Ezell’s Southern Food Express

I just had Ezells for the first time since 2015 and I forgot how amazing and addictive this place is! Always go here with the intention of saving my food, but the Buffalo shrimp I always get is too good! Good service, very fast paced and complimentary. Don’t miss out on southern food done right at this great location!

I’ve now been here twice with my boyfriend. Each time, we were greeted with very polite customer service and lots of wonderful southern food. I have yet to try anything that wasn’t delicious, and their fried okra is something to write home about. While the atmosphere leaves a little to be desired, the speed, quality of food, and friendly service make this a great spot for hungry college kids looking for a home-​style meal without spending too much.

My husband and I came for lunch! After about 5 minutes of waiting, an associate brought us a bowl of complimentary hush puppies with a spicy cheese sauce. It was delicious! A yummy spin on a classic southern treat. Still, we ordered at exactly 11:48 and at 12:15 I had to flag down a waitress to see how much longer on our food. It seems our order was skipped in the kitchen. We had to request it to be put to go as we both had to go to work. The young lady who I approached was very apologetic and even took 50% off our ticket.
I ordered the fried tilapia with hash brown casserole and turnip greens. My husband ordered hot wings and fries. The hash brown casserole and hush puppies was excellent! The greens were full of flavor and seemed fresh. The tilapia was also good. My husband enjoyed his wings and said the sauce was similar to a hot teriyaki.
All and all, the food is great and the prices are fair. They just have a few of the new-​restaurant jitters.
