Solid Vietnamese Chinese restaurant. It’s a hole in the wall but it’s clean. As some have indicated, it’s probably not a place to bring on a first date. But by the 10th date, it’d be fine. ;) They have the cafeteria style combos, which are fine. But you should come here to order off of the menu. I’ve had the bun bo hue many times and it’s excellent. The phở dishes are good too. And of course you can’t go wrong with the $ 0.50 egg rolls. But the best dish IMO is the bun vit sao mang — it’s to die far. Unfortunately they only serve it on Thursdays and Fridays, IIRC. The owner and the staff is always very friendly. I’ll be back many more times, I’m sure.

The food is not bad, but the best part is PRICE! Egg roll is good and only 50 cents. I would not take my fist date or small children there. Very small venue and it is not a very friendly neighbor. Parking is horrible, street is long and tight too. It locates within seconds to freeway 5, it is great if you hop in and out to get food on the run. Other than that, you know…

I’ve heard about this place for years but always forget to try it. Maybe because it’s hidden? My girlfriend and I were able to have lunch here yesterday. She had the hu tieu, I ordered the bun rieu Oc. They were both very tasty and comparable to Bolsa food. The only thing that dissapointed me was that the snails didn’t taste fresh. They also have a good selection of food to go. I’m definitely coming back to try the bun bo hue.

This Bun Bo Hue here is south county magic. 7.95 a bowl, but for Tustin I do not mind one bit! If you order to go it comes in a ready to eat bowl. All you’ve got to do is pour the broth in. This tasty little gem apparently has been here since 1988! why I have not discovered it is beyond me. Close to home and delicious! im going back tonight. One more good thing on Newport Ave.

Workers here are very nice and friendly. Prices for food are affordable. Most of the food i bought are good except for phở. Ordered 2 bowls of phở and i didn’t finish it. The broth was really plain… almost like they poured boiled water on my noodles. But i was there an hour before they close so i dont know if i got the crappy left overs. egg rolls were really good.

Came here because I was craving bahn mi and I ordered the shredded chicken. It was pretty dry and they filled it with a scant amount of veggies. Prices were okay but they charge you 0.50 for paying with a CC.

This is a quick and casual spot that serves both Vietnamese noodle dishes and Chinese«buffet-style» food. The owners are Vietnamese and all their noodle dishes are displayed above the counter. It’s strange there are no prices next to the items though. The parking lot here is tiny and shared among several businesses. I’d probably avoid this during peak lunch hours. My boyfriend and I tried #5(vermicelli salad with pork and egg rolls) and #8(bo bun hue). It was $ 14 for the two items and the portions were huge. However, both were average in taste. The food actually came out quicker than most Vietnamese places, which is already fast.

I’ve been on a Vietnamese food kick lately so here goes another review. I think«hole-in-the-wall» would be an upgraded term to describe this place. Nevertheless, it is one of those family-owned joints that’s been around since the 80s(says so on their photocopied paper menu) that will never disappoint. The one thing I hate about living in Anaheim is that there are an abundant amount of phở restaurants but barely any Vietnamese restaurant that serves more than just phở, unless you want to go trekking towards Garden Grove. This is not the place to go to if you expect ambience, plating design or air conditioning. But this is the place to get your take-out or dine-in if you want a good hearty bowl of bun rieu(tomatoey-based soup with crab roe and ground pork), tasty and crispy egg rolls($ 0.50 each) and/or seafood and BBQ pork clear noodle soup. I come here at least once a week now to get my order to-go since I substitute the noodles at home with different veggies and spaghetti squash or some other low-carb option. So tasty and never disappoints!

This place is amazing. Such flavor. I always get their bahn mi sandwiches. The BBQ pork is so good. and 50 cent egg rolls. Can’t beat this little hole in the wall. Support this gem

The spring rolls are great, fresh and made to order. Their take-out food looked like it had been sitting for some time in heater trays– it look unappetizing and was dry and tasteless. Order the spring rolls to-go but give the rest of their food a rain check.

I absolutely love their food & drinks and the atmosphere. It’s very clean inside and the owner is super nice that he will make you leave the place with smiles. My very fav is #6 and their fresh lemon drink is so refreshing. Hope everyone gives it a try if you haven’t gotten addicted already :)

I love this place. All people here are super friendly especially the owner. Food is always quick, cheap and delicious. One egg roll for 50 cents and $ 1.50 for one item… super cheap!

They’re supposed to open at 8:30am, but by 8:34am that’s when all the workers enter through the front door. They accept cash, but you will be charged. 50 cents if u use a credit card. water here is not free, but they do put it in a med size tyrofoam cup. Their bun rieu is a bit salty, not meaty, and definitely not filling. I wouldn’t get this if I was hungry.

My husband and I usually go to THH, but when we found Kim Houng we found our new favorite porridge spot :) My husband and I have a thing for porridge: chao, congee, juk… we love any type of Asian porridge. One day we were craving chao and after doing some searching on Unilocal we found Kim Houng. We’ve only had the food for take out and I had to knock down a star because it’s cash only. However, the chao is SOGOOD! The consistency is great and they put a lot of meat in the chao. The beef one is the only one we’ve tried thus far and it’s so good! Next time I’ll have to try the seafood one. Overall: highly recommended!!! They also have a fast food style layout where each item is $ 1.50. We got the bbq pork which was great and the shrimp which was not so great.

The old owner was much better. This guy is too pushy and trying to get you to order more expensive dish and order more food then you can consume. I am already fat as is I don’t really need his assistance. Lol On top of it, they charge 50 cents for water. Bbq pork from the old owner used to be crunchy now soggy. Food isn’t the same anymore.

Decently priced food overall and better quality food than fast food chains with the same pricing tiers

Located in a very unassuming strip mall, this fast food joint does catering and sells pans of food by the pound. I have come here a few times for my party needs because of its reasonable pricing and their food that is decent enough for you to serve at a function. Unfortunately over the years, their prices have really gone up that I’m not sure if it matches to the quality of food they produce. Their EGGROLLS are 50 cents a pop but they’re not the best. Their pork goes for $ 10/lb and the pork dish that I would recommend here is the ROASTPORK which is chopped up pork belly with crispy skin on the top. I taste star anise which is probably one of the spices used in their marinade. With its strong flavor profile, this spice must be used carefully and lightly. Sadly, they didn’t. Our guests thought it was similar to a Filipino dish we call«lechon kawali» except for that certain flavor coming out. Not sure if they changed owners or they have a new chef but I thought this dish was better back in the day. For half a tray, it was about 4lbs. worth of meat. A small tray of veggies cost me about $ 30. I normally get their CHINESEBROCCOLI with TOFU for my non-carnivore friends. They cook this fresh as soon as you arrive for pickup so make sure you give time allowance for that. A bit too heavy on the black pepper this time around but everyone didn’t seem to notice but me. Their fried rice, bbq pork, and chow mein are a few other things I ordered here in the past but all in catering pans. They’re OK, not WOW good. They also have food ready made where you can order as a meal for a quick lunch and some soup dishes such as phở that is made to order. Come prepared as this spot has terrible parking and they only accept cash. Closed on Sundays!

I’m so glad I found this place! Especially since it’s so close and I can get my Vietnamese food fix without dealing with Garden Grove traffic. I love the service here! The owners are Vietnamese and it’s very traditional here. Gave my guy friend Vietnamese life tips. You order at the counter — can pick from the menu on top or from the food behind the glass to go style. All of it looked delicious! Ordered bun rieu, bun Bo hue and com tam and three iced teas — all for $ 22 dollars! The bowls and plates are huge! A lot bigger than expected which was a good surprise. Although I only like my family’s home cooking, this place is still really good for the price and service. Would definitely come back and would definitely recommend for anyone craving Vietnamese food in the area.
