Lisa Frank

If you were a child of the 80’s early 90’s than the name Lisa Frank was on every girls lips. Her stuff is still in existence, however, mostly at dollar stores at this point. I consider her line to be art. It’s a kind of art that hasn’t been emulated and although it clearly screams 80’s in themes of teddy bears and unicorns, it still holds up in one way or another. I used to buy a bunch of Lisa Frank stuff and I still do for my sister from time to time for her B-​day and Christmas, however, in the past 5 years my Lisa Frank purchase dollars have gone down the tubes. Lisa Frank and the company started to get a bad reputation for mistreating and micromanaging employees, and paying them unfair wages. Most notably there was an expose in Jezebel about this with many coming out the closet to confirm this. The sad thing is that I am in love with the art but I can’t handle buying something knowing that employees are treated badly. Of course no work place is 100% happy but when stories like these come out it makes you think twice.

Save yourself some money and do your kids a favor and don’t buy any of this junk. Buy your kids some crayons and paper and let them be creative. The art work by this company is amateurish and way over priced considering the product is made by slave labor in China.,
