Amazing food and great service. There are a lot of options to choose from and all seemed to have a Tuscon ingredient.

This place has a line out the door because of their delicious food and colorful menu. I love how you can mix and match and replace meat with veggies or eggs with tofu. They’re a crowd pleaser! But on a more negative note, their utensils and cups could do with a better wash or replacement.

Yummy food without a doubt, this place really is a little hole in the wall restaurant that is worth giving a try. My only complaint would be my waiter, pretty rude. On the menu it says that they encourage you to make your own specialty pancake. I chose to come here for my birthday and get a fantastic pancake of my own creation. When I tried to explain what I wanted the waiter just cut me off and simplified what I was asking for, so. I didn’t get my magnificent creation. He also forgot to bring me my hashbrowns until I was already done with my pancake and brought me luke warm harshbrowns. Also I got charged a whole extra dollar on what I want to say was two sliced strawberries that they put on top. I may come back, I may not.

now i know where this always a line for this place! it’s a little small, so seating is a bit cramped. and the rooms get really loud so it’s hard to have a quite conversation. but don’t let that stop you. The menu is INSANE! there are so many amazing choices that it was really hard to pick something to check out. I want to go back to try about 7 other things that all looked amazing. And get a flavored mimosa — yummy!

My wife and I were just recently moved to Tucson wanted to try out some of the local breakfast spots. Baja Café had some of the best reviews and we decided to give it a try. The building isn’t too big and I can see it getting pretty hectic on a busy day. Luckily there was not a long wait and we were seated pretty quickly. Our server was very friendly and went over the specials of the day and options on the kid’s menu. We ended up ordering the chilaquiles with egg whites, fish tacos, a children’s chocolate pancake, and a snickerdoodle pancake. The food came out in about 15 – 20 minutes and I can say that it was really good, especially the snickerdoodle pancake. Everything came out to about $ 20, which is a pretty good price for all of the food that we got. Also, I love the fact that since it was our first time, they gave us the snickerdoodle pancake for FREE. We’ll most definitely come back here again and try out their other options.

We went and ate here for the first time a month or so ago for Admin Assistants day. The manager asked if we had ever been there and when we said no he brought us a Snickerdoodle pancake to start off with. It was amazing! We all got different dishes and we were all impressed. The poached eggs on my Benedict were cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back!

I’m in town visiting and the bf asks where I want to eat. First response is «I don’t care, whatever you want is fine.» But then I’m compelled to query my life coach, Unilocal. And as per usual, Unilocalers steered me in the right direction. First off this place is a hole in the wall locally owned joint. The perfect breakfast joint. It’s small, noisy, and totally packed but that’s what adds to the appeal. I’m on a very strict diet right now, so I figured I’d start with the Yosemite Bloody Mary. The jalapeño bacon hanging off the rim was so tasty, I could have eaten a plate of it. I was feeling generous and gave the bf a bite. The smile on his face said it all. I ordered the«Gordo» and he ordered the chiliaques.(I made an assumption that anything with the name Gordo should be fine on my diet) My food was incredibly tasty. The areapa was delicious and the pork and brisket were to die for. I can confidently say«life changing.» Do yourself a favor and check this place out. You can thank me later!

Probably one of the best breakfasts places in town I would definitely go again! Great environment, had some people in front of us and we only waited 5 min. The snicker doodle pancakes are great and you get a complimentary one of its your first time there. If you haven’t tried this place yet get on your bike and start peddling because you have to go!

Trying to avoid the typical chains for breakfast on a recent staycation, I referred to Unilocal for suggestions. This place looked cool. The reviews and pictures brought us here. First impression was that this was the kind of divey breakfast joint in a kind of dingy strip center that must be good. The line out the door was another good sign. Our table was cozy and had a nice view to the outside. Our server was friendly and efficient. They have a decent menu, including a special menu for children. Prices were pretty reasonable. Our meals were all pretty good. Overall, we enjoyed this place and we’d recommend to others passing through this area.

Honestly the food here is pretty good but the wait was ridiculous. I took my mother here for Mother’s Day and we arrived around noon-ish. When we asked how long the wait was they said it would be 45 minutes. After waiting for an hour and a half we are finally seated. Thinking that this was breakfast food we didn’t think that it was going to take over an hour to cook our meal but that’s exactly what happened. Not only did our meal take nearly an hour to come out they also informed us after we had ordered that the French toast was out for the day. Now I don’t know about you, but I know that French toast doesn’t have a secret ingredient. It´s bread, eggs, maybe some cinnamon, and some vanilla extract. How do you run out of French toast?? There are so many other restaurants in Tucson that I would have gone to. I don’t know if I’ll be back here again

Baja never disappoints. I’m a huge benedict fan and they have a billion to choose from — I’ve never had one I wasn’t impressed with! I also love the chilaquiles for an amazing meatless meal. The snickerdoodle and cinnamon roll pancakes are also not to be missed. Service is always super friendly, though it can be a bit slow on weekends. Last weekend our server forgot to bring out our pancake during our meal and sent us home with one to go — for free! We make it a point to bring out of towners here and they always want to come back on their next visit! Definitely our brunch place of choice in Tucson.

I popped in again one weekday morning after a craving for Eggs Benedict struck. Even on a weekday the place is bustling with business and I had to wait a few minutes, but their food is definitely worth the wait. Like my previous experience the wait staff was quick, efficient, and welcoming. I ordered their traditional Eggs Benedict, this time with extra hashbrowns because I am so in love with them. The dish couldn’t have been more perfect. Lightly crunchy muffin that was still soft on the inside without getting soggy under the moisture of the egg yolks and Hollandaise sauce. The ham slices were think and large, larger than the muffins, and beautifully lean. The eggs were wonderful, soft with firm whites and gooey yolks, and the Hollandaise sauce was deliciously tangy and creamy. After the fact I’m thinking it might have been a tad dangerous how quickly I inhaled my meal, but it was so good. My favorite breakfast meal is Eggs Benedict and Baja Café’s is the first in town that makes me drool to think about.

We’ve been to Baja Café twice now looking for a new brunch place, and this is our new favorite spot in Tucson! Our first visit was on a Sunday around 11am, and the wait was roughly 30 minutes for a table for two. This seemed to be pretty standard as everyone else was content to wait. I’m a big breakfast burrito fan, so we each went with a construction burrito where you pick your three favorite add ons. At around $ 6, this burrito was not only delicious but also a great deal. It was huge, came with salsa on top, and had a tasty filling with hash browns inside. I could barely finish the whole thing by myself, and it was overall fantastic. On our second visit, we came on a weekday for lunch. This time, there was no wait and booths available. Between the three of us, we had the dust devil scramble off the breakfast menu and split the tomatillo pork pupusas. The pupusas were on the spicy end for me, but still delicious with a good combination of ingredients and flavors. All in all, we can’t wait to keep coming back and trying out different menu items!

Saw some lushes came in and left a negative review, not understanding that Baja Café is one of the absolute best breakfast/brunch spots in Tucson(if not the state) and with that reputation comes some very busy staff. I believe we had the same server(Tyler), and he along with Zeke are some of the most customer service oriented, patient, eager to please people that I’ve encountered. We’ve had a negative experience here before and we gave them a chance to fix it… my wife and I have been coming back regularly ever since. While I’m at it: have a snicker doodle pancake and the mango margarita. Their benedicts are awesome too, just beware of you have an allergy to chilies.

Best breakfast I’ve had, literally anywhere in the world. I was visiting from LA for a wedding and stumbled upon this place when we got in to town. The food is phenomenal. Best rendition of eggs Benedict. So creative. They have about 10 different versions that spin off the classic. We had the pork tomatillo pupusa Benedict and the croissant sandwich. So good we woke up extra early and came back the next day before our flight. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The owner is a doll. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this place. I wish I could pick it up and bring it back home with me! Ask for Michael!

My third visit and the second time I have brought first time guests. The tacos were delicious. I would give a four star rating but there were two issues with my meal: 1.) My beans were cold. My last visit I had the same experience and so sent them back. The beans came back a little warmer. I didn’t send them back today because I just knew they would microwave them. I didn’t eat my beans. 2. Coffee was old. I did tell the server and he made a fresh pot. I just feel since it is a breakfast & lunch restaurant, the coffee should always be fresh. I will be back because I love local restaurants and my main dish has always been good. Next time I’m going for breakfast.

Baja Café has been around for about two years now and are the place to GO for breakfast/brunch. This restaurant takes your average breakfast food, which so many find the same no matter where you go, and puts an original spin on it. Offerings include decadent pancakes, stuffed French toast, unique Benedictus galore, even their corned beef is unique. I ordered the Tomatilla Pork Pupusa, needless to say I will never look at Benedicts the same way. Enjoy from top to bottom a cheesy sauce with a kick, as your fork moves down you hit sautéed spinach with thick perfectly cooked jalapeño bacon down, further still is the pulled pork that is succulent while not overly greasy or rich, ending at an herby base of tamale cakes. While it may sound overly spicy this is not, it is perfectly balanced! The hubby ordered the corned beef that was not your average thinly and finely diced corned beef. Rather long strips of perfectly seasoned shredded corned beef that’s been cooked for hours on end making it extremely succulent. We also enjoyed the Peach Mimosa that was surprisingly STRONG and the peach/mango margarita. Both were exceptional. I think our waiter was also one of the owners, in any case all of the staff are lovely and very aware of their menu/offerings while being perfect hosts.

It is rare for a ‘normal’ breakfast place to have solid vegan options. Baja hits it out of the park for vegetarians and also has multiple options for vegan fare, all while not disappointing your meaty friends. I had the veggie Tucson Stampede — two eggs over hash browns with plenty of tasty veggies mixed in, but subbed tofu instead of eggs and then added soy chorizo. That kicked the price up quite a bit(if I recall, $ 1 for the tofu sub and $ 3 for the side of soy chorizo mixed in). It might be nice to have an already present soy chorizo and tofu scramble on the menu. That said, the flavors were great! It was filling and tasty. Looks like they have a lot of morning cocktail options as well… My server was attentive and friendly, and the service was quick(granted, it was relatively empty at the time). All in all, super solid! I’ll look forward to hitting up Baja on the way home from an east side morning hike, and I’m very much looking forward to their Campbell location in my neck of the saguaro.
