 oz. bone-in ribeye, mashed potatoes, jalapeño mac & cheese and the chocolate lava cake. The tempura was just good in my opinion — not bad, not amazing. It was very similar to the fried ginger scallion lobster that you would get at a Chinese restaurant so I didn’t find it necessary to pay almost as much but get half the amount that you would at a Chinese restaurant. The bone-in ribeye that we ordered was nothing short of amazing. I asked for medium rare and they cooked it just right both times I’ve been here. A big plus for me are the complimentary sauces that you can get for your steaks. Mashed potatoes and jalapeño mac & cheese(drool) = 5 stars here need I say more? That chocolate lava cake took care of my sweets cravings. Keep in mind that it takes about 15 minutes to make(the server will remind you of this as well). It was fresh out of the oven and perfect(not to mention that I am NOT a fan of chocolate). The only downside is the overpriced wine hence my one star deduction. I ordered a glass of cabernet that was $ 25 for 9 oz. which I found just a little bit steep.

Best place to hold a high end company party. Gayle and Donna are the very best servers, ever! They are kind, helpful and efficient. Donna is a superstar working with guests who have allergies — our guy was so happy, he wanted to learn how to Unilocal so he could talk about her! We had the Select Reserve Dinner and it met everyone’s needs. I would recommend though that everyone order the filet mignon, it was the best of the two steaks(the other the rib eye) and my filet was the envy of the table! Working with Maggie to set this event up was easy and fun. She made sure everything was taken care of. I have already booked for next year!

I’ve been to this Tysons location about times. Every time I go I always have great service. We attempt to try something new every time. We were really impressed on this last visit by the size of their onion rings! Holy cow. So good. The chilled seafood tower(which really isn’t a tower) is pricey but perfect for a seafood lover! Beautiful presentation. Abundant food. I always order a wine flight, which isn’t on the menu anymore(I don’t believe). Jolie-Pitt wine is on the menu and is pricey — but so good. I recommend it.

Flemings really exceeded my expectations especially after I found out they were part of the Bloomin’ Brands who also operate Outback, Carrabba’s and Bonefish. We celebrated my husband’s birthday just this week. When I asked him where he wanted to go for dinner, he suggested trying somewhere new and because he loves his prime steaks, Fleming’s it was. I made a reservation for Tuesday night and let them know about my husband’s birthday. We arrived at our reservation early figuring they would have no trouble accommodating us on a rainy Tuesday night. After a brief 5 minute wait(to set up the table with confetti and a birthday card) we were led to our booth. Marie was our server and let me just say she was exceptional. She was friendly, professional and took the time to answer our questions — we had quite a few about the different sauces offered with the steaks. In fact she brought us three samples(gorgonzola cream, peppercorn sauce and F17 sauce) so we could taste and decide which was our favorite. She even ensured the valet had our car waiting for us when we left the restaurant. It’s not often we receive such attentive service, especially on a first time visit! We started with cocktails as we were perusing the wine menu. I love that they serve 100 wines by the glass, but for my husband’s birthday we decided a nice bottle of cabernet was in order. The wines are not only listed in the menu, but electronically on a tablet. It was nice to click on a particular wine to get a description. This made ordering less daunting and encouraged us to try a wine we had not had before. For an appetizer, we shared the seared ahi tuna with fresh vegetable salad and spicy mustard sauce. Delicious, perfectly seasoned, fresh — my only complaint being I would have loved more of that spicy mustard sauce. Great start to our meal. Entrees were the certified angus beef block-cut craftsman ribeye served crusted(pink center) for my husband and the petit filet mignon with porcini mushroom rub, black truffle butter and gorgonzola cream served medium rare for me. We ordered the Fleming’s potatoes and spicy Thai green beans as sides. I am not a fan of gorgonzola to be honest, but wanted to try this different spin on the filet and I am so glad I did. Wow — tender steak packed with so much flavor. My husband asked for both the peppercorn sauce and the F17(all the sauces we tried were so good) with his steak and he enjoyed both. They serve the sauces on the side so you can use based on your individual taste. I hate a good steak buried in sauce. The Fleming’s potatoes were truly some of the best au gratin potatoes I have ever had(and I make a pretty decent potatoes au gratin). These were loaded with cheese(I am guessing cheddar and jack), studded with jalapenos, crispy on top and deliciously creamy in the center. The Thai green beans were equally delicious and did have a bit of spice to them. If you are super sensitive to spice you may want to avoid, but I found them absolutely delicious. When Marie brought our meal, she told us about the molten chocolate cake which takes 20 minutes to prepare. Of course, we accepted. Can’t celebrate a birthday without cake! I am so glad we did — molten chocolate goodness spewing out of the slightly crispy on the outside dark chocolate cake served with two small scoops of vanilla and fresh raspberries. To say I was stuffed when we finished is an understatement. All through the night, everyone who stopped by the table wished my husband a happy birthday. Sadly(or happily in his case) there was no embarrassing singing. However, he did receive a nice box of truffles and a $ 25 gift card for a next visit as a gift. This was a fantastic experience from start to finish with really delicious food to boot. While the décor may not be as intimate or modern as other prime steakhouses, the food and service certainly made up for that. We will be back.

So, here I go again about my pricing comparisons between Atlanta and DC. My only hope is that the prices are reflective solely on cost of living differential and not purposefully and solely on the quality of food and service received by the customer. In Atlanta, I could get this quality for about 75% of what I paid at Flemings. The steak was definitely in my top five in terms of overall quality. It was cooked to perfection and had wonderful flavor without any of the sauces or seasonings that you could ask for on the side. The dessert was great, but if you want good cheesecake, save yourself a few bucks and go to the Cheesecake factory across the street — same quality at lower prices. Even the after dinner coffee was excellent. What I didn’t like was the a-la-carte configuration which seems to be growing ever more common these days. Just give me a bloody piece of meat with a couple of veggies so I can pig out in style. If I’m paying $ 50 for a filet, it had better come with veggies(or maybe a sexual favor on the side). But, not to worry — the filet tasted almost as good as you-know-what. The only complaint I had was told to me by a coworker after I had left the establishment. The person who brought our meals to the table had fingernails that were gray/dirty and filed into claws(at least the thumbnail). If I had seen this, I would have asked for another plate, because my coworker told me that his nail was so long that it touched his food. He’s a shy type who is hesitant on asking for things at places like this. This is the main cause for lack of five stars, coupled with the overall value. All in all, the service was excellent — not overbearing or serve and forget types of wait staff. The food was excellent, albeit pricey. I’d recommend it again for anyone looking for an expensive treat. We were able to get out of there at an average of $ 100 per person, with two drinks, a meat, a vegetable(enough for two to share) and a dessert. TL:DR version — Really good steaks; expensive compared to other places I’ve been; Service excellent but could use some minor adjustments to hygiene.

One of the best chain steakhouses! The food is always consistently good, and service excellent majority of the time. Start off with fresh baked seasoned bread with 2 spreads — the tomato is our favorite. Appetizers: both the french onion soup and shrimp bisque are very good, calamari is bursting with flavors, lobster tempura unique and delicious. The wedge salad is decent, but don’t expect anything too special out of the salads. The prime rib is delicious, comes withe 3 sauces and cooked to a good level of what you request. It’s still my favorite even after trying 3 other cuts. Mash potatoes, mac & cheese, and asparagus are all delicious sides to go with. Lastly, don’t skip on the chocolate lava cake = super rich and yummy. Or, you could go for a slice of their cheesecake or carrot cake, all very good.

This review is based on the bar area during happy hour. The bartender was very friendly and took time to know our names and explain the menu. A bonus especially around the Tyson area. Happy hour is always everyday here during I believe 5 – 6? Everything on the menu that includes drinks and food is under $ 7. Score! My friend and I both ordered their burger which is topped with bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and red onion. With the burger you can get their deliciously seasoned fries or two huge onion rings. I got the onion rings and they come with a delicious sauce for dipping. The leftover dip can be used for fries or the burger. Of course did this with a few stolen fries from my friend’s plate. I did have a small problem with beer. I orders a Stella on draft and it had a funny taste. My friend tasted it to and said yeah she is right. The bartender cleared the lines twice. It still was not 100% delicious Stella taste. Sad face

Fantastic food, fantastic company, and fantastic service — what more could you ask for? I had my first dining experience at Fleming’s last night, and I daresay it won’t be my last. While the fact that the restaurant is attached to the Crown Plaza Tysons and the interior décor is a little bit dated, service was top-notch and the food was excellent. The restaurant offers an electronic wine menu that, while you can’t order from it, allows you to peruse the hundreds of wines that Fleming’s offers in more detail, so you can make a more informed decision. I chose a Wilammette Valley Pinot Noir called, elegantly, «Wine by Joe» and it was delicious! I can’t wait to(hopefully!) find it at my local wine store. Both my friend and I started with the caesar salad… or at least, we both meant to. I must have been so caught up in the thrill of ordering that I actually forgot to order mine! But once my friend’s came out and I commented on how good it looked, the server asked if I wanted one too and all was right with the world. It came out super quickly, as well! The salad was delicious, with cold, crisp romaine and these delicious crispy prosciutto chips on top. A very nice way to start, in addition to the complimentary bread, of course, which came with two light, unexpected, and delightful spreads — tomato and gorgonzola! For my main course, I got the Newport filet, which was a 6 oz. cut of filet mignon served with Fleming’s potatoes. The sides are listed a la carte, so my friend and I shared the truffled mashed potatoes and creamed spinach, but I also wanted to try the house potatoes, so it was great that the Newport filet came with a smaller portion of those! My filet was perfectly cooked to my specifications(medium rare), tender, and flavorful. A really great steak. The sides were all delicious, although the consistency of the mashed potatoes was actually a little too delicate for me, and not particularly truffle-y. Still good though! When we ordered our main meals, our waiter informed us that one of their desserts — the chocolate lava cake — took twenty minutes to prepare and thus it’s a dessert that’s best ordered when you order your entrees. Maybe it was just a sales tactic, but it certainly worked on us! We ordered the lava cake and the crème brûlée for dessert. Both were fantastic, but that lava cake definitely took, uh, the cake. It was outstanding! The molten chocolate center was out of this world, and it was served with some fresh raspberries on top, crunchy pistachios on the bottom, and some vanilla ice cream on the side. To be honest, we should only have ordered one dessert to share as they were pretty substantial, but OHWELL. Life’s short, right? And, I mean, even shorter now that I ate all that. ;) I would absolutely go back to Fleming’s next time I’m craving a great meal with impeccable service. It’s not a place to get a cheap meal, as most steakhouses aren’t, and it’s old school steakhouse vibe isn’t necessarily where I’d think of for a romantic night out, but for a night spent catching up with friends, treating a client, or just a great dinner out, it’s definitely on the list.
