This place may have been good or bad, but I haven’t been in years. However, it just closed.

Went here late on a Saturday night, it was pretty empty. We were seated immediately and Angelee, our server, greeted us quickly. We ordered drinks and looked over the menu. I got the shore grill and my SO got the crab cakes. Both were good, mine was better. ;) The sauce served with the mahi was exceptional. Drinks were good too. Service was great.

I have never eaten here however I have something else that is more meaning full. An employee saw that I drove up with a flat tire. He had 30 min before his shift and he decided to help me and change my tire. Although I had help on the way he still wanted to make sure that had my tire changed and I was on my way. I am not to sure if he made it to his shit or not. I did not even get his name. He is my heart of the day. Thank you for this employee at Joe’s Crab Shack

We hadn’t been here in years. The food was just as incredible as we remembered. The husband had the bucket of king crab. It was $ 30 but it was about a 1 ¼ pounds. It also came with coleslaw, French fries & hush puppies. If you compare against local prices of King crab you would see it is very comparable. I had the coconut shrimp with coleslaw, French fries & hush puppies. The portions are generous. The servers dance to music together if you ask. The atmosphere is rustic & fun. Our server was great. She was new & the manager was with her to help her answer questions. She did great. We will go back again.

Great food. Great service. Polite staff — they were running behind when we went, but everyone was still polite and amiable. Good job, Joe’s Crab Shack.

Okay guys, this is GOODSEAFOOD for the price. I love me some seafood and always try to hit up a nice local seafood restaurant while I’m on one of the coasts – but alas, when this Arizona girl needs her cheap seafood fix, the choices are pretty limited. Joe’s Crab Shack’s food fills that gap. Is it expensive? Sure – but guys, it’s seafood… in the desert! And they stand up to the most important test – the food was prepared well and tasted surprisingly good. My mahi tacos were excellent, as was the grilled mahi dish. The only dish that was a bit of a disappointment were the crab cakes – a little too much breading, but still pretty good. I saw the other reviews and was somewhat concerned, but had a great time. Our waiter was busy but kind and attentive(I don’t go to restaurants to chat with the waiters anyway). As far as the ambience, the only problem we had was that the music seemed a little too loud. All in all, a fun, casual place to fill your seafood craving when you’re willing to let your food snob take a break and enjoy a fun, relaxed casual Friday night over SEAFOOD.

Excellent food. Great menu choices made it hard to decide. Guess we will have to go back to try more. I had fried shrimp and coconut shrimp — both were super good. Fries and hush puppies were great too. Service was somewhat lacking but the atmosphere was fun.

If the meals were cheap I would have given them a boring but AOK review. But when you are spending $ 30+ and the meals aren’t good that’s minus a star. The place was empty during the day. The waitress was good. The house salad was literally lettuce poured out of a bag. The salad dressing was brought in two of those tiny paper do it yourself catsup cups. I ordered the king crab and there was sufficient crab but not very flavorful — like it had been over boiled. The corn was decent. The potatoes were bland. Not the way a $ 30+ meal should taste. Red Lobster isn’t great either but they are beating Joe’s.

Yesterday stopped by joes Crab Shack and ordered a dozen oysters, after the first one I know they were bad and not fresh. I returned them and got my money refunded. Boy did I pay for it last night .Got sicker then a dog .I won’t suggest having oysters there. .

For the first time in a long while, I went to Joe’s Crab Shack after a class at St Joseph’s hospital which is in the same city block. I believe this is the third time I’ve eaten here and i’m torn. Last night my husband ordered one of the many hot pots and enjoyed the meal, which he picked a traditional boil in OLDBAY seasoning with garlic. I ordered bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp and my food was excellent. They have daily specials which are bannered all over the building, which aren’t anywhere to be known. On our table it said TUESDAY $ 2 apps and drinks, but what those consisted of was not printed anywhere. I asked the waitress and she told me the ones she could recall and then found a paper with the list after I ordered. The place was nearly empty and it took a while to be seated and a even longer while to have someone to commit to being our server. I think there were 2 waiters and 10 tables with customers, and after getting our drinks my husband said«lets just leave» since we knew what we planned to order but the waitress wouldn’t take our order, interupting with a …” I’ll be right back.“ Once the food came, our sad faces turned to happy faces. Overall the place was vibrant and clean. A table near by was a happy party of 5 ladies, which was having a blast. However my view of the booths showed two unhappy parties with what I recognized had the impatient look of slow service. It’s hard to want to return someplace where you don’t feel welcome.

Been there twice, both times it was so bad that the English language doesn’t have words to adequately describe how awful it is. This place is in a great location but it’s always empty because the word is out around Tucson, STAYAWAYFROMJOE’S CRABSHACK.

I wish they had coasters, that and it’s a bit pricey if your here by yourself. I like a full meal and at least 1 appetizer. It gets expensive eating dinner every night while you got a baby next door at hospital. Either way I give it a 3.5÷5 cut the price and it’ll b a 4+

I have always loved crabs and lobsters and Joe’s Crab Shack didn’t disappoint. I was in nirvana the whole time I was eating the Arctic Bay Steampot. I didn’t hesitate to dig in and get my fingers dirty. Service was very good too.

The quality of the food is just OK. If you bill yourself as a seafood place and only have farmed salmon then how good can you actually be? The real problem with this place, however, is the terrible service.

Disclaimer: I’m typically not big into reviewing chains and I’m not a fan of seafood. I’m sure they do a decent job with the seafood, as that is what they are known for. However, you will have to put up with disco lights and signing and dancing waitstaff prancing around to routines while dining. It’s just not my thang… really who likes that? Definitely, not a place for a baby, though with that said mine did just fine– but she is a prodigy. This is not the place for a sirloin. BARF. Complete disregard for temperature. It came out dry and gray. I didn’t even take it home for my boys– aka my dogs. They do however serve up some mighty fine and elusive hush puppies. Actually, I’ve been considering stopping in just for a carry out order of those bad boys.

Not worth the price you pay. We spent over $ 100 and had pretty bad food. The lobster was so over cooked that it was like eating a dog toy. We sent the first one back only to get a new one that was equally chewy. We didn’t send this one back since we figured the kitchen would just send another grossly overcooked lobster out to us again. I had to send King crab legs back because they were overcooked to the point of being nothing but mush. The legs were so soft that you couldn’t crack them and once you did the meat was inedible. The replacements weren’t much better… We sat at the bar to eat and the bartender was attentive and apologetic about the quality of the food. She even mentioned that for how much we paid we should be getting exactly what we want. no joke. For how much we spent we should have had an excellent meal– 50 $ a head is crazy for this poor of quality. I will not come back here again or recommend this place to friends.

Joe’s is not cheap. Every time we dine there we spend around at least $ 30 per person plus tips. So if you are spending that amount on food, you better get what Joe’s is known for: crab feast or steam pot. All the other food we ordered on the menu is a so-so in most cases From experience, if you order the snow crab feast, you will get a lot of crab; for the king crab«feast,» you will get two legs. We like the lemon spice flavor. Service, on the other hand, is completely chaotic and mindless. The server we had during our last visit forgot our order, mixed table orders, brought the wrong check, etc. The problem is, it wasn’t an isolated incident. During our meal, we constantly heard other customers pointed out mistakes in the check or order. We still gave a generous tip despite the mess-ups. But we would have pauses to come here again.
