Very nice place and food, on Saturdays there is a girl doing belly dance and a very beautiful show, they even invite you to dance. Food is delicious, and the servers are very helpful. I will come back to this place every time I can.

My friend Debbie and I go here often, after yoga at Be Love. Its just down the street – very nice peoole own it and the food is very good. We were both recently on #whole30 and would order the beef or chicken fatoosh salad(sans pita) it is a delicious, filling lunch and service is very quick. We usually also order the za’atar with veggies instead of pita — its roasted oregano(& some other spices) w/olive oil. Great mediterranean food.

Wow! This food is so good that my wife and I were making plans for our next visit before we even finished our dinner here. We showed up at 5:00 on a Friday and had the place all to ourselves. They said business usually picks up later in the evening, and I hope that’s true, because I would love to see this restaurant thriving. My beef shawarma was awesome: rich and complex flavors in the meat, surrounded by a colorful medley of side-dishes(hummus, tabouli, salad pickles, beets). There’s no wrong way to combine the ingredients from your plate on your fork; it all tastes delicious. As much as I loved my meal, I still coveted my wife’s sea bass: amazing flavor and texture. She liked her veggie cabbage roll appetizer, but I preferred the hummus and pita bread. The hummus was as good as(probably better than) any I’ve ever had, although the pita did not taste super fresh to us. We were disappointed that our appetites were gone before dessert, because I’ve heard they have tremendous baklava. Next time. The bee’s knees cocktail is very nicely balanced between the citrus, gin, and honey flavors. The pour of gin was generous, but I felt like the cocktail was smaller than usual, or maybe I just enjoyed it so much that it was all gone before I knew it.

Amazing food! The highlights for me were the beef Schwarma and falafel. Seriously so good. We started out with two drinks from their cocktail menu and they were wonderful. I had the mojito and it was very fresh. We got the«vegan delight» which was an appetizer sampler of their most popular things. It came with hummus, falafel, and lots of others. The falafel is the best in town by far! I almost ordered a falafel wrap for my entrée because it was so good! I ordered beef schwarma for my entrée and it was simply delightful. The meat just melts in your mouth and it was seasoned to perfection. I highly recommend coming here. Seriously the best Mediterranean food in town.

We are visiting Tulsa from Texas and are here for a race. We usually like something light for lunch the day before a race-and this hit the spot! We started with Baba Ganouj and had the chicken shawarma to share. It was so much food and so delicious! The gentleman who served us was so awesome and even gave us free baklava! When in Tulsa-visit here!

Zaatar was great! And I’m always down for pickled turnips. The falafel patties are ok they need more flavor and spice. Husband said the baba ganouj was right one. He ate all of it, I didn’t even get to taste. The meat cabbage rolls had just enough spice and flavor to be divine. We came for lunch and had great service. Plus they have Pepsi products! We will definitely be back again!

The food here is amazing! Even just ordering the vegan delight, I walked away satisfied with what I got and how much there was. The wait time was a little long but nowhere near long enough for me to consider a 4 star review. The falafel was basically prefect and the baba ganouj is spectacular, so there will be zero complaints from me. The drink menu is more than adequate as well which makes this an excellent choice for dinner. Come by anytime. I just might be here.

My first time here, a few months ago, I shared the appetizer sampler and the featured Papa Ganouj dish with eggplant –it was fabulous and the service was outstanding! Five stars! Tonight, I had the recommended salmon dish and everything on the plate was tasty, but the salmon was raw and had to be put back on the grill. When it came back out to the table, it was still undercooked and was served on a saucer with no toppings or added seasoning, so it ended up tasting a bit fishy. :(Our server didn’t seem concerned(another server had recommended the dish), but she was a new server and probably didn’t know what to do. She asked if we would like desert and then brought our check to the table. We did enjoy the quaint atmosphere and would try it again another time.

Rude waitress who was a know it all and argumentative. Food was worse than it used to be. Will not be back. Unfortunately I gave this place a second chance and they failed me and my friends miserably.

Oh my gosh this place is incredible. Have been there twice so far, can’t wait to bring my husband. The first time I tried it I got a chicken shawarma wrap to go. It also came with hummus. I quickly ate the whole thing– it was so good! Went yesterday with a friend for lunch. Brought my yoga mat with me(just had gone to yoga at Be Love a few doors down) so we got 25% off our whole ticket. Anyway, they started out with complimentary pita bread and a good olive oil with za’atara(roasted thyme). Then we both ordered the same entrée– chicken shawarma with hashwa(seasoned ground beef and rice), tabouli and hummus. Everything was amazing. I’m pretty picky about tabouli– my husband’s mother’s family is Lebanese so we know Mediterranean food– and this was really good. Always a good sign when tabouli is more green than brown(means more parsley than wheat). The chicken shawarma was well seasoned. I think it was the owner– an older gentleman– who came out to talk to us to make sure we liked the food and also asked if we needed anything else. He was so nice. We were too stuffed for dessert. I think they also have a full bar-looks really nice. Will have to come by for dinner!

I try chicken swarma all over America. By far this is the best one I have ever had. I was so impressed that I asked to try the falafels, baba ganouj, hummus, and cabbage rolls. And now all I can say is wow! I’m speechless.

I’m really into you, Papa Ganouj. I had heard good things about this place a while back and just got around to trying it last night. I didn’t regret it. first off, this place is a double whammy: fun interior AND good food. my fiancé and I shared the vegetable sampler. lots of good & refreshing tastes. at 12 bucks this was a steal– definitely enough for a light dinner/tapas for 2. however, we decided to keep going. on to the chicken schwarma. boy, was it good. the chicken was seasoned very well and it was served with hummus and wild rice with almonds. personally, I’d get both the vegetable sampler and the chicken schwarma again. and again. the service was good and the aesthetics were exceptionally pleasing. the Pearl District– though currently limited to about 4 businesses– is fun. I’m hoping it will continue its gentrification with more fun places such as Papa Ganouj.

Came here with my wife because she had been here once before and said it was good. Today was a bad bad bad idea. I arrived at 11:15. No one else in the place. I get seated and order a tea. It’s pretty open inside with a small bar near the entrance and very clean. My wife arrives and She gets her drink order and I put in an order of the cabbage rolls. One more patron arrives and is seated. We place our lunch order around 11:20. The cabbage rolls come out about 15 mins later and are pretty tasty. Off to a good start I thought. A few people show up to meet the previously only other person in the place. They take a seat outside because they have small children and it was already as loud as can be inside. The place REALLY needed some sort of acoustic treatment. There were 5 adults and 3 kids and we were having to yell to have a conversation. After about 30 mins of waiting I look at my watch and see that I have been here for just under an hour. Hmmm. Service is running slow. The hostess is getting drinks as needed and delivering appetizers. 2 other groups arrive, a party of 2 and a party of 6. I am starting to wonder… will these people get their food? We have been here for an hour now, and havn’t eaten. My wife gets the hostess attention and she comes over and apologizes before we say anything, then proceeds to tell us our meals are free because the chef or one of the cooks just walked off the job. I asked her if the food was even cooking or about ready because we both had places we needed to be. She assured us that it was coming out soon. After another 10 mins the food arrives. Looks nice, smells nice, but just wasn’t right. My wife cut her burger in half and had one heck of a time doing so. The patty was seasoned and cooked well done it looked, but the thing was nearly solid like a rock. I tried a bite of hers and the flavor was good. I had a wrap that had overcooked steak in it. Was very tough, but the flavor of the wrap was good. Our dishes both came with seasoned garlic fries that were nice. My wife was texting a friend letting her know what was going on and how bad she felt bringing me here, because they both had raved about it. I really just hope it was an off day. The waitress/hostess was friendly and nice and comped the food. We wound up spending about 1 hour and 45 mins on what was going to be a quick lunch. I will have to try this place again but will be after I read a few more positive reviews posted to let me know that it still isn’t out of control.

Had the Falafel and side salad for lunch and it was great. I work across the street a lot and visit here once or twice a month. They have a new chef who is doing a fantastic job so far.

Wasn’t too bad. First time in, the food looked great, and tasted good too. They got a little busy at one point but enjoyed the experience and the food.

The food was excellent and the service was great. I had the chicken Shawarma and my girlfriend had the Kabob with Shrimp and Steak. The portions were good and the price was definitely reasonable for what you get. The chicken and shrimp we’re delicious. The steak was well executed, tender and full of flavor. The Hashwa rice was incredible. I accidentally stumbled upon this place and I’m so glad I tried it out. I will be coming back. Try their Tiramisu. You won’t regret it!

To sum this place up, as stated by my husband: The food reminds me of something I’ve ate before… at a wedding. This tasted like catered wedding food. Which is such a let down. After reading the Unilocal reviews and then checking out the menu online, I made a reservation for my husband and I to have a lovely Valentine’s Day dinner date(my parents were so gracious to drive 6.5 hours to babysit, not kidding). When we got Papa Ganouj and were seated, we were presented with a special Valentine’s Day menu. After looking it over and not being very impressed with the dishes, I asked to see the every day menu instead. Folks, this menu is COMPLETELYDIFFERENT than what they posted online. There is no seared pork belly. No Mousaka. Nothing even close. There are, however, half a dozen pasta dishes and an assortment of chicken entrees. So, it was six one way half a dozen the other in terms of which menu to order off of. We went with the Valentine’s Day menu because it had wine. First course: mezze of baba ganouj, hummus, and tabouli with pita chips. Hummus was great and this is coming from a hummus snob. The tabouli was extremely dry and needed way more olive oil and lemon. Not great at all. Second course: ravioli pasta in brown butter sauce and a pear filling. I couldn’t eat this because of my body’s aversion to dairy but my husband ate it all. He said the homemade pasta was good but it lacked filling and salt. Third course: I had the salmon with tahini sauce while my husband had the masala pork. Totally catered wedding food taste. I picked at my salmon because it lacked any flavor and the supposed tahini sauce was a small drizzle. My husband ate his pork because he’s a man and that’s what men do. Fourth course: duo of tiramisu and panna cotta. Meh. The tiramisu lacked the espresso punch and needed a more substantial layer of ladyfingers. The panna cotta needed more vanilla or more something else in general. For a place that claims to be a fusion of Spanish, Moroccan, Tunisian, Lebanese, etc. flavors and dishes, I never tasted anything akin to these amazing culinary places. Dinner was a complete let down, and there is no way you could get me to come back here when I know better food can be found elsewhere, probably at the next wedding I attend. Note: my husband is Arab so when he says the tabouli is bad, that should mean something.

Having grow up in the Middle East and spent a significant portion of my life in the Mediterranean I feel confident in saying the food here at PG is as authentic as it gets. Since opening my girlfriend and I have eaten here several times and we’re looking forward to the next opportunity to come back for more. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service is stellar and their food is fresh, savory and leaves you feeling fully satisfied. If you’re in the mood for a cocktail they have a host of custom cocktails that are sure to quench your thirst and if you’re more of a wine lover may I suggest the Riff Pinot Grigio. It is a crisp cool white that should pair well with anything on the menu. If you have a bit of a sweet tooth, try one of their custom deserts. If you see something you like, get it now. They are always updating and changing their desert presentations so you don’t want to miss out. I hope you enjoy PG as much as I do and if you stop by look around because you’re highly likely to see me sipping on something refreshing and stuffing my face with their delusions food.

So downtown’s got a Mediterranean place, and it’s long overdue. Papa Ganouj specializes in Mezze– small plates that go well with drinks, along with the entrée menu, wine list, and a full bar. I’ve tried the majority of the Mezze at this point. The absolute musts would be the Artichokes/Mushrooms, the off-menu(just ask) Marinated Mozzarella balls, the Baba Ganouj(served with Pita wedges for dipping), Hummus, which is good, but I’d suggest not screwing around, and get the Baba Ganouj instead. The Cured Tuna was a great way to keep your palate in a state of delicious imbalance, though the king of the«palate reset» would have to be the Dates. The Tabbouleh had the perfect tangy ingredient balance; it’s always nice to have another option in an underserved town. The Mezze are sold as Choose 2($ 6), Choose 4($ 11), and Chef’s choice 6($ 14). So there are price breaks for the adventurous, as there should be with life in general. It’s time to start living it. The Zatar Filet was cooked exactly as requested, medium rare. It was delicious– served medallion style, plated with their squid ink pasta(!), and vegetables. After I finish trying everything else on their menu, this very well may be my go-to entrée. I also had the surprise/fortune of trying the«Baklava». Not to be confused with the dessert option– this Baklava anomaly is totally savory. It’s filled with chicken and stuffing, but wrapped in the familiar flaky crust. Totally delicious, and will most likely be a lunchtime favorite. I’ve never run into anything quite like it, but I highly recommend you give it a try. Though the majority of the entrees are meat based, this place is extremely vegetarian friendly. That should make a lot of downtown dwellers smile. Papa Ganouj is open Tuesday-Saturday, 11am-11pm, with Mezze happy hour from 4:30 — 6:00, during the week, featuring $ 1 Mezze plates. For real. Sign me up. See you there.
