Great food, nice clean place. It shows thier food is made from scratch with love. My wife and I always wanted to try this place out. It is one of our favorite breakfast places. You will not be disappointed. It is a good place for a nice breakfast. If your looking for a good homemade breakfast give Robert’s a try.

I love this place! Great food, speedy service and cinnamon rolls to die for. There is always a line at the door. I sat at the bar today and got to watch the interaction between the kitchen and servers. I was amazed at how fast the kitchen and servers work. Literally they don’t stop. And in between the hustle and bustle the servers provide great service.

They are always busy, but it’s worth the wait. It’s cheap, easy and food never disappoints. Always a great diner experience here!

Ordered an all meat omelet. Wish they would dice up all the meat. It was still tasty and I’d love to come in again if im ever in town. Also, ordered biscuits with the chorizo gravy, it was on point. Very good. Other than that, the waitresses were super friendly and attentive.

My rating only applies to breakfast food, since that’s all I’ve eaten here. Omelets and hashbrowns are cooked well without being greasy, and in general the food is good, filling, and modestly priced.

What isn’t there to love about Robert’s? This is a very small, casual diner with breakfast and lunch. I’ve only had breakfast here and never been disappointed. Many of their breakfast combos include coffee or tea. Most are under $ 8, and many of them are even cheaper than that! Last time I ate here, I ordered a plate of food with a side and coffee and paid $ 7. They’ll cook your food to order exactly as you like it. In terms of breakfast basics, if you like eggs and potatoes, you won’t be disappointed. I tried their chorizo biscuits and gravy, one of there more unique food items. Delicious! It’s phenomenal. Spicy but not overwhelming with heat with well made biscuits. They also have jalapeño bread, my preferred choice for toast. It has small pieces to create the perfect balance of flavor. The other unique offering at Robert’s is their cinnamon rolls. The cinnamon rolls are a MUST. Warning, they are big, so great to share with a group. My friends and I usually split one for the table. It easily feeds 3 – 5 people. We order the cinnamon roll cut and half with a side of butter. We always spread the butter over both sides and drizzle the icing on top. You can also add pecans. It’s only a few dollars but absolutely magical. Whoever thought to grill a cinnamon roll is a straight-up genius. The sugar just start to caramelize and infuse extra flavor. The butter adds another layer of flavor that turns into heaven in your mouth. There’s usually a wait on a Saturday morning, as the restaurant is small, but we never waited more than 15 minutes. It’s definitely a low-key, casual brunch place(no fancy weekend brunching with mimosas here), and it’s absolutely phenomenal.

Medium size restaurant with a country feel with very nice and helpful staff. Nothing fancy, just very good food with their specialty being the cinnamon roll cooked on I ordered the Country Breakfast on thw recommendation of oir waitress and it was awesome. The fried potatoes with diced bacon sautéed onions monterrey and cheddar cheese was so good, great combination and they made it work. The homemade toast was good but i expected homemadr jelly also but misread how it was listed on the menu. My daughter had the Cinnamon Roll with Eggs and Bacon. The cinnamon roll was cut in half and grilled which was awesome and the eggs cooked per ordered and the Bacon was nice and criisp. Egg White Vegetable & Cheddar Cheese Omelette was generous and cooked well, my wife ordered with egg whites. 2 eggs New York Steak potatoes came with a generous portion of steak which looked larger than 8oz. Did i mention the Cinnamon Roll Grilled with Pecans, was lime heaven, nice and soft with the grilled side cooked just right. Truly one of best breakfast places I have been to in AZ, thoroughly enjoyed our total experience.

Boyfriend ate the chorizo biscuits n gravy he licked the plate dry. And the lil man had pancakes and eggs. We couldn’t leave without pie! LoL

I’ve lived in Tucson since 1957 and had never eaten here. I really wanted to love it, based on the reviews and Roberts’ reputation. Pros: Homemade bread was very good(would have preferred it more toasted) and the bacon was great. I am sure they make an awesome BLT. Cons: Home fries tasted old, were flavorless and a bit rubbery. Breakfast is my litmus test for any restaurant, and unfortunately, Roberts did not come up to snuff. I understand that their pies and cinnamon rolls are to die for, but that’s not my go-to breakfast fare. Service was great, but I won’t be returning.

The five stars go to the cinnamon roll. It is probably one of the best I have ever had. And if you can get it fresh out of the oven? Talk about heaven. Rumor has it that they will make it into french toast if you want.

I love being the youngest person by 40 years every time I come to this restaurant. In fact, last time I made $ 50 selling little vials of water from the«Fountain of Youth» after telling patrons that I was 75 also. Anyways, we order the fish and chips quite frequently and please, let me tell you, for lunch this is a remarkable deal. For 8.99 every Friday, they offer HUGE big breaded white fish, fried, with mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw, flavorful bread, and a beverage. It is enough to make 2 meals out of. I’ve also had their liver and onions with bacon, and it too was delightful and reasonably priced. Now the décor is dated and the service is typical for an inexpensive yet tasty restaurant. I find that I prefer a couple of other places because they are either less expensive and same service/décor — or they are only a touch more expensive but the service and décor is outstanding. This is easily fixed with a little paint and newer chairs/tables and a little friendliness training. But there is also a certain charm that exists the way it is, so it’s fair game but not 5 star. I haven’t ventured into the normal sandwiches or breakfast plates, so I can’t speak on the ordinary… but the above dishes are extraordinary. Worth checking out.

It was an authentic pleasure eating at roberts. It was my first time and my family loved it. The jalapeño toast is out of this world delicious. My autistic boy loved it and it was the restaurant where he was comfortable enough to actually eat. He even eat more at Roberts than at home. So autism parents, this place is great and the staff was great.

I love local places and this one was awesome! I got the breakfast burger, which I never heard of and it was great! The staff was nice, it was fast too! I went with my sister and she said she had the best turkey club she’s ever had. I don’t like their hours though, I wish they were open longer.

Thank you for letting me know! That’s great to have that option. I will come back and give that a try my next morning I have off. Thank you so much for letting me know that those are options. We have missed going to Roberts and have been trying others but no one compares especially on Cinnamon rolls.

While visiting in Tucson, I was looking for a place to have a good breakfast at a decent price. I didn’t want any kind of chain restaurant so I looked at Unilocal to see what others had to recommend. Robert’s Restaurant came up and so I put my faith in the public and decided to give it a shot. Many, many thanks to all those that reviewed Robert’s and persuaded me to try it. I loved the place. I loved the hometown feel. The waitresses were so friendly and so warm, it was like having a meal with family. The food was great and it came so fast! The longer I was there, the more Ioved the place. The waitresses talked with everyone and made sure everyone’s needs were met. Awesome place! Awesome food!

Very friendly service and casual atmosphere. Service has always been excellent and they make feel at home. I mainly come here for the Country Fried Steak. It’s a thick cut of Top Round Steak thinly breaded served with delicious country white gravy. Also served with vegetables and roll at reasonable price. They also make homemade pies that are delicious as well.

I have been wanting to go to Robert’s for some time based on recommendations, but as Sunday used to be my only day off, I was always disappointed to see the restaurant closed, which I feel is a poor day to be closed, but I can understand the merits of it. However, I happened to have a weekday off and my sister treated me to lunch. Boy, am I glad we were able to go to Robert’s! I ordered the Southwest turkey sandwich and I am still going on about how it’s the best turkey sandwich I’ve ever had. I’m accustomed to dry, flavorless turkey, but this was clearly seasoned well and moist and the addition of the homemade jalapeño bread was a perfect combination. My sister splurged and went for the breakfast burger, which was a burger patty topped with bacon and an egg, and ate her leftovers for her next meal at home. The service was impeccable and friendly. I hope someday to go for breakfast, as their breakfast specials sound like something to experience. I hope someday they’ll consider being open on Sundays!

I’ve always eyeballed Robert’s as I drove down Grant Road but it was usually in the late afternoon when they were closed. Well, a day off with my L brought us to the vicinity during Robert’s business hours so we decided to give it a try. Typical diner atmosphere and the servers are gems and were making sure their regulars felt the love all the while welcoming new patrons like us. I’ve heard about the cinnamon rolls at Robert’s and of course, had to order that immediately. Our server suggested we try half grilled or toasted and topped with butter and the other half with pecans and all the glorious gooey icing. It really was outstanding and nothing like the sickeningly sweet Cinnabon thing in the malls. Sadly, the rest of our meal was just average. It wasn’t BAD, but it was average. L’s country fried steak was overdone and the gravy was decent. The biscuits and chorizo gravy caught my eye so I had to try it. Our server asked if I like spicy food and I replied to the affirmative. While waiting for our food to be delivered, a woman at a neighboring table commented that her husband often orders the chorizo gravy and whoo-whee, is it hot! FAIL. Not spicy. At all. Now this is probably just a matter of taste preference because people obviously like it but for me, it was bland and dull. Robert’s has typical diner food on the menu along with some interesting selections — a Greek omelet, homemade corned beef hash, trout & eggs, liver & onions, etc. And there’s always a daily special. Yes, I’d go back to Robert’s but it’d probably be for a cinnamon roll and coffee.

We’ve been checking out different breakfast spots since moving in closer to town. We were previously located north of Moore road which limited the number of practical choices. Today, we decided to head to Robert’s. It’s been around for years and I’ve driven past it commuting countless times. At around 10am Saturday, it was packed, with a waiting list. The speed of service is really fast though, so tables turn over quickly, and the wait was less than 20 minutes. Everything here is made in-house. You can see the loaves of freshly baked bread stacked on the shelf in the kitchen. I ordered the house-made corned beef hash with eggs over medium and jalapeño toast. My wife ordered the Mediterranean omelet also with the jalapeño toast. Everything was cooked to perfection. My wife is wary of ordering omelets since they are often overcooked, but this one was just right. The corned beef was delicious as well. Robert’s will definitely be on our rotation, although we’ll probably opt for weekday visits to avoid the crowds.

Homely and comfortable place with good service. The country breakfast was way too greasy for my liking. Eggs were decent. I like the cinnamon rolls and the jalapeño toast. Overall, not a bad place but not a great one either.

Originally we came here for their World Famous Cinnamon rolls, ok maybe just Tucson Famous. We ended up ordering regular breakfast(i.e. eggs, sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, toast and a small stack) that was extremely delicious that we forgot about the aforementioned cinnamon roll. Ok, maybe we didn’t forget but we were too stuffed from the breakfast and LARGE stack of pancakes that were disguised as a small stack to consume anything more without unbuttoning our pants and posting up shop for a few hours — we’re classy people here. The regular breakfast was as good as a home cooked meal. The pancakes were fluffy and filling(see above). The bacon was so delectable that when my husband dropped his last piece on the floor he contemplated eating it after he picked it up, mind you my husband is a mega germaphobe(too many micro bio classes), thats how good it was. We’ll definitely venture back to attempt our original mission.

Atmosphere: There is a warm local diner feel to the interior of the restaurant. Hand written specials are on the walls. It is definitely not commercial and you can tell that it is not a franchise, which are key elements for me. I like to go to locally owned restaurants and business before chains. Product: It looks like normal breakfast fare. The proclamation of handmade pies and being able to purchase their bread was on the walls. It created desire, but we did not end up eating here. Service: This is where our experience at Roberts started and ended. When we arrived there were a number of people waiting including a large party. We were expecting to wait a bit, but the tables turned over pretty fast. After about 15 minutes I noticed a couple who arrived after us get seated and then it happen 3 more times. At this point we had been waiting approximately 25 minutes. My wife went up to inquire about our name on the list and the hostess acknowledge that we had been looked over. We expected to be seated next. That is not what happened. A couple that arrived no more then 5 minutes prior was seated. At this point we had enough and we stood up and the hostess looked at us and said sorry. At this point we decided to walk out. Conclusion: Mistakes happen and there are was that they can be rectified. The chance was given to Robert’s when they discovered we had been overlooked. Yet they failed to provide us with the next ready table. This is disappointing, because I have lived about ¼ of a mile away from this place for years and have always wanted to try it. It was my wife’s birthday and we decided that it would be nice to check it out. Although if might be a one time occurrence, I doubt that we will return anytime in the near future. I will point my friends in another direction if they ever inquire about eating at Robert’s.

Really don’t get the hype. Robert’s Restaurant was a decent restaurant with decent food. Five stars considering every restaurant in Tucson? Definitely not. First of all, their waiting area is bizarrely shaped and tiny. We walked in and weren’t sure what to do. Other breakfast places have a sign in sheet, but theirs was faced away from customers and pulled back nearly off the counter so we weren’t sure if we should sign in or not. We waited until we saw another customer cut in line in front of us and sign in without the host even acknowledging our presence. Fine, so be it. We signed the sheet. They either have a staffing issue or only hire extremely stressed people because everyone was running around like their hair was on fire. The host was literally gesturing to tables to seat people rather than taking them there. IDGI? I hosted in a restaurant triple the size when I was in college and it’s not that hard. We waited outside for a few minutes and were seated quickly. Our server promptly brought us coffee and water(spilling the coffee everywhere, poor girl). We looked over the menu and it was standard breakfast fare. I had a denver omelette with hash browns and my husband had the chicken fried steak with home fries. Our meals took about 15 minutes to arrive, too long for breakfast/diner food, in my opinion. When you have competition in the area that serves in under 5 minutes, you have to be prompt. The food was fine. Really liked the homemade bread. However, I am 99% sure the hash browns were previously frozen from the grocery store. Really disappointing. My husband’s home fries were decent. Not once did either of us feel amazed by our food. Maybe we would have felt that way in college, nursing a hangover. I don’t know.(But with their prices compared to the MUCH cheaper breakfast prices in the area, I don’t know why college students would waste their money here). The majority of our conversation was regarding how much better other breakfast places are. Disappointing. I don’t understand the draw here. Next time, we’ll wait in line for Bobo’s instead.

If savory is more you thing, try the breakfast specials with the thick slice of ham or the tender steak. As of November 8, 2014, Robert’s Restaurant became my new(but old) favorite breakfast spot in my college town of Tucson. I can’t believe I lived there six years without knowing about this dreamland. Maybe it was for the best, because now it’s something I will always look forward to when I’m in Tucson! I don’t even know where to begin… Peggy. We will begin with the most wonderful lady of a server, Peggy. She was patient, accommodating, and refilling my coffee on the fly. She made great suggestions and complimented our selections. As a table, we started with the homemade cinnamon roll cut in half and grilled to perfection. They did just that. A cinnamon roll should always be eaten like that. It comes with a side of frosting that is sweet but not too sweet, an «I can’t even» combination. My sister Brooke, a Robert’s occasion regular, recommended something that was not on the menu that she had ordered before: homemade jalapeño cheese biscuits and chorizo gravy. AREYOUKIDDINGME?! It’s everything you imagine it to be; savory flavors just bouncing off your tastebuds delicious. The picture doesn’t do it justice. My sister ordered a chocolate chip belgain waffle which looked awesome and Zach got the steak and eggs, which was a great deal for the amount of food he enjoyed! Before we left, Peggy gave my sister and I each a Robert’s t-shirt free of charge that I will happily wear in Phoenix. I can’t wait to head back!

Cinnamon roll was amazing like all the other reviews say. I got it grilled. Last but definitely not least is the amazing hospitality the women there have. Thanks!

So, as promised I went back to Roberts dinner. My friend ordered the exact plate I had last time and it was really good. I ordered the steak and eggs. The steak is very fatty and wouldn’t I recommend. We ordered the cinnamon roll again and we loved it. We even ordered a second one. Although, service was yet again an issue here. I asked to speak to the owner let him know things I thought were much better. He refused to come to get table. He sent a waitress to ask what we needed. It showed customer service isn’t a high priority here. Lastly, this place is way over priced for a diner a large OJ is really a small coffee is 2.00 bucks one breakfast was 17.00. If customer service would have been in place I would return but I’m not coming back.
