A Tulsa staple! Got the chopped beef — fantastic! The sweet BBQ sauce has some kind of special ingredient — its sweet and lovely! And the potato salad was creamy with a great tang!

It was OK… you must like sweet sauce and sides. Ribs were a little tuff and still had the membrane. Brisket was good. Sides were OK. Sorry, very nice people serving you.

This place is more than AMAZING! Our first time visiting Tulsa and we stumbled upon this gem! The place is very nostalgic, a beautiful old piano stood against a wall and I assume most of the décor has not changed in ages. Nice jazz was playing in the background and when we explained to our very sweet server this was our first time having BBQ in Tulsa, she was more than happy to go over the menu and make recommendations. We had a large meat platter for 2, which included to die for ribs, chopped beef, a nice smoky sausage and of course their famous bologna. We also had homemade potato salad and baked beans. The meat was spectacular, and we had 3 delicious sauces to chose from at our table; sweet, original or spicy, all were soooooo good! I loved the potato salad, it was indeed homemade and i wanted to lick the bowl. My boyfriend loved the baked beans, said he’d never had any so good! Oh, and they have a pickle bar :) If you are in Tulsa, you most try Elmer’s, I promise it will be an incredible experience for your taste buds. Hands down the best BBQ I’ve ever had in my 40 something years on this earth. I only wish they delivered to Iowa.

Not as good as before, but still OK. The baloney and links were pretty good. I used to go out of my way for the green beans, but the recipe must have changed because now they are nothing special. Service is good and the BADwhich is the thing to order because of the novelty.

Ordered delivery through grub hub to my hotel. The food was delicious but they were apparently out of smoked turkey. Grub hub called and I replaced it with something else but apparently it was too late. My 8 bucks was refunded and my friend didn’t get a sandwich. The two meat platter(beef and smoked sausage) was good although I paid to add pulled pork and I didn’t get any. The sauce was great too. I’ll chalk any negativity up to a snafu with grub hub.

i ordered the«bad-wich.» which 4 meats: ribs, bologna, sausage or hot links & chopped beef, with your choice of texas toast or buns, along with 2 sides. thing is, they forgot my texas toast but I wasn’t trippin’ b/c it seemed better w/o it. the ribs had a nice burnt crust, the sausage, bologna & beef had a nice, smokey taste. for my sauce, I got the mixed bbq sauce, which is a mix of hot & sweet, you can’t go wrong w/that. my 2 sides: green beans(which bits of meat in it) & baked beans. both were good. the service was on point, the food didn’t take long for me to get. I enjoyed it all around.

Being from Texas I am kind of picky on BBQ. This place wasn’t bad at all, just a bit bland compared to what I’m used to. It’s nice that they give you options of sauces but I prefer it to already be soaked into the sauce. The ribs were on the dry side, and the brisket was okay. The bologna was interesting as well. The pork and spicy sausage were the best I’d say. And the spin on potato salad using mashed potatoes was interesting(the dill taste was a bit strong for my preference). I loved the coleslaw, and I usually don’t. Good place, just not the best BBQ I have ever had.

One of the best BBQ restaurants in Tulsa! Love getting the hot link sandwich with potato salad. It’s always more than enough food for a very reasonable price. The atmosphere is great and the waiters are always friendly.

Probably the best BBQ joint in Tulsa. The first place I ever had BBQ/smoked bologna and the only place that I feel really does it right. Nothing is over seasoned, allowing the smoke and natural meat flavors to come through. Sauce is always on the side, stick with the mixed or hot, sweet is just too sweet. First time visitors NEED to order the Badwich, which while advertised by as a sandwich, really is more of a plentiful helping of meat(bologna, hot link, brisket and rib), with some bread and two sides. This will allow you to appreciate Elmer’s to the its full extent. I’ve been back for dinner or lunch(getting the bologna sandwich) and have even used them for some catering. All sides are pretty good as well. Green beans and baked beans both of nice chunks of meat in them. Potato salad is an interesting take in that it is mashed. I don’t eat coleslaw so I can’t review that. Corn on the cob is available for those who don’t want meat in their vegetables, but if that’s the type of person you are you shouldn’t be going here. Service is also friendly and fast, especially now that all orders and payment are done through a smart pad like interface.

Thanks to Unilocal I was 4⁄4 discovering awesome spots. Elmer’s BBQ was my third stop. In Texas barbecue is a religion, so I was not sure what to think of Elmer’s. The reviews on Unilocal are mixed. I ate lunch and was drawn to the nationally famous Badwich. The barbecue sauce is unlike anything I have had before. It is sweet and had a hint of what I believe is cinnamon. I have never had a finer sauce outside of Texas. It was so good I bought a bottle to take back home. This sandwich(and sauce) is awesome, and I plan to be back soon.

BBQ tastes are really so relative, as we all know, so of course my love for Elmer’s might not translate to everyone. That being said, Elmer’s is really some of the best BBQ around. I’ve had a lot of BBQ of all kinds, and I always forget how good Elmer’s is until I get back around to their sauces, hot links, and baked beans(among other things). It’s just so good and the prices are really reasonable. And the service is awesome. It’s a place where we just feel good eating as a family. I wish everyone could try it. :)

First time visiting and glad we checked it out! Atmosphere is bluesy. It was not over crowded and loud like most restaurants! Loved the food, was delicious! We will be back! :)

Stopped in for the first time for a late lunch. Got a delicious pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw. Fast casual style dining– you put the sauce on at your own discretion, 3 types to choose from. I liked the sweet and mix style best. Food tastes great! Will definitely be back. Very nice owner– took the time to talk with us and answer all of our questions about the place

I was in town on business and happened across this place. I had the pulled pork and a home made piece of pound cake. Great BBQ! I will be back

People typically either LOVE Elmer’s or HATE it. I fall somewhere in the middle. For my money their«mixed» sauce is the best sauce around(which is something like heresy for me since I grew up in Ponca with Head Country). They have 3 sauces they offer — sweet, spicy, and mixed — I would say go with the mixed. It’s got a cinnamon flavor to it(or at least that’s what it tastes like to me). I’ve eaten here a few times and I would say do not, under any circumstances, order the ribs or the brisket. Each time I’ve visited it’s been way overdone. The sausage, hot links, and bologna here are very, very good. My recommendation would be to order a 2-meat sandwich and get hot links and bologna with mixed sauce. You will not be disappointed if you stick to that routine. I think they may use miracle whip in their potato salad, it was a little sweeter than I typically prefer, but most of the sides are pretty solid, if unspectacular.

I was deeply saddened by my food today. I say this with a heavy heart and hope that this was just a one off experience and that the food will improve. I had the World Famous Badwich. I’ve eaten a lot of BBQ and can say without a doubt the ribs were the most under-cooked ribs I’ve EVER had. I thought I was going to have to make a Dentist appointment after trying to pull the meat off the bone and I’m not insured. Thanks Obama. The Sandwich was just OK. The hotlink was over done or had been out for some time and was very tough. The brisket and Bologna were good and covered in sauce it was acceptable but the rest of the meal really dragged down the experience. I hate to put the death knell in Elmer’s but with so many great places to get BBQ in this town it’s not worth the drive anymore to eat here. Step up your game guys or this might be the end.

It’s been several years since I’ve been in to get Elmer’s BBQ. I want to say that I’m definitely glad I stopped by to get some today. The people were friendly and quick to accommodate and it didn’t take long to get my food. The food looked just like the picture on the menu and I was pleased to see that they didn’t skimp on the meat like some places do. I will definitely be coming back to get BBQ more often! The smoke flavor is awesome!!!

Nom. Came here for lunch on a weekday afternoon. It was pretty busy(but I think that was because a LivingSocial deal was ending). There was only 1 waitress taking orders, but she was good and really nice. We got the Nelson plate, which had 6 different meats, Texas toast, and 2 sides — we got the potato salad and beans. Everything was really good(dare i say, better than Burn Co?!). The potato salad isn’t the typical pieces of potato. It’s more like a mashed potato salad, which was a nice change.
