Alvernon Allergy & Asthma

First of all, it did not take forever to get my first appointment. That was a big plus. The doctor seemed knowledgeable. There was a problem with billing but that was taken care of so I changed my original rating to account for the fact that it did get corrected.

When I lived in Tucson this was my and my son’s Allergist for YEARS. Dr. Manti was my allergist since I was a child (Im in my thirties now) so it was a no brainer once my kid developed allergies and needed a Doctor. Dr. Manti treated my son and I through our first years of immunatherapy treatment. When Dr. Manti FINALLY retired, we became patients of Dr. Min who was VERY attentive to my son’s health. He often gave us samples of expensive medication and called on weekends to check in on my son’s health. Dr. Min eventually moved away so we were seen briefly by Dr. Makol before we moved to Mesa and he was AWESOME. All this happened over a series of 22 years though. This office by no means has high turnover. The offices are amazing, the staff are SUPER friendly an helpful, and I’ve ALWAYS been able to be fit in whenever I needed to be or get a refill. I cant find the same level of service in Mesa yet.

I think this place is top-​notch, so much so that I drive down from Phoenix for my appointments with Dr. Schultz. He takes the time to understand my allergy issues specifically and has put together a plan that works really well for me. He is great at writing out specific instructions for follow-​up and is always available by phone.
I would definitely recommend Alvernon Allergy and, more specifically, Dr. Schultz.

This is a pretty decent allergy clinic. The place itself used to be on Alvernon (hence the name), moved to Grant — the new facilities are very nice and new, full of light. You won’t feel depressed in this place, which is a nice change from most medical clinics!
I’ve seen Dr. Manthei once before and he really, really knows his stuff. He will get down to the nitty gritty with you, explaining why you have your allergies, how you can de-​sensitize yourself if possible, and future treatment plans.
My only real complaint is that while they do have a north Tucson location, Dr. Manthei is only there once a week, and getting an appointment with him there is all but impossible. Thus, I’m forced to drive 45 minutes into town to see him, kind of aggravating.
