If I could give them 0 stars I would!!! My parents moved all the way from Florida and surprised me! We wanted to go to a really nice dinner since we hadn’t seen each other in over a year. So we went here… The waiter was nice and attentive… But that was it! My mom and I ordered medium steaks… Our steaks came out and both were way over cooked. So we sent them back. The second time mine came out and it was cooked medium rare but I decided that was fine, but my mom’s steak came out raw. So she sent it back again and this time it came out over cooked again! My mom was tired and not feeling good so she went back to the hotel while we waited for her 4th steak to come out. They finally brought it and it was overcooked again but we were like no more!!! We asked for our check and they were still charging us for a steak that was sent back 3 times!!! We asked to speak to a manger and the waiter pleaded with us to not complain about him because if he received one more complaint he would be fired. The manager finally came out and was extremely rude to us and was basically said«well what do you want me to do» we told him we wanted the steak removed from our bill… So he grabbed the check and took off… He didn’t even come back to hand us the new bill… The waiter came back and when we looked at the bill, the manager only took off $ 10!!! The steak alone was over $ 15… We just paid and left… We later tried calling corporate to tell them of our experience and they never called us back… Terrible terrible experience!!!

Our server Eric was great, the food however was not. We had a large party and Eric was very attentive. Two of us ordered calamari and a full rack of ribs. Both calamari steaks were not fully cooked one with a cold baked potato and the other with incorrect green beans. The rack of ribs were like rubber and appeared to have been microwaved, with over cooked corn. Eric was great and took care of the billing for the inadequate food wich is much appreciated. Had it not been for him I would only give one star.

This place was a fail. Unfortunately, I did not have a great experience with the food here. I got the bbq supper plate it comes with bbq chicken, tri tip, ribs, mashed potatoes and corn on the cobb anyways it sucked to say the least. My ribs were all bone and fragile meaning the bone broke into pieces and was super thin. The chicken was the worst part. It was HARD& by hard I mean I tried to stab it with a fork and I couldn’t even make a dent in it. The corn on the cobb was bland tasted like it came from the microwave. At least the Bbq sauce was good, right? My husband ordered a rack of dry rubbed ribs and one of them was cold so that ruined his appetite a bit. The steak tri tip wasn’t too bad, order steak if anything I guess. My son got chicken strips and those we’re bland and not up to par. The fries were good I suppose. Honestly, this place has sucky food and I wouldn’t recommend eating here whatsoever. Service wasnt bad. The girl who seated us didnt even bother bringing us a high chair for my daughter we had to ask another person after a little while wait. Our server was Erik, and he was great. He was very attentive and nice. No complaints for him, good job Erik!

Excellent service! We were seated quickly and served by a very friendly staff. Our drinks were refilled often, and the food was delicious! It’s hard to get a good steak, but this place cooked them perfectly. Can’t wait to go back!

After a 4 day backpacking trip to Yosemite living on freeze dried food, when we really hungry for a nice dinner. We were on Hwy 99 around Tulare about 40 miles north of Bakersfield when we found Cool Hand Luke’s, a «cowboy» style steakhouse, a real«gem» off Hwy 99. For about $ 20 we were served the best tasting steak I have had in years, along with baked potato, fresh steamed veggies, cowboy beans and hot sour dough bread, The waiter was friendly and fast, the restaurant décor reminded me of being back in the cowboy era, great atmosphere. I would highly recommend Cool Hand Luke’s if you’re traveling on the 99.

I had dinner with a coworker tonight. Im not from the area and wanted a steak so we decided to go here. Service was less then desirable. First the 4 people at the front could not decide who shoukd take us as their next table. Once we we seated serivce was ok, not great. I ordered a fillet asked for it medium and it came well but I eas hungry and did not srnd it back but I should have because it was dry. When you spend almost 30 dollars for a steak it should not be so dry that you have to dip it in your mashed potatoes to add moisture. We never got a refill on our drinks, never asked if we wanted refills. Like I said im not from around here but I would not recommend it to anyone. For the price we paid neither the food or service was worth it. Its too bad. At least I still had a good night with my coworker and did not let it ruin the night.

Nice place :-) Big portions, reasonably priced, great experience. Chicken fried steak is huge and I’m told very good. I ordered the ribeye rare… cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Careful though if garlic isn’t your thing. This steak comes topped with a huge amount of flavorful, delicious garlic and mushrooms!(I’m a fan!) I opted for an upgraded side of asparagus and highly recommend. For dessert I took a slice of strawberry pizza back to my hotel… my only disappointment, as it was a let down. The strawberries had no flavor.

Ugh. Never a good experience. All their offers/coupons have a catch. Their ad says 2 entrees and 1 app for $ 25, then at the restaurant they tell you it’s only from 4 select entrees. Service was outright bad. The waitress in the bar area delivered poor service, once bumped into our table very hard with her bus trey and didn’t say a word to us. Didn’t provide a specials menu, just said look over there on the wall we have some specials(which were not very special). Food is VERY mediocre for the price. I don’t know who keeps them in business, must be the hotel next door.

came here for Mother’s day… not really much to say… we were here as default as there are not many options for a steakhouse. we had a group of 9, only positive thing I have to say is that they sat us pretty quick. bout 20mins. service was ehhh… Our server did not know the specials for the day… Our food took a long time for it to come out and all the steaks came over cooked… I was the only brave soul to send it back risking to get it back with something special… but it still wasn’t rite… Overall not coming back, food wasnt anything special would have been better off going to Applebee’s or something. only gave it an extra star cuz they ssy quickly.

If you like shit food you’ll love this place! Just take $ 20 bucks a person and shove it in your blender; add dog food, flower, water and grill until burnt to a crisp. I just saved you the trip, your welcome.

I keep telling myself that this place will be better every time I come here. The bad thing is I always prove myself wrong. The service is good but the steaks and prime rib always leave a lot to be desired. They must use a cheaper cut of meat and the seasoning I just can’t explain.

Always a great choice and right off the 99 great Happy Hour, hor duevres, and good steaks On this visit we had the tri tip & chicken. Both were cooked perfectly. We will be back!

LOVELOVE this place. Came here on a Thursday after walk that poor excuse of a Outlet Mall. We sat in the bar which has that old western theme to it. Caught happy hour so the beers and blooming onion were on special(picture posted). The garlic butter that came with the warm rolls were awesome. I did not care for the beans but my boyfriend loved it. For entrée I had the steak fajita and this is where they lost the one star, the meat was flavorful but had a flakiness to it. Boyfriend had New York with mashed. I kinda wished I got that because it was not flakey meat. But if I were ever in the area I would go back. I wish there were one near the BAYAREA
