The customer service is good. Very fast. It is more authentic phở than the ones I have tried before. The prices are also more reasonable. The place is casual, with old furniture. So set your expectation to get a good food in a short time, and you won’t be disappointed.

When work gets busy and I want a quick bowl of noodles for lunch, this is one of the places that I go. Phở Hung Vuong is located on Newport Avenue across the street from THH. They share their building with a donut shop. Phở and donuts… they are a great combo for a quick lunch. They serve both phở, egg noodles, and rice dishes. Their phở is decent. It comes with all the ordinary assortments of meat, rare steak, tendon, tripe, brisket and flank. The soup is okay tasting. It isn’t the best phở that I have had, nor does it rank among the worst. Their egg noodles are also okay. The bowl I get comes with shrimp, squid, imitation crab, and pork. It is enough to fill me up. Service is okay. Typical for an Asian restaurant. They like to take your order quickly to get you in and out of there quickly. If you are lost in the area, and need to eat phở, they are okay. Service is fast. If you are still hungry after eating, just go next door and get a donut!

Pretty good Phở. Had the special combo but did not like the meatballs. Probably a personal thing. Otherwise the broth was solid and portion/price were appropriate. I will go back.

Had the phở and egg rolls(best egg rolls I’ve had in the OC). It’s near closing time, so they kill the music to queue exit. Anyhow, I get up to wash my hands to rinse the fish sauce off due to the lettuce wrap. As I approach the restroom, the aged waiter is entering it so I hold back. Long story short, the man can’t bother to close the door while he relieves himself and then walks out without washing his hands. We make eye contact and he just goes on his merry way… Never goin back. I’d give this place zero stars if I could.

Fast. Literally ordered 2 orders or phở and fried rice as soon as we sat down. I went to bathroom, came out, and food was on the table 30 seconds later. The food tasted good. No complaints. I saw some Unilocal reviews about this place that said the workers charged more tip by adding extra numbers on the receipt after you leave. That is a disgrace and unacceptable if it true. However I pay in cash, so this is no concern for me. I came for food and I was hungry. I got the food and it tasted good. I also got the food fast. What more is there to ask for? Come here if you are craving some phở and are in the area.

Came here on a whim when I wasn’t feeling well and phở is comfort food for me. Pretty empty on a Friday night just one other party there. We sat at a table next to the window. Décor is a little dated but seemed authentic. Service wasn’t anything special. They took our order and brought out the phở immediately. I got the rare steak and well done brisket. Good amount of meat in my phở. $ 6.50 I think for a small which was enough for me to feel full. Broth wasn’t the best I’ve had but it’s good. It did take us like five minutes of sitting there with empty bowls to try to get one of the waitresses to get us the check. Parking is in the small lot next to the restaurant. Good if you have a craving for phở and just need it fast and you live in the area. Which was my situation. Don’t expect to be blown away.

The food is ok. Not to bad. But My husband had a bad experience about dishonesty here. Pls watch your statement !! He bought 7 $ noodle soup n wrote 1 $ tip on the credit card receipt n guess what, one of the staff added«0» after the 1 $ so that left them with 10 $ tip instead of 1 $. That’s a fraud n unacceptable !!! I hope it won’t happen again here !!!

There’s no effort in making this kind of food or lack of experience in cooking. Presentation was none.

Store may look ghetto on the outside and in, but the food is pretty good. I was looking forward to donuts with my Phở but that fantasy was shattered when I noticed the donut shop wasn’t open. :*( Large Phở Tai — this bowl is what a large should be. Full of meats — not the most prime cuts but the slices are thick and have a nice chew. The quality of the basil/mint/sprout combo was very fresh. BBQ chicken w/rice — also a large portion complete with the usual fresh vegetable accompaniments. There were some char marks on the chicken that needed to be sliced off but the meat remained juicy and you can taste their unique blend of spices. Café su da — ordinary caffeine packed drink. Nice to know you can get filled up on Vietnamese food here at a decent price.

We walk in and find the restaurant maybe a quarter full. There are 2 waiters sitting near the kitchen doors and a nicely dressed lady behind the front desk reading a magazine… hmmmm So I got the feeling customer service was not going to be great right off the bat. We walk in and the lady behind the counter sits us right next to the kitchen doors. I ask to sit elsewhere because I didn’t feel like getting hit by the kitchen doors during my meal. Plus the fact that there was a lot of other open tables, not sure why she sat us there. I order the spring roll and the egg noodles with beef as well as a thai tea. The tea was good but the glass was 2⁄3 ice and very little tea, disappointing! The food came out pretty quick and tasted ok. The spring rolls were bland. I like my spring rolls to have a lot of herbal flavor but these were not. The egg noodle with beef was ok but no big wow. Throughout our meal nobody checked in on us, or asked if we wanted refills. Halfway through our meal a couple came in to pick up an order they placed over the phone. The girl had no record of the order. So the couple very nicely placed the order and sat down to wait. When the girl called them up to pay the order was incorrect. It took them a total of 15 minutes and 5 attempts to finally get the order right because the girl behind the counter kept getting it wrong. Poor couple but at least they just laughed it off. I would have said forget it and left. When we were done with our meal I tried to waive down the waiters sitting next to the kitchen doors but they never came. I had to go ask the front desk girl to get me some boxes and then walked up to the counter to pay the bill so we could leave. The girl couldn’t work the register, she got all nervous and I just waited trying to be patient. They really need to work on their customer service!

Across the plaza from THH sandwiches and off of Newport and 5, this phở place is okay with ample seating. When we went, saw mostly small group of non-Asians dining or Asian with a large party. Décor: a little outdated with sticky tabletop, not sure if they wipe it down, but they do put paper placemat on the tables. Food: ~$ 6 for a small bowl of phở or $ 7+ for a large. Food tastes okay, not something you’d drive out for. Service: slow and average. Took us more than 10 min to get a bowl of phở, not sure if they forgot about us or what… people who came/ordered after us got their food first.

When we first got there it smelled like a wet sponge that has been sitting with water in it for days. We finally figured out it was the dishes. The egg rolls tasted like a different meat we had never tried before and still have no idea what they were and they looked like they were fried multiple times. The phở is extremely bland. No taste whatsoever. My bf says it tastes like the water they used to wash the dishes. The only good thing about our experience is they took the egg rolls off the bill. I wouldn’t recommend it to one person. It was so bad that we wanted to tell the people that walked through the door to turn back. I felt bad writing this review because I know it would effect their business. But truth is they shouldn’t even be in the restaurant business.

This place sucks so much. It was an empty Monday night, and we were able to sit wherever we wanted. The server came and threw the menus down in front of us. No, he didn’t hand it to us or set it down on the table. He threw it down at us. The tables were super sticky, and everything just seemed so unsanitary. There was also a really weird smell all around. We ordered spring rolls, which came rather quickly. Our phở, on the other hand, took probably a good 20 minutes to get to us. I’m pretty sure the server forgot to put our order in because people who ordered after us got their food before we did. And when our food finally arrived, he set it down on our table without a single word. He seemed more annoyed to be serving us. Definitely not the most enjoyable meal. No chance of coming back again.

Good food and at a reasonable price! Shrimp rolls are to die for with peanut and fish base sauce. Service– not good! No smiles and checking if you need refill on water. We had to ask for a refill on water. Overall– you want good food and decent price this is the place to be.

3.5 stars The food is authentic and is priced pretty low which is great, but what the place lacks is ambiance. I came late on a Thursday night and there were about 2 – 3 other people in this pretty big restaurant. That being said, we were attended to pretty quickly and our food came out 5 – 8 minutes after we ordered it. We were in and out within half an hour!

This is a decent place to grab some lunch. There’s not much of a wait, which is great, and the prices and portions here are pretty good. I ordered the charboiled pork, egg rolls and vermicelli noodles. The fish sauce was okay. The dish itself was pretty standard, but I know that I’ve had better elsewhere. Service was good. They bring the food to you pretty fast so you won’t be pressed on time. I wouldn’t mind coming here again since it’s convenient to where I did my clinicals.

This place can be summed up in one haiku: Oh dear bowl of Phở Legit I know ye be for No white folk I see For my money, best bowl of Phở in Tustin. Service is fast and quality of ingredients is high. Thai iced tea is on point as well.

This is my go to phở place, close and gets the job done. I’ve been here twice so far, neither time was crowded. Seems like a lot of people come here for to go orders. The staff is not overly friendly, but they are cool and very fast and efficient from what I’ve seen. The restaurant is clean, and has a lot of long tables, good for groups. I’ve gotten the phở with rare steak both times, it’s good. My favorite part of the soup was probably the steak, it’s not rubbery like I get at a lot of phở places. The broth and noodles were both good. Not the best phở place I’ve ever been to, but definitely good enough to hit the spot if you’re craving phở.

My Co-workers and I have been coming here for the last several years. There’s other Phở restaurants in the area, some even closer to our office, but this is one we come to. The layout is a bit strange, you might end up sharing a table with a complete stranger, but its okay, just remember they are just as afraid of you as you are of them! First, the vermicelli dishes, nothing out of the ordinary, same as all the other Vietnamese restaurants, portions are comparable. They especially do a good job with the vermicelli with egg rolls. Crispy, well cooked, well prepared and the presentation isn’t sloppy or unappealing. The Phở, a staple in the Vietnamese culture, cooked beautifully without too much of that fatty residue that typically pools at the top. The wait staff is nice, but usually forget what you ordered if you come in a group, so I advise you to remember what you got. Several times I’ve had a dish put in front of me then taken away because of a mix up. So don’t dive in right away. Parking is tight, very tight, but there’s a domino’s next to it with a small parking lot too if you really must park there.
