I came into the store today(03/24/2016) to look at the Easter sales. I enjoy shopping at these types of stores because of the cool finds and prices of course! BUT this review is for the much needed customer service training. There were only two lanes open, it’s 6:00 pm and the lines are growing. I see three employees standing by registers 4 and 5, not doing anything. I asked, «Are you open?» The heavyset cashier that was just standing there responded in an extremely rude way, «I’m on my break!» Then she turned back to chit chat with the other two employees just standing there. Why don’t people actually go take their break? It would look a lot better than just standing at the front of the store, looking like a lazy person. I feel bad for the other two hard working employees(Susi and another girl), checking out customers in their lanes, having to pick up the lazy cashier’s slack. I’ll just stick to Grocery Outlet, much more variety in food and the customer service is warm and welcoming.

99 Cents Only Stores are always fun and amusing to shop at. This chain of stores are in just about every major city in California. In the past, I have bought canned Lycees. When I see them, I usually buy 24 – 36 cans. No luck this time as I will have to check another one of their locations. What I did find was fresh Mini Cucumbers, ideal for making Spicy Korean Salad. Imagine, a bag of 4 Mini Cucumbers for 99 cents. You can’t find that price anywhere else… I bought 2 bags Other 99 cent items I found were; HDMI Cables, Dried Figs and Sex In The Beach(see photo) *** 99 Cents Only is great place to shop when you’re looking for deals ***

Wow! Wow! Wow! 3 cheers for the newly remodeled store! They have 10 times more items than before. The store is under the same management, same checkers that are very friendly. I am going to start making my weekly. trips back here again, and not the dollar tree so much anymore.

I made the mistake of coming to get milk and tomatoes… the tomatoes were all ROTTEN ! I got stinky tomatoe juice all over my hand when I picked up the tomato container, GROSS !!! I continued to look around and the avocados were all rotten as well, lettuce was gross, floor was dirty, and a guy was riding his bike around the store. I tried to go down an aisle were an employee was and she didn’t move her cart for me to get through and when my husband asked if we can move her cart she made a face of disgust. I said«thank you» and she didn’t say anything in response so I said«thank you» a little louder, still nothing, so thinking maybe she was hard of hearing I said«thank you» a third time… nothing! I WILLNOTBERETURNINGTOTHISSTORE!!!

I admit it; I love to shop, and I love to spend money. There are soooo many things here that you can buy for… drumroll please… 99 cents! There are certain things, however, that I will not compromise on — even to save a few bucks. Surprisingly, 99 Cents Only carries enough name brands to satisfy even me. On this particular visit, I found Kleenex brand tissues, Propel fitness water, Reynolds aluminum foil, flavored chapstick(2 sticks for .99), Duncan Hines brownies, and Crystal Geyser bubbling mineral water. My mom also found some great brand name buys! My favorite thing to buy at the 99 Cents Only Stores is toys for my prize box. Did I mention that I was a kindergarten teacher? I have bought all kinds of things for the prize box that my students go gaga for: rubber stamps, plastic firemen & policemen, rubber/plastic dinosaurs, snakes, bugs, and fish; real shells(particularly popular with the girls), little bottles of bubble stuff(originally packaged for weddings — 9 in a box for .99) and plastic hairclips and barrettes. They are all brightly colored, fun, and stand up to use by 5 year olds! AND it saves me a ton of money!(which I’ll end up spending somewhere else, but that’s another story altogether) Check out $.99 Only Store and see if you can’t find something you need for less, so you can save your money for something special! P. S. I’ve even seen pregnancy tests in the checkout aisle, which brings several questions to mind. Number One — Is a pregnancy test REALLY an impulse item? Number Two — If one was TRULY in need of a pregnancy test, would you put your trust in the one from the 99 Cents Only Store? That’s a topic for another reviewer to expound upon as I was rather definitely not in the market for one ;)
