The oyster nachos were yummy!!! There are only 6 though. Then shrimp/​grits and the lump crab sandwich for our dinner. Liked the casual atmosphere and the music in the background. Fun to watch the open kitchen too. Nice find.

Not to be overly dramatic, but I just had the perfect meal (for me!). I started with ½ Dz. of Char-​Grilled Lemon-​Garlic Butter Oysters that were superb! I asked for some bread to soak up the sauce so I wouldn’t waste a drop. (Ok…I am guilty of drinking the garlic butter sauce out of one before the bread arrived.) Then I ordered a cup of Crab Bisque that was so good, after the first bite I started to wonder whether or not I could find the recipe online! My waiter did a great job of selecting which drink would complement each dish. I am now a fan of Fish City Grill in Tyler… a HUGE fan!

Made a reservation for a Thursday at 6:30 for 20 people on a tues at 1:00. Spoke to the lunch manager. Have them my name and phone #. He asked me to call 30min before the reservation to confirm we were still coming. I called at 5:50 and NO RESERVATION! They put me on hold for 5 min and the night manager came on asking me if we could come at 7 or 7:30! I told her no that I have 20 exhausted teachers in a hotel for two weeks. We cannot wait and that’s why I made a reservation. I arrived at 6:15 and manager was setting up various booths around the restaurant. I told her to stop because that won’t work. She said there was nothing she could do. So I called another restaurant, and we left. They lost out on $ 500 worth of business!

I’m so glad I stopped by today. The service was excellent and the food #amazing!!!
I had the oyster nachos. Sorry I didn’t take a pic because when I thought about it the plate was empty. #delicious
The shrimp and grits were equally as fabulous. They looked great, were spice but not tongue burning, and very filling. So grateful for the opportunity to stop by and grab a bite. The music is easy going and the conversation from the locals is «gut busting». #hilarious
I will definitely be back with friends, coworkers, and family. Cheers to Fish City Grill!

Before we ordered our meal, the waitress brought us samples of the big selection of soups they offer. We also sampled the oyster nachos which were awesome. I had the pick 2 combo with grilled shrimp and the blackened catfish. It tasted delicious. The Margarita drink was good too. Customer service was great! During our meal, we were checked on numerous times. For dessert, we had the bread pudding. Tasted great! As far as the appearance of the dining area, it was fine. The place looked clean. Service and food was great! Will be back again.

I’ve been in the service industry for a long time. Cash as our server was phenomenal. Juan came by and made recommendations on food, of which we ordered, and had a fat happy time!!!

Fish City Grill has such a tremendous menu that we have decided to cancel our food tour of the coast — got everything I needed right there. Aside from the menu, the food was outstanding and the service was top notch. When I mentioned to the server that it was our first time in the restaurant, she promptly brought two plates of samples from the Oyster Nachos to the variety of soups (which I will order next time as they were all amazing). The restaurant is clean and comfortable with a casual lighting that enhances the enjoyment of eating their seafood. I ordered the Beer Battered Shrimp which was fried to perfection and served with a deliciously rich white sauce (tartar sauce?) for dipping. Overall, I gave five stars because I could not find a weakness in my experience.

love the food, my only complaint is the oysters are very small… takes 3 or 4 for one cracker. for the price of $ 15.99 a dozen they should be regular size but they are like baby oysters & today when we ate there the waitress said you would no longer be serving oyster rockerfeller. We drive over an hour just to eat there would love to see the oyster problem improve. The crabs & shrimp for two is awesome!

We found this place while staying at a cabin near by and I have to say I’m happy we did! It was quiet, the food was very good and the drinks were poured nicely. The fish was fresh and cooked properly, and the staff was very welcoming. The portions were more than adequate for the price. Between the two of us we had a sampling of a gold portion of the menu and it was good, nothing overworked or trying to be something they weren’t. Just simple fish faire.
I will always remember their drink menu though. It made me laugh for sure.

Went for a business lunch. We made a confusing table, since 2 arrived early, 3 joined at noon, then late joiner and I stayed late to talk. The waiter got confused, undercharged us, and I tried to point it out, but he disagreed and so we got a great deal.
Food was, again, 3 stars I had fish and chips and it was perfectly average.

Every time we’re in Tyler, we have to eat at Fish City Grill ! The food is always delicious… the wait staff is friendly and the atmosphere is comfortably casual.
I usually start off with a Wedding Cake Martini & some Seafood Gumbo. Hubby really likes the Oyster Nachos.
For our entrees, I like the Shrimp & Grits or the Fish Tacos… I’m droolin’ just thinkin’ about ‘em! Hubby likes the Fish Tacos, as well. I will try the BBQ Shrimp next time… looks YummmOla!
Fish City never disappoints. We’re lookin’ forward to our next visit.

In town for a visit with my Aunt. We decided to have a late lunch here before the afternoon movie. The blackboard menu looked enticing so I ordered the blackened catfish. My Aunt ordered the fish and chips. When the entrees were served, I realized The catfish were much too spicy. I asked the waiter if I could change for the seafood, sausage and chicken gumbo. Good choice. Some of the best gumbo I have had inside or outside New Orleans. Good vinegary slaw also. My Aunt enjoyed her fish and chips as they were mild and not greasy.
Solomon was our waiter and I would recommend him and personally ask for him again. The manager was very professional and came by to check, as did our waiter, to see if the second order came out okay. All in all, was impressed by the level of service and food. Will gladly go by again to try the key lime pie for dessert.

Being a new resident to Tyler, I wasn’t sure where to go for «fish.» Well, the name says it all, so after a day of shopping, wifey and I saw «Fish City Grill» from across the parking lot. We perused through the menu, and were sold.
When entering, we were quickly greeted, and seated, by the friendly hostess. Our server, Jason (I think) was also quick to greet us, and brought our drinks out. The wife ordered a margarita, and it was delicious. I was simple, and opted for a Shiner.
For our entrees, the wife did the catfish, and I ordered, per our server’s recommendation, the ‘nawlins bbq shrimp. The bbq shrimp was very tasty. I’ve never been a catfish eater and have only tasted it a few times, but I must admit– it was very good, and the wife agreed.
Good food, good drinks, and the service (from Mgmt, the server, and hostess) was top notch. I’ll definitely return.
