This restaurant, from concept to execution is extraordinary. Wonderful for vegetarians and carnivores alike, the owner and chef are very happy to adjust their food so people on special diets(gluten free, low carb, etc) can enjoy. And the food! Oh my goodness, the food is divine. While I’m thrilled with the location since I moved from Boston, if they had a restaurant in the city they would be a smash hit! Local, fresh, interesting plates that make you want to swoon. Yes, it often takes a while to get your food, so be prepared, but that’s because the chef makes every dish to order. Head there ASAP, it would be a crime if we ever lost this gem.

I’ve eaten here for brunches, dinners and last night for their special event Valentine dinner menu. All three meals exceeded my expectations. The food is almost magically produced by a line of only a sous-chef and head chef. The front of the house is typically run in an equally intimate two person team. However, the quality and authenticity of the experience of this four person team is strikingly memorable. This is the old-timey quality standard of fine dining. The service is personal, intimate and timely. The food is hearty, perfectly seasoned, and innovative but also displays the talent and deft hand of a classically trained chef. The beers are local and delicious. I’ve never been served a glass of wine I didn’t feel was a value be it the house white, or the most expensive bottle. Equally powerful as the food and the experience is the knowledge that when you come here you are contributing to a business that represents the ethics of the quintessential small town fine dining restaurant. Despite the thin margins of the industry, the owners always chip in to host the community events vital to the small mill-town of which they call home. Despite the difficulty of remaining open in the slower winters, some of my favorite meals have been in the coldest winter nights here in Turners Falls. If you engage this restaurant as it is meant to be done; with a smile, no pretensions, with a warm heart, what you get in return will be more than you could ever expect. If your needs are blazing fast service, a blooming onion, or a pitcher of bud light, you’ll likely leave disappointed. If you don’t enjoy food seasoned aggressively(and properly) you might be surprised by the flavors you’ll enjoy here. If you miss the sense of community, and the personalized touch of incredible food, and the warm smile of a truly kind and engaging owner, stroll into Great Falls Harvest. I’ve never left feeling anything but thankful that I chose to come here.

The Harvest is owned by a great couple who are focused on bringing quality food that is artfully crafted to the Pioneer Valley. There is a warmth in the atmosphere that can’t be touched and it makes for a wonderful evening. Of course the food is the star of the restaurant and is wonderful. The flatbreads are a great option for a quick bite, but the pasta is always great(there are daily offerings) and is sourced from The Vermont Fresh Pasta Co. Aside from the delicious flavors, the focus on sourcing ingredients from local farms is a great part of this restaurant! You can’t visit Turners without stoping at the Harvest.

My friend and I originally planed to go to the Voo, but when we got there we realized it was too loud for us. We started walking towards Black Burger when we stumbled across Great Falls Harvest. We were curious and so we went in. When we arrived we were happy to find a relaxed and casual atmosphere. Great ambiance! The owner took cake of us that night, and she will probably take care of you too if u go because this is a ma’ and pa’ place, folks. The menu was exquisite, but we managed to pick only 3 things: a board, the salmon with oriental flavors and the chicken with indian flavors. It. Was. Amazing. You don’t understand… this restaurant deserves out of this world reviews!!! The food is local(within a 10 mile radius, the owner said), the portions are very generous and the service is fantastic. This place is about to become my favorite hang out spot. See you there!

Just had two apps and a nice bottle of Garnacha. Fabulous food, large but not overwhelming portions of tasty, inventive, fresh local food. Fair prices and attentive service. Beautiful night to sit outside. We will be back.

I was prepared to love this place. Nice folks. Cool vibe. The menu was creative and exciting. But the dining experience was off. We ordered our drinks and dinners. The drinks came. And we waited. And waited and waited for our meals. Nearly an hour and the place wasn’t busy. No explanation from server. No bread, no olives, not even a carrot stick in the meantime. I ordered the quail entrée. Quail is a tiny bird. Just a few bites and it’s gone. Everywhere I have ever gone where its served, it’s a brace of quail. Meaning two quail. If it’s an appetizer, one quail. But here the entrée was one little quail. Unacceptable and chintzy. Charge a few bucks more, but make it a brace of quail. The little quail was tasty but kind of overcooked. The potato beet kale hash that accompanied it was nicely conceived but bland. Could have used some seasoning. So there you have it. The place can easily be 4 – 5 stars if they just pay attention: 1. Give some bread or something to munch on 2. Don’t take so damn long to get the food out of the kitchen. 3. Understand that a quail entrée is a brace of quail. I’m heading back there soon to give it another shot.

Where to start. We had the harvest board which was excellent. Good presentation a nice selection on the harvest board very tasty After that my entrée blackened farm raised salmon was disappointing. The presentation was lets say bazaar. It look like a piece of black tire retread strip that fell off a truck rumbling down the road on a giant pile of rice. Everything tasted the same — hot spicy. I could not distinguish any other flavors. Mind you I enjoy hot spicy and the associated endorphin rush. But this was one giant mono flavor scape. Appetizers might be the only winners here

I had an absolutely FANTASTIC meal here at great harvest. I had a wonderful steak that had an amazing side of greens and mushrooms infused with bacon. I could not get enough of it! Highly recommended!

We live in NYC and just stumbled upon this restaurant while on our road trip. We are driving away as I am typing this and my mouth is still watering. Food was amazing. I ordered the shrimp risotto w/pumpkin seed crusted salmon. My mouth wanted so much more than my stomach could handle(portions are generous). My husband ordered the blackened tofu and cleaned his plate! I highly recommend!

Amazing fresh food. Harvest board w delicious cheese from France and local sourced meat was really great. Could eat that w some wine or beers and could be happy. Fig salad really delicious and combo of sweet and savory. Pork tenderloin Benedict w root veg, over the top delicious. Pork cooked perfectly and juicy. Lobster cannoli w fiddle heads was unique and pleasing.

A culinary delight for this area. With a sister that’s a chef and an eclectic cook myself, I’m picky about where I eat. Harvest came highly recommended by friends. The service was great. Decent wine choices and a very diverse menu. No room for dessert this time. Will definitely return. Check it out if your in the area.

I was not sure what to expect here, but we finally tried GFH last night and were extremely pleasantly surprised. I had a whitefish with local cheese, sundried tomatoes, and greens with jasmine rice. It was creative and unique but it also really worked. It tasted very fresh and had many subtle flavors. I really enjoyed it. The goat cheese cheesecake with pistachio crust was the best cheesecake I can remember eating, ever. Their creative use of locally sourced ingredients, including many stellar local cheeses, was above and beyond the usual. I didn’t have any vegetarian, vegan or GF dishes specifically, but they had *many* to choose from. Our meal last night was on par with other local fancier fare like The Night Kitchen(*sniff*) and The Blue Heron. I have absolutely no idea what that reviewer’s «rude waitress» problem was. The staff was warm, kind, and welcoming, and we had a great time. Note: they don’t have a full bar as of this time. But that’s no problem, because they are right next door to one of the best bars in Franklin County, The Rendezvous. And they are a couple blocks from the epically awesome store, LOOT. If you’re going on a date here, I highly recommend LOOT, followed by a drink at the Vous, and then dinner at Harvest. If you want more, you could then go back to the Vous for a show or dancing after dinner. Super fun and relaxing!

I came with a party of three other people, our first time there. The first hostess that greeted us was wonderful, she recommended drinks to us based on our tastes that we described to her and answered our questions. The second waitress came over and we had a lot of questions about the ingredients in some of the dishes, and I didn’t understand the difference between two of the flatbread pizza dishes that were available. Since I really dislike spicy flavors, I asked her, just to make sure, which dish contained chipotle. She sarcastically told me I should have been listening instead of yapping with my boyfriend.(I had only whispered to him a few things about the ingredients, listening intently to her the whole time.) I had asked her a lot of questions and had been nothing but polite. Over the course of our time there, she continued to be extremely condescending. She made all of us feel uncomfortable. My boyfriend’s dish arrived incorrectly, after waiting at least an hour for our food. We did not complain about anything until the very nice hostess came over. We thanked her for being so awesome, but we had to say something about the other lady’s terrible attitude and customer service. She sympathized with us and was wonderful. The mean waitress came back over and my friend, very politely, told her that this was not an insult, but just some feedback, we were very uncomfortable with the way she treated us. This woman proceeded to scold ME, who did not even complain about anything, for being disrespectful and ASKINGTOOMANYQUESTIONS. I calmly told her this was our first time here and I asked questions because I didn’t know about some of the ingredients. She interrupted me and got angry at me for no reason, told me harshly that she does not appreciate being disrespected and walked away from me with the worst attitude I have ever seen on someone in customer service. I was appalled that someone could be this rude to me when our group was being nice and polite to her… we had not raised our voices or anything. So we will definitely not be back thanks to this woman. I could even forgive the slow-ish service… the food was fine, I’m not picky about wait times, but this woman scoffed«Just to let you know, if you ever come back, this is not just a quick meal» when she saw us getting ready to leave after paying our bill. We were not leaving because it took too long. We were leaving because of the awful service. We didn’t even finish our drinks, and we took our food to go. Never again, and I will post this everywhere I can to warn people about this woman.

Oh my, that was good! The best dinner I’ve had in quite awhile. I really savored it. Nice atmosphere, nice colors, nice decorative garlic at the tables; it all felt cozy and pleasing(and all so new it feels it ought to have that new car smell — which it didn’t). It is said that quality ingredients are what make excellent meals. I missed a lot of the details, but this place appears to have great sources, mostly local and mostly direct from the farm. The owning couple was cooking and serving and she was really nice.
