A-OK sounds about right haha. came here for lunch on a saturday afternoon and the place wasnt too crowded at all. 2 separate lines for ordering — 1 for salad and the other for pasta. pretty simple haha. i opted to go the salad route and i did appreciate that all the salads are made fresh and to order. $ 7 for the portion seemed pretty fair too although since i wanted to add chicken it was an additional $ 2 but still i didnt feel it was too over priced. my caesar salad was fine, nothing special. it got me full for lunch and no complaints. the only awkward part of my experience was waiting to pay. i was in the salad line and Justin B. was in the hot food line so with the restaurant set up, we meet in the middle at the cashiers and are ready to pay but wait… i have my salad on my tray but justin b. is still waiting for his pasta to be cooked. Until he has his food on his tray, they won’t let us pay together. i can pay for my salad and then do another transaction once he gets his food, but if we want to pay 1 bill together, he literally has to have food in front of him before the cashier will help us. do they not trust their customers to tell the cashier an accurate order? do they think that we’ll cheat them by telling them we ordered 1 dish but really got another that costs more? just a weird rule — and it wouldnt be an issue if the timing was better for the food too. maybe they should take a page from other cafeteria style restaurants(i.e. lemonade, tender greens, or urban plates) where the food comes out all together at the same time so that customers can actually eat and pay together…

Ordered a to-go order of tomato basil soup, pasta, and Asian chopped salad right before they close and I wasn’t expecting it to be a mediocre sized portion. You order your pasta by picking which pasta you like plus you add a sauce and a side. Ended up getting the whole wheat pasta with a pesto sauce and a side of salmon. Surprisingly it came out pretty quick. Thumbs up to the quick and efficient way of getting my food. Asian chopped salad was a bit salty. I think because of the peanut sauce they use and they cup of soup was in a small side for the price I paid for it and it was ok. I’ve tasted better even from Von’s. This place was located in the back of the market and they close at 9pm even on a Sunday. Would like to try other things they have next time, but it’s not something I would go out of my way just to try anytime soon.

Fast casual fresh pasta made to order. At a starting price of $ 7, great option for lunch or casual dinner. Choose from several handmade fresh pasta and sauces. There are add ons for $ 1. I would highly recommend this place because there’s not many places you go for fast fresh Italian food for $ 7.

Look, if you had, one shot, or one opportunity To eat everything you ever wanted. In one moment Would you capture it, or just let it slip? They use tap to cook their pasta: you can’t boil away heavy metal oxides, arsenic, fluoride, the 2000+ hormones found in municipal water, a vast array of pharmaceuticals including antibiotics, anti-convulsants, mood stabilizers and sex hormones – and in poorer areas, we even lead. Not trying to scare you; be informed. Maybe try their salad…

Food is pretty good here. There are a bunch of different selections for pasta and they cook everything fresh in front of your eyes. I had a pasta dish for around $ 7. Decent price compared to the other food places in the plaza. Service was also really good. Will be back for more pasta!

Pros: Generous portions for the price Cons: Paying is a little weird Went here today with the wife for lunch. It’s located in the back of the Union Market. They serve salads and pastas. I ended up getting pasta. Cool thing is they cook the pasta fresh. Pastas start around $ 7 and then you pay more based on which proteins you want. I ended up getting spaghetti pasta in a Bolognese sauce with shrimp. My wife ended up getting a chicken caesar salad. So what’s weird is when you order you have to wait until all the food is done before you can pay. It’s a little weird because my wife’s salad was already done and we were just waiting around for a couple minutes. Definitely not a deal breaker, but it doesn’t seem that ordering and paying is efficient as it could be. Anyway, the pasta was good, but nothing to write home about. The portions are generous for the price, but I don’t think I’d crave it if I was wanting pasta.

Great home made pasta! Made to order with a smile. These guys know how to make a family smile :) The basics(e.g. spaghetti bolognese) was done well — pasta wasn’t over cooked, sauce was well balanced, and portions were generous.

Great service! The best thing about this place is the service. The pasta was tasty and fresh. The portions were kinda small but it was worth the 7 dollars. The soup was also delicious and it is definitely something I would recommend. The fettuccine was creamy and the noodles had their own taste of freshies. I will definitely be back to try the salad!

I visited market 2 plate and it was a big disappointment. I order the gluten free pasta since I suffer from celiac too bad the use the same blanching water for both pastas. If they offer the gluten free pasta they should be aware of cross contamination. The pasta was flavor less it could be much better, my husband order the fettuccine rosé same it lacked flavor. The Caesar dressing had way too much vinegar and the lettuce was a bit bitter.

Came here for breakfast this morning! Their omelettes are a great deal. $ 6.95 for a three egg omelette that comes with a side of focaccia, a pretty decent sized side salad, a little side of tuna salad, a delicious herb cream cheese spread for the bread and some sauces for the salad. The omelette was great and definitely filling. I couldn’t try the focaccia because I’m trying the whole Paleo diet right now lol but my husband said it was amazing. They also have a thing going on with Portola where if you go to either and show your receipt to the other, you’ll receive 10% off. I suggest stopping at Portola first for your coffee fix then head over to Market 2 Plate and show your receipt :) I’ll def come back again, especially when I’m not dieting and able to try the pasta!

Market2Plate is the first healthy eatery at Tustin’s Union Market. It’s menu is limited because they only offer salads, pasta, and soup. When there are only a few items on a menu, I take that as a good thing because it means that those few items were selected for a reason. I ordered the Market Fresh Salad and splurged to add chicken for an extra $ 2. It came in a decent sized bowl that I think is a good portion for one person. The salad was a mixture of bean sprouts, chickpeas, lettuce, cucumbers, and a fruity vinaigrette. I’m really picky with dressing and was impressed with how they managed to have a nice ratio of salad to dressing. The salad wasn’t dry and it wasn’t drenched in dressing. I’ll have to come back and try the Caesar salad since dressing is not usually done well on that type of salad. The biggest takeaway from this restaurant was the service. I arrived during the lunch rush and the staff seemed to be overwhelmed. They prepare the salad and pasta behind a glass right after you place your order. Since this place is new, it’s understandable that the staff is still inexperienced. It wasn’t terrible service, but the staff was not on their A game. After things calmed down, the staff and, I believe, the manager walked around and talked to diners. They were genuinely trying and I give them credit for that. This place has potential to be one of my go-to lunch spots.

Thought we could squeeze in a quick meal before our movie, but this trip ended up being a major fail on wasted calories. Despite taking the extra effort to write down our orders on the sides of our containers AND reciting the orders back to us, they managed to get not only the proteins incorrect, but the sauces and pasta types mixed up as well. What we ordered: 1. pappardelle pasta with rosé and shrimp, and 2. gnocchi with pesto and chicken What we got? Pappardelle pasta with pesto and salmon, which at first my boyfriend opted to eat because he loves pesto sauce(which I don’t really care for), but upon having a bite he discovered out the protein tossed in was not chicken, but salmon. Minus 1 star. Did I mention he’s allergic to fish? Minus star number 2. The other order turned out to be gnocchi with rosé sauce tossed with chicken, which is my least favorite protein(I meal prep with chicken all the time, so if given a choice I would rather not eat chicken). Close… but not quite. Minus a third star. We didn’t have time to have the orders remade, so my starving bf salvaged what he could out of the gnocchi and chicken, but we had to dump the pesto salmon pasta all together. I’ll give one 1 star for the delish mint lemonade and 1 more star for the yummy mushroom soup, but we still left disappointed and hangry.

My second time here, I love the style of the place very chic! I ordered the Asian salad with chicken, I got the exact amount of dressing I needed, the vegetables were fresh and the chicken too. My husband took the pesto pasta, he loved it!!! The owner came to welcome us and ask if all is good… That was very nice. My first experience was the same and I would definitely come back.

SERVICE. Welcoming and reaches out to the guests who are standing outside looking at the menu. Open to offering suggestions. FOOD. I had an order of the fettuccini pasta with the Rose and a touch of pesto. Not a good call recovering from the stomach flu, but that’s the suggestion I was given when I told the chef I was sick. My pasta was a bit dry. Chicken didn’t taste too fresh. The sauce itself was nice and creamy(not that I should have had creamy food at the time) though I would have liked more of it in my bowl. The portion was fairly small and not shareable. Nothing that wowed me too much, but I wasn’t completely disappointed. PRICE. $ 6.95 for pasta + $ 2 chicken OVERALL. I’d give the food a 3.5÷5. Service was great though. Thanks for your help on what to order! I’ll definitely come back for a salad and use the 20% off coupon I was given at the register.

4.5 stars 1. The pasta side is a bit slower in terms of food preparation because they have to individually cook each pasta dish 2. However the salad side is great! Great options but you do have to pay extra for added protein :( 3. Price isn’t too bad considering the big portion you get for the salad order 4. They use a new card system which has a place for the chip and also the traditional sliding method. Now onto the food review + got the Asian flair salad and it was DELICIOUS! The sauce was everything. I appreciate how fresh the salad tasted. I would come back for the salad. ALSO shout out the sweetest salad maker– APRIL! +The salad also comes with a side bread. + also when you add protein they cook the protein per order + BF got the papperdelle pasta with rose sauce. He says the portion was small and the sauce was a bland. However the concept is really cool. I love the salad bar and would def come back to try the other cool options.

Wow this place really blew our minds! I love the idea of FRESH pasta prepared right in front of you with FRESH ingredients. Are you seeing a theme here? They have 7 pasta choices and I believe 4 sauce options. You can also add veggies and protein. Not a pasta fan? How about savory salads? 5 salad options with the options to add extra protein. Don’t forget to see what the soup of the day is! The pasta that we got was gnocchi with pesto and rotelli with meat sauce(I obviously didn’t partake but I was told it was amazing!). The owner over heard my friend say that she wished she tried the salad, and he brought her over a bowl! Free of charge! So sweet. And he gave us 20% off coupon for next time. We are so impressed and we will defiantly be back!
