Sir Veza’s Taco Garage

My boyfriend and I went in to get a Togo order… Big mistake. We ended up waiting 45 minutes for 2 small plates of food to take home. We thought about leaving because we have other things to do than sit around for almost an hour waiting for food. The bartender Liz on the other hand is the reason they’re getting any stars from me. Even with a full bar she still managed to get us drinks take our order the second we were ready she was the only part of this restaurant that was moving fast. She had a great attitude and had a smile on her face at all times. Even people who sat after us got their food first. I probably won’t be back.

I recently hosted an event on the covered patio for about 20 guests. We host similar events on a regular basis and it never ceases to amaze me what terrible customer service you get as a large party. Not the case at Sir Vezas on Wetmore! Shawn, one of the site managers, was accommodating from the start and even worked with the chefs to appease our vegan and gluten free guests. The off menu selections they came up with were fantastic, even the carnivores in the group were impressed. Our server, Joey, was personable, efficient, and a pleasure to be around. Shawn clearly handpicked him for his ability to handle a large group. Shawn made herself available throughout the duration of the event and regularly checked in to make sure we were happy. It could not have gone smoother and I am already looking for ways to utilize the amazing Low Rider private room for our next event!

Very mediocre food and shitty service: tried this place more than a few times and it’s clear the food is always shitty.

Well this was an awful let down. Maybe they’re short staffed?
We were seated at a table and it took them 30, yes 30 minutes to take our drink order. We ordered a tower, 120 oz, (10 beers). There are ten of us. Beer goes in 30 minutes. We order a pitcher and one cocktail. Our 2 friends show up, who are 100% sober, and every one hugs, they put an order in, the manager stops the waitress and cancels the drink order, not the food order.
When the waitress comes back, she says she can’t bring us any more drinks, when my friend says «but I haven’t drank anything yet.» She puts her hand on hers and says «I SAID YOU CAN HAVE WATER» and then she asks to cancel the food order, they walk away, and bring back all of the food.
We’re not drunk at all, yet they are happy to deny us beverages, at a bar, on a Friday night. Hmmmm I guess we won’t ever come back here.
Also they have some poor old Asian lady handing out towels for tips in the bathroom. Pathetic.
And the food was cold.
Joey was great though, he was attentive and did his best, sorry you have to work here.

Can’t go at lunch if you only have an hour as it takes to long. I don’t always want to be in a place over an hour anyway. The food was good though but go when your not on a deadline.

I’ve never been to a food-​serving establishment that so consistently serves garbage to its customers. I’ve gotten 4 entrees from Sir Vezas while hanging out with friends and have been repulsed by all 4. Tonight I thought, maybe I’m just ordering the wrong things so I gave it another shot.
Boy was I wrong. If food is what you’re after, eat literally anywhere else before you consider going to Sir Vezas.
Forget that it took me 30 minutes to pay on a Sunday night.

I have mixed feelings about this place. Cool vibe and tunes on Saturday night. The bar was packed and the place was fairly full. Service was hit or miss. Or waitress was great but it took forever to get a waitress. The food and drinks were good. The happy hour specials were decent as well.

I had a really great time here. From the name we assumed it was a classic Mexican restaurant the whole «da da da da duh» etc. however it was completely different… In a good way! They have a fun atmosphere great bar selection great bar look enthusiastic servers and a good selection of food that tasted great! It’s a great place to take people from out of town! I would watch a football game there too with all the TVs posted around.
The only thing negative I have to say about this place was that I was an idiot and forgot my takeout box on the table! I had gotten the fajitas which were wonderful

I love the décor! The restroom is awesome, I prefer this Sir Veza’s compared to the one on Speedway.

service below abysmal — our waitress was more interested in playing with her hair (gross, while taking our order) and flirting with a customer at the end of the bar than doing her job. We couldn’t even get her attention when we needed a fix on the food —
and the so-​called food — just above bad — fish taco was a fried blob of goo — chips came in a dinky bucket (salsa wasn’t bad) but flour tortillas cold and gummy.
will NEVER go back.

Great food here, and the tacos are huge! Pretty cool atmosphere and country music. Not a splitting representation of authentic Mexican food, but a darn good, fresh, high quality, Americanized version.

Not having grapefruit juice at a bar this busy and within 2 minutes of multiple stores that carry it is inexcusable. Had salsa and chips which were excellent, but why should I have to ask for a napkin. What’s wrong with that server?
$ 28 for 3 drinks and poor service is just not acceptable when there are so many other places to go.

Fun atmosphere. Food was decent for sports bar type food. Service was horrible but I think it’s because of the lame guy waiter. All the female waitresses were on top of it but ours was just slow and never came around to check up on us.

This place is awesome. The women’s bathroom was great, they even had an attendant in there.
The food was okay, I mean it wasn’t the best I’ve ever had or anything. The place AS A WHOLE is what will keep me coming back.
We watched the game and our server Alejandro made us feel very comfy with staying a little longer than normal because we wanted to finish the game. :)
It was great! We will be back!

If you decide to go here make sure you ask for anyone but a server named Kayla. Not to single any person out as that seems mean and unproductive, cell phone in back pocket with e cigarette, constantly chatting with other co workers, and coming by our table every 25 minutes seems to be theme at Sir Vezas taco garage. Even at the worst of times I’ll tip no less than 20%. Yet last night I brought myself to tip $ 1 because that’s how our party of five who spent more than $ 100 were treated. Great food. Awful staff with less than zero common sense. The only reason this establishment is still in business is due to good food, beer towers, and chips & salsa. Don’t waste your time

When I read the reviews for this place, they seemed to be all over the place, so I tried to come here with an open mind. In first getting here, we were seated right away and a server came and helped us right away. We decided to go with the taco tour (3 tacos, one from each taco section). I chose the carne asada, fish and chicken club tacos. The only bad thing I would have to say is the meat was a little dry in the chicken and fish. Also, the chicken club had a little too much bacon in it. Kind of overwhelmed the flavor. Same for my wife’s plate for the fish tacos. She ordered that, and the salmon and shrimp tacos. The last 2 were delicious according to her.
Overall, the food was good, the atmosphere is very sporty/​gear head and the service was fast. I would recommend this place for lunch or maybe a get-​together with friends; don’t know about dinner yet.

came here last friday night for happy hour with my co-​workers.
they made a reservation for 10 of us and i got there around six. one of my co-​workers was already seated (with some of his friends). the hostess just pointed in the general direction of where they were sitting and said, «oh yeah, they’re over there». well, my co-​worker wasn’t sitting there (he had gone to the restroom) so i stood there looking like an idiot for about 3 — 4 minutes until he made his way back and found me standing there, lost.
there had been some kind of conflict with my co-​worker and the waiter already, and my co-​worker wasn’t too thrilled. apparently, they found a hair in some of the food they ordered but nobody had come by to address the matter.
once more of our co-​workers showed up, we had to keep asking for things which should have automatically been brought to us. things like menus, napkins, water, silverware. we ordered some drinks and it took almost over an hour for our party to receive them. one of the girls didn’t even get her drink when the rest were delivered and had to wait longer than that.
the excuse was that someone else kept taking our waiter’s order…
we got some appetizers to share and the cheese crisp was absolutely, hands down the worst cheese crisp i’ve ever had. that shouldn’t be hard to mess up, right? it’s just tortilla and cheese. (i uploaded a photo)
i really had higher expectations of this place because i had heard some really great things about it. also considering that it’s owned and operated by the family who have some other great establishments around town, this one just didn’t appease me.
the only reason they’re getting two stars instead of one, is that they had so many televisions with the game on.

I love this place!!! Not only is their happy hour amazing it’s just right down the street from the house. My roomate and I just love coming here every Sunday to just unwind our weekend journey and bring it to an end before starting up our Mondays again.
The atmosphere, staff, and drinks here I can’t complain. They are very friendly and the owners as well. Even the chef comes out to hang out sometimes! I always go for the happy hour like $ 4 pints or pitch in with some friends for a 100ml beer tower! You will definitely not be disappointed. I also found out they do karaōke nights too. There is some pretty great singers there, like Britney and Eddie who both have a great voice.
If you’re looking for a place to just hangout, have some drinks and chill. This is the place to be. Maybe you’ll see me there!
