I HIGHLYSUGGESTNOT to go to feast restaurant. Here is my experience. Yesterday i walked in and just wanted to sit for a spell and take a break from the extreme heat(and i ride the bus) and get some water and find out what feast restaurant was about and was considering trying them. Well as soon as i walked in the manger gave me the second or third class citizen treatment and quickly started to treat me like a criminal and integrated me. Look heres the picture. Ii am just coming in front extreme heat, wind and extremely bad attitudes from everyone an then. I am in extreme pain from constantly no sleep, no food and constantly walking every freaken were and being on displayed. Now this is a new restaurant þo me and i thought i would be treated a hold lot better then i was and its a public restaurant. I guess they don’t like neew customers or something i really don’t know. Then when i tried to put in a complaint another person who claims they were a manager then said he wasn’t a manager when the manager walked up. Now he just started insulting me, being prejudice against me and discriminating against me and being biases. I tryiec to get a word in and answer some of his questions but he just kept interrupting me and claim she(the manager) didn’t do nothing to me and he said he thinks i just came into to try and complain. He also said she is a good manager a wouldn’t do that. He wouldn’t even say fully what the complaint was about even and told me if i could go some place else there are other restaurants around there and i should go to one of them. Now that is going too far. First of all he wasn’t even there when that manager and I was talking second i am well aware there is other restaurants he doesn’t need me to tell me what to freaken do and where to go. When i asked for someone else he claims it was just the two of them which i believe wasn’t true. I saw others there. He jut kept running his mouth, she and he was ganging up on me putting words in my mouth. Be continue to lie, insult, falsely accuse me and on and on. Neither would answer my questions but its interesting they demanded me to answer their questions. And he the had the nerve to ask me am i going to buy something there etc. Ya i wanted to be treated in that manner, like a 2nd class citizen, like a piece of crap and their door mat and be integrated, falsely accused, be discriminate against, prejudiced against, harassed etc and still going to eat there. Ya right. I told him well i was going to get something but not now. Then he said there is nothing that we can do to satisfy you and since your aren’t going to eat or drink anything then this conversational is over and you can leave. They both walked me out the dam door. I was going tl let it go at first but why should i ?? NOONEHAS A RIGHTANYWHEREHEREINTUCSONTOTREATMEINTHATMANNER. UTTHATISHOWTUCSONISTOOME!!! And how well others are treated well others like the homeless and poor or just a innocent person trying out a new dam restaurant. I am NOTIMPRESSED. If i was on my feet i would of left ashtray, dump tucson a long time ago. This typical of lots of restaurants here, people here and place’s. Please don’t go go this restaurant. Don’t think you are ammune from this type of behavior. Their price are say to high any way and not much of a selection either. Save your money, time(gas if your lucky to own a car and have a roof over your head) and effort. Their restaurant is an eye sore as well. I guess the owner likes to hirer such kind of people. This kind of service is every where out here and shouldn’t be ignored and allowed to grow. Society got your self to blame. You allow this and practice this. For shame and we poor and homeless always pays, pays. Don’t give to these corrupt charities and churches nor pay eat at place’s such as these nor buy at these just as bad service store’s. If you do you are a part of it and allowing them to get away with it. Take a good look in the mirror and i hope you can live with it, And then you jerks out there wonder why things are like this and you grip when your helping the things to be this way. Chef Doug Levy is a Tucson treasure. Way before Tucson had a decent restaurant scene, there was Doug creating some of the most innovative culinary treats out there in a small carry out on Speedway. Fast forward to now where not only does he come up with a new menu every month he for the most part locally sources everything. There are wine tastings on Saturdays, amazing brunches on Sundays and customer favorites are put on the menu throughout the summer. On the off occasion something comes to your table not to your liking(which is rare), they will make it right for you. Doug and his staff aim to please. The ambiance is fantastic, the wine shop excellent, the food stellar, and the prices are extremely reasonable.

I love this place. Beautiful bar and gorgeous dining room. Unusual and interesting cocktails. Varied menu with dishes you won’t get anywhere else. My only complaint is that the dressings on two of our salads, the balsamic and especially the fennel salad were too sweet. My husband loved the mussels. The steak salad was excellent too and the dressing on it was perfect with mild spiciness.

This place, I’m not sure where to start. The food was super. I really can’t say enough about it. Very interesting flavors delicious non boring not run of the mill food. Very creative in a good way. However as good as the food was the service was even better. From the so friendly and informative bartender to the chef that served us and answered any questions about the food and wine to the customers. We sat at the bar and it was a very friendly atmosphere. Love this place and will def be back.

I’m rating the food with 5 stars. If I were factoring in service, ambience, and cleanliness, then they would get even more stars. I cook and experiment a lot in the kitchen and have concocted many fantastical(good and bad) dishes and blends. Deep admiration of the genius and creativity infused in the food here! When I dine out, I appreciate eating either food that I don’t /can’t really cook myself, OR food that is better than what I can make at home. The Feast is 1 of my 2 places for gourmet, for eclectic, for celebration, for indulging. The yellowtail crudo had top grade fish, the fish actually had a hint of flavor — not tasteless, yet not«fishy». I preferred the version with tangerine and jalapeño, simply because I enjoy very spicy food and garnishes. Regarding the version with fennel, I wouldn’t have minded a much stronger tasting fennel, but most people don’t like that. My salmon entrée was not a regular menu feature. Whoever cooked the spinach achieved that perfect balance between, not raw-ish, not withered, and it was not oily. I have to call attention specifically to 3 qualities about this dish: 1. The food was hot. I could see a little steam rising. One running disappointment I’ve had with restaurants here in AZ is hot meals being served at a warm temperature and then cooling quickly. 2. I didn’t feel the need to add salt like I usually do at other restaurants. 3. Each feature of the dish retained its own flavor. Although there was a tomato inclusive sauce, it didn’t take over the meal. For dessert, I tried another appetizer, the burrata cheese in a minted English pea sauce with tempura lemon, grilled bread, and butternut jam. In all honesty, I think the presentation is almost ugly due to the color of the pea sauce, but I don’t mind it and prefer how it is to having a food coloring added to make it «pretty’. I applaud the sauce. The butternut jam tasted good. The only reason I wouldn’t order this dish again is because I love mussels and the yellowtail crudo. Something else noteworthy about this restaurant, I sat at the bar and saw that the bottles and glass and stemware were spot free, fingerprint free, and grime /sticky free.

Don’t be turned away by the eclectic menu at Feast — the food is excellent! Started dinner by sharing an interesting burrata in English peas and mixed greens salad. Pork tenderloin and poached lobster/scallops were our chosen entrées– excellent flavor and perfectly seasoned! Finished with chocolate mousse and a strawberry shortcake. A bit pricey(no alcohol) but food was excellent. Service could’ve been a tad«warmer» but still an enjoyable meal.

Wow. I catch fish and spear fish, so I know how to prepare great seafood. Hear this strongly, the snapper is fresh, the skin has just right amount of crunch. And the apricot lobster sauce is amazing. If you happen to get Jamie as your server, it is pure gold. Don’t miss the opportunity to eat here while in Tucson. I am still holding out for the sturgeon, it is a wonderful eating fish. Jazz in the background too!

Tonight I have to give one of my rare 5 star ratings. Our experience tonight was fantastic. Stumbled upon this place and didn’t know what to expect. Found a very good vibe when we entered. Contemporary, vibrant, but still relaxed. The staff seemed to know everyone but they were still very friendly to those they did not know. Farm to table focus with a menu that regularly changes. My wife had a «Mushroom Trio: assortment of wild mushrooms, sautéed, tempura fried, and a ragout with leeks and mascarpone. Served with porcini-infused white polenta, a 63farm egg and fresh arugula.» Loved it. I had Confit of Duck leg and thigh, with ginger-beet ravioli and a sauté of kale, shiitake mushrooms, ginger, shallots and Cheese. Excellent! Have been looking long and hard for someone who can properly cook duck and these guys did it tonight. Must come back to try the many other things on the menu that look very intriguing.

Have to give 5. I have been coming here for years. Love the service. Love the food! Today had the Grilled and Chilled scallop salad. Mizuna greens. Avocado. Etc. light and fresh. The scallops were more medium rare. However the total flavor together was«nice». Simply enjoyable. I was wiping the plate down with every morsel. This place is always clean. Nice modern look. Usually enough parking.

It was another great meal! Made my annual trip to Feast along with a group who came in for the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show, and every year make several reservations while in town during the event. It’s a highlight for this Gem & Mineral group. I’m lucky because I live here, I can Feast anytime! Before ordering and while partaking from the amazing cocktail selection, Doug came by to greet us and explain many of the dishes on the menu. He was gracious and entertaining, has a great sense of humor, and took his time listening to everyone, answering questions, and making suggestions for those in the party with dietary restrictions. Everybody enjoyed their meals immensely, the appetizers, the entrees, and desserts. I had the popcorn lobster main dish and it was incredible. I’ve never had anything like it. And I’ve been lucky to dine at some of the nicer establishments between L.A., San Francisco and NYC(can we say, Per Se? Name dropper me!), …again, I’ve not had a dish quite like the lobster popcorn creation — awesome! So as expected every single one of us had a great experience at Feast. Plus fantastic service! Our Server was very cool, so good at her job — courteous, professional and savvy. We’ll be back… thank you!

Having somehow never eaten here, my wife and I placed reservations to celebrate late Valentine’s day on Saturday, Feb. 20. It was going to be just the two of us at 7:30 and I noted that we were celebrating Valentine’s day. We were promptly seated, and service was attentive. We were offered cocktails and placed our order. We started with the Lobster bread pudding, which was delightful. The creamy sauce served with it was delicate yet sophisticated. We also had the fried cauliflower which, too, was very lovely — it was not overly breaded and it was served with a honey yogurt dipping sauce that was also a great compliment. Then we moved on to the salad of pea shoots, watermelon radishes and sheep’s milk cheese with a light drizzle of white pepper citronette. This was a perfect palate cleanser to introduce our entrees. My wife had the trio of mushrooms, which was phenomenal. This plate, though not quite artistic in appearance, is anything but mundane in flavor. Quite filling and meaty for a vegetarian dish. A big wow. I had the«Duck Duck Goose» which was 2⁄3 wonderful… the duck breast over Brussel sprouts and white beans was an 8 of 10. The duck liver with candied kumquats was a perfect 10 of 10. The goose, with spätzle and kale was just ok, maybe a 5 out of 10 — it was just lacking in flavor, and didn’t stand up to the divinity of the rest of the dish(though I think the dish is a great concept.) The service was certainly prompt and courteous, and we never waited for any course. Our silverware and plates were constantly removed and refreshed which was appreciated. We did not feel the service was necessarily warm or fuzzy, which would have been nice, but it was technically a bull’s eye. The dessert, the stroopwaffle, was excellent too — must try. The restrooms are clean, and really quite cool how they are labeled«Anyone» and«Everyone». Along with iced tea and 2 cocktails, pre tip total was $ 112, which I think is reasonable considering the ambience was that of an art gallery, and the cleanliness is apparent. The highlight of the night was the owner/chef Doug Levy taking the time to touch each table. This is such a nice touch that, een though I would normally rate this overall experience a 4 ½ out of 5, I feel this deserves a 5. Major kudos to you Doug.

This is one of the best restaurants in Tucson food-wise. Their menu is unique and also seasonally modified so we always get to try something new when we’re there. There are better places downtown or at encantada atmosphere-wise if you’re looking for something chic/swanky, but we come here for the delicious food. It’s a clean spacious place that generally has a older crowd Oh, and some of my favorite cocktails in Tucson are made here as well. Beware, they are strong! I was very tipsy after the meal even after everything I ate below… Last time we were here, from the appetizer menu we got the Bone Marrow(every now and then this ex-vegetarian craves bone marrow which is hard to find in this town!), Roasted Cauliflower, and Manchego-Lamb Stuffed Meatballs. All of them were very tasty and perfect. For our salad we had the Crispy Duck Salad which was very fresh. For entrees, we had the Branzino(fish) and the Maine Lobster which were perfectly cooked with well-seasoned sides, and just plain amazing.

After a terrible meal at Feast a few years ago, we have stayed away until coaxed by some friends to join them for a dinner there. While the experience was much better than our first, the food was very uneven. The kitchen tries to be innovative, for which I appreciate. However some of the combinations don’t work well and some of the execution is poor. The best dish we had was a pappardelle with short ribs ragu. The short ribs were exquisite, savory and just slightly sweet with a cherry infusion if I recall. The pasta, we are told, is home made. But the texture was off; it was doughy and chewy. Another entrée featured a savory cake with herbs. It sat in a delicious sauce, but the cake was dry and not very interesting. And there wasn’t enough of the sauce to moisten the cake. Ours and several other guest plates went back to the kitchen with the cake largely untouched. Dessert featured a chocolate ice cream with smoked raisins. This was wonderful. But it was paired with a bruleed slice of St. Andre. A very clever idea. But the St. Andre was not a great choice to employ this innovation. It is a rich(triple cream) but pungent cheese that just did not work well with the ice cream. Again, most people ate the ice cream but returned the cheese. My impression of Feast has improved, but from a very dismal opinion. There is some smart and innovative cooking taking place here. And I would not be against a follow up visit. But it’s not a restaurant I would readily recommend to friends without caveats.

Meh… it was fine. The menu changes monthly, so really, my thoughts my only apply to the Dec 2015 dinner menu. Good effort for creativity, but failed to wow in flavor. The service was also a little lacking. At a minimum, my water glass should always be filled and I should not have to awkwardly hanging around for the check. Do you agree or am I a snob? What I tried: Fried cauliflower with curry dip– Really fun, and great to share. But it is hard to mess up a fried thing dipped in flavored mayonnaise. Both of those things will always win :) Roasted root vegetable salad– various roasted root vegetables over spring greens. About what you would expect. Vinaigrette was pleasant, just not enough of it. Vegetarian Financier– two small financier cakes topped with a flavorless, but creamy topping on a bed of quinoa and kale. Creative but flat and bland in flavor. Very under whelming. Feast Grilled Cheese– a classed up grilled cheese. Really great. I believe this thing is always on the menu. It’s great to be a dynamic restaurant that has a moving menu, but it makes me think there is more value in a menu that is tried and true.

This is probably a somewhat generous rating. My boyfriend and I came here while visiting Tucson because it was listed in multiple«top 10» lists of restaurants in the area. I’m sad that our experience was not in line with the majority. We were greeted quickly by the hostess when we arrived, but she didn’t exactly seem friendly or welcoming. Despite having reservations, we were seated practically next to the entrance. I got the salt cod appetizer, which was good, but didn’t come with enough bread or crackers to eat the rather generous amount of fish. I would have eaten more of it had that not entailed literally eating forkfuls. My boyfriend was not wild about his«duck, duck, goose,» though I understand it’s one of their more popular dishes, and my lamb didn’t taste of the cardamom it was supposedly crusted with, though it was cooked nicely otherwise. We shared the rice pudding dessert. The rice was a bit under cooked and I’m not totally convinced the flavor of the rice and espresso quite worked together. Our server was perfectly nice, and our busser(who also refilled my iced tea, etc.) was very friendly and attentive. I only wish the food had lived up to the reviews. I also agree with reviewers who noted that this restaurant tends to draw a somewhat older crowd. My boyfriend and I are in our 30s and we felt a bit out of place here. Additionally, though the attire is designated«casual,» that really means something more along the lines of «country club casual» than jeans and a tshirt.

I was in Tucson for one day on business, and being the designated foodie, I took my group here. I had pretty high expectations based on internet researching, and I was not disappointed. The location on a slightly run-down strip-mall-style thoroughfare was underwhelming, but that was left behind upon entering. I have a habit of trying the weirdest things I can find, so the skate wing on the menu called me. I imagine it’s somewhat challenging to prepare well, but it was an outstanding texture and preparation. Service was attentive. Being from Colorado, I’ve come to expect beer to get equal billing as wine as a fine food pairing, and while Feast focuses more on the wine — including having a little wine shop near the entrance — they have many outstanding beer choices that match their food.

I love the ingenuity of the chef. His creations are amazing! So delicious and fresh. I was very impressed with the array of choices. They all seemed as carefully prepared as what I got. It was the chicken, basically. It came with small pieces of something. They weren’t significant enough to remember. But the chicken thigh was delicious! The glaze was on point. My favorite was the beet salad. I could have eaten a pound of it!!! I was disappointed with my waitress. Only because when I asked what wine she recommended she chose one of the most expensive. I doubt she’d had any. But it was very good! One warning; it is a very«stuffy» place. Not many under 50. Much older crowd. Definitely dress up or you’ll feel out of place.

I absolutely love the fact the chef is out there on the floor… He’s answering questions, running food… He was great, someone who clearly takes great pride in his product and wants to make sure everyone is happy… Went in a group of 30 somethings and kids, omg, 3 kids… The server clearly didn’t want to deal with us… It’s very frustrating. I’ve grown up in the service industry, I like to think I try my hardest not to be a difficult guest, even if service is that bad… I’ve always had a baby face… So ppls first expectations are I won’t tip well and then give awful service… Granted, I’m assuming that was the issue, maybe she just wasn’t a great server… But the vibe seemed pretty clear she didn’t want to deal with us. And in my professional opinion, I do not think we were difficult at all… And they have an automatic 20% gratuity for large parties and split checks, so maybe she just knew she didn’t have to give us good service, idk. But 20% wasn’t deserved… I am picky. I did not want to eat here, nothing really appealed to me on the October menu, but the reviews were good on Unilocal and from other friends, decided to just try new things. Thankfully! They had a filet on special with a pepper sauce that was amazing. Everyone else enjoyed their meals as well. Responding to other reviews on prices… I think the prices were extremely reasonable! Drinks were not $ 15+, I believe all entrees were under $ 30, including my filet! If you expect Applebee’s prices, you should go to Applebee’s, you’re paying for quality food for a very reasonable price! Good place, I’d recommend… Probably will check the menu regularly and look for something more«amazing» for my tastes to come back, but I will be looking…

We’re not from Tucson and unfortunately we didn’t realize that Feast changes their menu monthly or we would’ve definitely stopped in for dinner! The main reason for why we didn’t was because it is a smaller menu — makes sense now. Instead, we had seen some amazing photos of bread pudding so we thought we’d get that after dining elsewhere. The host was very gracious in letting us know upon our arrival that they did not have bread pudding at this time but handed us a their current dessert menu to browse. It was late, almost close to closing time so we thought we’d just get the Dark Chocolate Truffle Cookies to go. They asked us a couple of times if we were sure and offered to set up a table for us, but we declined. I’ll say that the cookies were absolutely delicious & if they’re anything like the rest of the food, we would’ve really enjoyed our meals! I’m going to keep this on my list so we can try it out in the future when we return!

Finally, a restaurant who loves making food as much as I love eating it! After dining at several *meh* restaurants in Tucson, who went in for the hype more than the food(ie. Baconized everything, cocktails steeped in things that don’t belong in alcohol, like bacon, garlic and wet dish rags), we settled on Feast for our date night and made the reservations through Open Table online. We were seated right away in the front bar-ish area next to the entrance. The front area only had two-seater tables, a long communal raised bar table, and then the bar, with kitchen behind. The adjoining large room held many more and larger tables. What set our dining experience here at Feast so different from other places was that the timing was *right on*, despite the restaurant being fairly busy that weekend evening. Our server gave us the perfect amount of time to peruse the drink menu and took our appetizer and main orders at just the right time(before the alcohol reared its ugly head in the form of spontaneous Jimmy Buffet sing-a-longs, due to the lack of any food in our stomachs and brains in our heads). The appetizers also arrived very promptly — we had the beet salad and gnocchi. The gnocchi were perfect little things, seasoned with bacon and cheese. As an appetizer there was enough gnocchi for two people to share. The beet salad came on a long rectangular plate, the petite mounds of pureed beets interspersed with yogurt. What I always found most annoying about beet salad — the flavor of the beets — were complemented nicely by the plain-tasting yogurt. The yogurt was like a little amuse bouche between beet-takes and were laid out on the plate in this way. Our one main — grilled venison with licorice prunes and a bunch of root vegetables — were lovingly divided on two plates. It was sad to devour them. My man had angst about ordering venison — as I did the beet salad — as he’d always found the venison to be overcooked and tasteless, or too venison-y. Not so here. Our venison here was medium rare and the licorice prune was the perfect accompaniment. The cocktail menu was thankfully not a marriage of alcohol and things you’d find in your salad or steak tartare. I had a Lady’s Margarita, which was freshly made and very good. The wine list is pretty extensive with a good selection of all types for the single glass. We even found a new favorite white wine to add to our roster. During the meal, the Manager/Owner was making the rounds of the table and checking up on the guests. Water was refilled constantly and our server checked in on us at regular intervals. So wonderful was our experience and calorie intake at Feast that the only thing that irks me is the presence of «onglet» in the menu and some other similar terms which are foreign to us and not properly explained in the menu. As we — and all the other diners around us found out after referring to our smartphones — «onglet» is French for good ‘ol HANGERSTEAK. Having taken French for several years I knew that«ongle» is French for fingernail(American fingernail), and the presence of «onglet» did nothing to make this dish appealing for me and seemed a little on the shi shi poo poo side. Also, don’t be put off by the sign to the restaurant, which seems graphically more on the side of «Fiesta! Fiesta! Margaritas in fishbowls» than«Feast». If you eat there, you’ll see that that sign doesn’t give the restaurant justice.
