La Flama

This is my favorite place for street tacos right now. The meat is flavorful and the sauce they serve with the tacos is just how I like it, hot. Authentic goodness. They serve tacos as a meal or al a carte, $ 1.50 each. I’ve only had the pastor and chicken, but I’m sure anything you get will be great. I just found out that they cater. The owner was making pork with chilies and vegetables, it looked amazing. They also have soup on the weekends which also looks and smells amazing. Must try.

I am always excited to find a new hole-​in-​the-​wall Mexican food place and having driven by this one enough times I knew I needed to try it so I stopped in for lunch today. I ordered the Costillas de Puerco not really knowing what I would get other than a pork dish and got a big plate of pork ribs simmered in tomatillo sauce with refried rice and beans. I was not disappointed as the pork was simmered to fall off the bone tenderness and the tomatillo sauce was fresh made with just a hint of heat. Salsa was home made and solid as well and the service was prompt and courteous. This isn’t going to take the place of Cancun for me but it will be a nice change of pace for when I’m in the area and craving some Mexican food. I recommend you give it a try!

Simply excellent. Flavors are distinct and pronounced without being overbearing. Down home feel. Friendly service. Authentic Mexican. Very few gringos. Best Mexican I’ve had in Tulsa, hands down.
