I absolutely love everything about this unique bar. It’s intimate, seating mainly for 2, great service. I know nothing about wine and every time I go the server helps me pick out a wine I’ll like and if I don’t, it’s no problem. Delightful little place. Definitely recommend!

Cool place with extensive beer/wine menus and great service. The exposed brick walls are beautiful and the décor is inviting and comfortable. I can’t wait to go back!

This is a cool bar with great atmosphere. Wines were good, but really wished that they would also stock & serve Arizona Wines. They have live music on certain nights.

Super cute intimate place right on Congress St. for a nice glass of wine or beer. The staff are all very friendly and the selection ranges in price for those who are not looking to break the bank on wine. I haven’t tried any of their snacks yet but will be coming back for more!

Tiny but cute. Stopped by on Halloween because I didn’t want to pay $ 40 for the block party. It’s really small, kind of like eating in a storage unit but it’s really cute. The staff is very nice and the appetizers are tasty. I just wish that it was in a larger spot. And contrary to the rumors there is not a midget fight club in the back. Thank goodness.

If you’ve got a date night coming up, this is the place to go! Incredibly romantic, very knowledgable and helpful wait staff, and fun food/drink choices. This place is exactly what you would hope for out of a wine bar. It is a small place, so expect to get cozy with whoever you bring.

This place was a gem of a find. So people are going to complain that it wasn’t bumping or it was small. But it is a wine bar. Perfect date spot IMHO. I loved that they catered to European beers. They had them on tap and in typical fashion, poured each in their own glass to the proper rastal level with the proper head. I feel like they’ve gone to lengths to make it more authentic in this regard(as someone that lived in Germany for a year). My friend and I went and sat at the bar. Cool guy. hope to see you there again when I come back down to Tucson.

I went here based off of friend’s recommendation and I was not disappointed! The ambiance of the wine bar alone is trendy and cozy. The immediately vibe is intimate and romantic. They were also playing contemporary jazz music. It’s hole-in-the-wall type of place that isn’t noticeable… Which could be a good thing since the space is pretty small inside. My boyfriend and I walked in at 10:30pm on a Friday and didn’t need to wait for a table. I assume during happy hour that it’s impossible to get a spot. They have about 12 two-seat high-tops, and then two 10-seat tables in the center. The staff were very friendly and helpful once we sat down. They have a daily wine, red, and rosé on special for $ 5 a glass. We decided to choose a red flight which included three glasses for $ 15. The daily was a Merlot from Southern France. It was a safe pick. The 2008 Cabernet– Sauvignon was a little bold, also from France. The last was our favorite, a Barbera from Piemonte, Italy. It had a lingering boldness. We ended up purchasing a glass for $ 11? I don’t recall the exact amount. The food was also delicious! We ordered two bruschette for $ 1.5 each. The mascarpone pistachio fig was perfect! The density of the mascarpone balanced well with the sweetness of the fig and the saltiness of the pistachio. We also ordered the tomato basil which was equally delicious. The caprese salad that we order did not disappoint. The mozzarella was perfect and firm. It was $ 8. Finally towards the end of the meal we tried the $ 3 pretzel with the beer infused cheese sauce. The cheese sauce was delicious but obviously not the best choice to order when drinking the Barbera wine. The cheese had a slight spice to it which overly brought out the boldness in the wine. We were just hungry and wanted one more item to eat. Overall… Atmosphere: 5 Quality: 5 Service: 5 Price: 5

Hit and a miss as far as service goes. I’ve been there twice and had a great time on my first visit. I went alone and sat at the bar, met some cool guys from out of town and the bartender was great. He knew a lot about the beers and wines and even shared some stuff about the owner and his wine journey. I was a pretty good experience. The second time, I felt a little more rushed by our server even though they weren’t terribly busy. I felt that his wine recommendations were based on price and not really his interest in my experience there, but overall it was still a good experience. As far as the bar goes, it has a nice atmosphere and a good feel to it. It might be a little cramped for parties of 4 or more or for individuals that like some elbow room but definitely a good stop while exploring downtown Tucson if you’re looking for a low-key wine break and a snack.

Unplugged is a wonderful place for best friends and lovers. It is small, dark, cool and relaxing with a romantic appeal that is just slight — think of lilies, not roses. I met with a dear friend for the first visit. We’d had our eyeballs on the spot for a couple months and were surprised to learn that it has been open since September 2013. Really?! And this was only our first visit. It seems fitting to stop in before or after dinner. You’ll find a nice range of beers and a decent sampling of most old world style wines. For the indecisive, Tuesday will likely be your favorite of the week, when half-priced wine flights are offered. We had 12 tastes between us for about $ 24. And no full menu, but the boards are quite nice. We went with assorted cheese, fruit, nuts and smoked salmon. Plentiful offering, and both fresh and delicious. Only thing location has against it is downtown parking, though a parking garage is about one block away.

Unplugged is a very cramped space in downtown tucson, with German draft beer on tap and imported wines. They don’t have any real food options, so thoroughly a wine bar in every sense, but the appetizer/desert options they have are very tasty. Their drink options are good, but I feel unplugged is very narrow in the options it gives you. The lighting is very dim and combined with the lack of space unplugged is pretty much relegated to dinner dates in my opinion; I wouldn’t want to come here with a large group of friends. I enjoy the freedom to move without feeling like I’m going to knock everything over constantly, so the lack of space really gets to me.

Intimate space, good wine selection, tasty tapas style items, excellent service! We enjoyed our visit before a theater event, as the service was speedy and gracious, accommodating wheelchair space needs, too. The Mediterranean Plate was an ample almost dinner entrée for two, with excellent stuffed grape leaves and spicy stuffed red peppers and other assorted goodies on the plate! The house wines were quite good and reasonable. The sherry was amazing(which, at $ 17.00 a glass it should be, but, fortunately, I did not ask the price first, as I would have missed out on the most mellow sherry I have ever had!).

Was a little skeptical at first but this place is great. Very small but great atmosphere. Bartender is awesome and had alot of knowledge about the wine and beer. The raspberry sour beer was delicious and the cheese plates look amazing. Definitely didn’t leave unhappy.

Had an absolutely fantastic time here! I’ve walked and driven by several times and finally found an excuse to stop in. Lovely ambience, delicious snacks(we had two orders of the smoked salmon sliders, and I highly recommend the goat cheese and radicchio bruschette), and top notch service. If we didn’t have a show to get to, we could have say there all night. A very intimate setting, max seating is probably 30 in the whole place, but that’s part of the charm. Can’t wait to bring hubby back for a date night.

This place is a hidden gem of Tucson! So not only is the ambiance amazing and warm and welcoming, but the owner is phenomenal. This is the essence of what it means to be a «local» venue. I and a friend from Dallas were visiting a great friend in Tucson, and we arrived basically mid day. I’m not gonna lie, we just wanted to drink and be merry. So we wandered down Congress cause my Tucson friend tells me that Unplugged is fantastic! We must’ve arrived around 2 or 3, because they were CLEARLY closed. But the owner was just walking out, and we vaguely express our disappointment in not getting to experience this great venue. He totally, let’s us come in and drink! How friggin awesome is that?! So, they sell us a bottle of wine, and we are totally chillin out shooting the breeze, while they are preparing to open for all the normies out there. I was blown away with their willingness to accommodate us. Wine was great, we had the time of our lives, and once happy hour rolled around, we moseyed on down to the next stop in our journey. Unbelievable service! Loved this experience!

Unplugged served as the perfect Ladies Night venue for me and my five lady-friends. It’s an intimate, fun, and unpretentious wine bar — perfect for Tucson. The menu explained all of our choices fairly well. And, if we had any questions(which we did), the sommelier was extremely friendly and helpful. I chose the«Obscure» flight. It did not disappoint. The flight came with three glasses — each filled with a rose, chardonnay, and zinfandel. I liked the chardonnay the best!

Enjoyed the wine and the Somm. Did not enjoy the food. The cheese board was very small and unappealing. We ordered a pizza and it said on the menu 20 minutes for preparation, little did I know that meant 20 minutes for it to be cooked at another restaurant and walked over. It was quite humorous to see someone from Empire pizza walking through the front door with out pizza shortly after we ordered it. The room is small and quaint and I really enjoy the ambience and the family-style tables. The problem is for me to drink a nice bottle of wine I need some good food to go with it, I don’t think I would go back unless the food gets better.

A review in Haiku: Knowledgeable somm Plus cozy wooden setting Makes a great wine bar Rich’s recommendation: if you like and know your wine, try their«Obscure» flight and see if there’s something new for you. If you don’t like or know your wine, talk to any of the somms and they will point you in a good direction. Bonus: their pizza comes from Empire across the street.

I’m not too impressed right now. The ambiance is really nice, and definitely fits the theme of the wine bar. The menu is limited, and the glasses of wine are on the pricey side for Tucson. I’m sure they’re good quality, but when I can get wine much cheaper at other places, I’m not inclined to have more than one glass here. The staff wasn’t very helpful, and couldn’t even tell me what the House Red was for the day. They have a limited menu of cheese, hummus, etc., and you can now get pizzas from Empire. The pizza takes 20 minutes though, which seems silly when I can get a slice immediately from the source, and isn’t exactly what I’d like to be pairing with wine. I like the concept, and think it could be a good addition to the downtown scene, but there’s a few kinks to work out first.

First visit so I can’t quite give it five stars. Went for happy hour. The décor and ambiance is just what I want in a wine bar. There is a decent selection of wines & wine flights and a small selection of food. They do serve beer and limited spirits. Actually my friend ordered the George Thorogood flight– one bourbon, one scotch, and one beer. It was good. I had a wine flight which was very enjoyable. The service was good and prices are about right. They do take $ 1 off everything for happy hour. Overall a great addition to downtown. I am soooooo happy we have a real wine bar! Can’t wait to go back.
