I am a Mexican food addict, so when a co-worker mentioned she wanted to stop here while in town for work, she didn’t have to twist my arm! She mentioned the place was slightly sketchy, so I was worried at first, but as soon as we walked in the service was incredibly friendly. You order at the counter and get a number to sit down with. The menu has no photos, so you have to take a minute or two to read everything, but I knew right away I wanted the #102 enchiladas(cheese) with rice and beans. I really loved my meal. This was not your average melted cheese in a tortilla. I loved the dark red sauce on the enchiladas and I also loved the rice. I was not totally won over with the beans, so I left most of those on the plate. My co-worker also ordered a side of the queso for us to split and this was seriously my favorite of the trip. I don’t know what they do to that BRIGHT yellow cheese, but lordy, it is unlike any queso I have had before. It was so good. The chips were decent and the salsa was actually spicy! We did have a snafu with the orders where they thought my co-worked ordered 2 chicken chimichangas, but when the wrong order came out, they were very gracious and were able to quickly get her the right order and the correct change. My other co-worker ordered the #54 which was a burrito and it came with a side of guac. It looked AMAZING. I’d order this next time if I can pull myself away from the enchiladas. This is definitely the most authentic feeling Mexican food I have had in a long time. and hot damn, it is going to take me a while to get that queso off of my mind!

Such a great place to buy authentic Mexican groceries. Plus, you can buy single, cold Jarritos for less than a dollar & they’ll even pop the top for you if you’re on the go!

They changed the salsa, bleah. Soft tacos still the best. Grocery store the best in Tulsa.

Las Americas is the most authentic Mexican food that I have found in Tulsa. The prices are more than reasonable and the atmosphere, service, and food are all excellent. I usually go in there for lunch during the week, because I work close by. If you get there around 11:15 you can beat the line, but even if there is a long line, don’t worry, it goes quickly. You order at the counter and they bring your food out to you. They have amazing chips and salsa, the only downside being it isn’t always consistent(I’d say about 1 out of 4 times the salsa tastes different). You can get full on the chips and salsa alone. I recommend ordering the street tacos. By default they come on corn tortillas with onions, and cilantro. I always ask for them on flour tortillas. My lunch usually ends up being right around $ 5, and I end up stuffed. If you feel like treating yourself, in the market(that is adjoined), they have a little bakery cabinet by the checkout with yummy baked goods that are $ 0.50 apiece, or you can order an horchata(milky, almond drink) with your meal. The employees here are very friendly and it’s a great local establishment. If the 3rd street location is too far away from you I believe they also have a newer location over on 41st, but I haven’t eaten there so I don’t know how it compares. HOURS Open during lunch hours Monday — Saturday, and open for dinner on Friday and Saturday.

This was one of the best little hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurants I’ve been to in Tulsa. It reminds of some of the great little places I enjoyed while I lived in Houston, and thats saying a lot. The fact that the place is always packed should be a testament to the quality of the food. I’d highly recommend Las Americas to friends of mine. Get there early or late if you’re coming for lunch; it gets packed.

Great little Hispanic Market and restaurant which has the best salsa in the Tulsa metro area! They serve the typical TexMex dishes along with authentic specialty items that are not listed on the menu. Look for the green chili pork special, it’s very good! Gets crowded at lunch so be there by 11:15am or wait until after 12:15pm.

I Wouldnt recommend this place. I ate here with coworkers and the food was very bland and insightful. I was not impressed.
