You can find Mandarin Palace at 4073 Lavista Rd, Tucker, GA30084 in the Northlake Tower Festival shopping center. This is the semi-circle of buildings that seem to enclose the antenna in the middle of the lot and features other restaurants like Coco-Cabana, Maddio’s and Jason’s Deli. Parking is in the lot all around the buildings — there are some crazy turns around the antenna’s enclosure that sort of makes a roundabout(though traffic flows both clockwise and counter-clockwise so be careful). Mandarin Palace is located where the awning extends to a point — it’s easier to see at night as the red signage lies on either side of the extension. Mandarin Palace is a classic example of a typical Americanized Chinese restaurant — I affectionately call these«swag» Chinese. These are the mostly Cantonese restaurants that popped up all over the US derived from those flavors brought by early Chinese immigrants only using ingredients more common to the Americas, spiced down quite a bit and adjusted to the US palate. The interior is very typical of this type of restaurant with«low oriental style» that you’ll find very familiar. I especially like the wall-length carving which is becoming scarce as these mom-and-pop Chinese restaurants are replaced by the likes of Panda Express. The menu at Mandarin Palace is all over the place as you might come to expect from this type of restaurant — the show a bit of everything. Also, just about any combination you might think of is also available — for instance substituting the light sauce for the brown or vice-versa. That’s one of the nice things about restaurants that aren’t chains, the items on the menu(with the exception of some previously prepared items like soups and egg-rolls) are made-to-order. We stopped by because we were in the area and it had been a few years so why not? The bright red sign was like a siren’s call. We were seated in a mostly empty restaurant — it was about 8:30PM mid-week so for this area(Northlake part of Tucker) getting a bit late for dinner. While there we were the only table, however there was a constant-flow of take-out visitors and right when we were finishing up a family of 6 walked in and were seated. I think this was less due to the restaurant and more due to the area suffering a bit. Hopefully the new owners of Northlake Mall will turn it around. For drinks we went with something basic — a Tsingtao, which is a staple of most Chinese restaurants. It’s about as far from a microbrew as you can get but does offer up a bit of palate-cleansing, neutral carbonation that works well with the thick, flavorful sauces. They do offer up a chilled mug which is really how it should be drunk. I don’t remember exactly what we ordered — I think it was a Hunan Chicken and a Chicken with Vegetables extra spicy. Both had sliced chicken wok sauteed with some veggies and brown sauce. The veg was slightly different and my spicy dish had some additional chunks of dried red pepper. Neither was really very spicy and fairly neutral in flavor. The meal was preceded by hot-and-sour soup and an egg roll. Neither of these were bad, but neither were very good either — just very basic, slightly-above-mall-food Chinese In general the food at Mandarin Palace is basic and nothing that you would want to make a special trip to obtain. I do think it’s better than the newly opened Panda Express down the street and I think it’s cheaper and more customize-able which may be important to you. The owner/manager didn’t say much but seemed to appreciate our business and it was a quiet meal — no fuss, no muss. I rate it right in the middle 2.5÷5 stars but will round up to 3. The interior of this place is very beautiful it does give you that nice atmosphere. The food however was okay to me it’s was good but it felt average. I had ordered the chicken garlic dish which had lot of vegetables in it which was great but I didn’t even taste any garlic which I was looking forward to, it was more of a vegetable mixed with chicken with a side of rice. But the prices are amazing I got the dinner combo which came with a soup and egg rolls. My experience here was okay as I said before but my friends did enjoy. And they do offer many different dishes which is great for those who need more choices.

Ordered from this for the first time following a complete delivery fail by my old Chinese place, lucky key. Orange chicken actually tastes fresh and they included broccoli in the sesame chicken, which I’ve always found to be the mark of quality. Yum! This is my new delivery go to! Online ordering via the website eliminates potential phone ordering errors too.

The food is cooked perfectly and is very delicious! The shrimp are plump and fresh. The lunch prices are great and they include soup and a yummy spring roll. The ambiance is nice too. I’ll be back!

Pros: Their sweet and sour chicken was delicious as was their shrimp fried rice. They have amazing customer service and their delivery was ridiculously fast. Great prices. Cons: Not enough shrimp in the rice and not enough chicken in the sweet and sour chicken.

The tofu was flavorful especially with a dash of hot mustard. My boyfriend said the general tso chicken tastes like your standard General tso chicken. That’s a good thing. The place is totally empty at 916 pm and I don’t know why!

I honestly been going here for the past 9 years going on 10. While I don’t visit here every week like I used to, this place always hit the spot in term of food! The owners know me and always greet me with joy. The food portion are abundant and large for single meal!!! I will continue to come here as long as they are open. Ps. I love their hibachi dinner grill.

New to the area. Looking for good take out Chinese places. This is not one. I got the Beef and broccoli and it was less the spectacular. The broccoli was sour and had black spots all over the stems, which could not be good. The speed was fantastic though.

I just ordered from this place for the first time. I ordered through the Unilocal app. My order was delivered hot and yummy by a super friendly delivery guy. I’ll definitely keep this on my lazy dinner night speed dial.

Yes portions big. flavor… none. Very surprised it has 4 stars. Maybe for service, but not for food. I love Asian cuisine, but this does not even come close. I ordered chicken lo mein which tasted alot like garlic. Chicken was flavorless. General tso’s another disappointment. I love tso’s and this made me extremely sad cuz I didn’t even it. I had to throw it away. Overall I will never order from here again.

I am new to the area, and have no food in the house yet. After my sad realization that there is no Chinese food place in the area that delivers, I decided to try here for pickup. I got broccoli and chicken, which is my staple. The food was prepared quickly, was hot, and was pretty good. Definitely not the best ever, but for the price, the portion was HUGE– dinner combo big enough for two people easily. Inside the restaurant, the décor looked nice enough to come back and dine in sometime. Im glad to know theres a good Chinese place a short drive away.

Very large portions that were surprisingly a meal for one. We strolled in about 8p on a Friday night. I ordered the combo General Tso and Beef & Broccoli with a Spring Roll on the side. The fella had Genral Tso and Mongolian Beef with a Spring Roll and Beer. Yes!!! There serve beer! So while we waited for a short time the food came out. There must be some eating contest because that was a ton of food! The General Tso Chicken was very flavorful and crispy. The Beef & Broccoli was more like gravy. It was good but tasted more like soulfood. The Monoglian Beef was excellent! Great place in my neighborhood and I will be going back!

I never thought I would give a Chinese takeout place 5 stars, but this place was absolutely amazing. I was staying at a hotel across the street for a week on a business trip and wanted something quick and delicious that could be delivered. I found Mandarin Palace and placed an order for their Pork Lo Mein and an order of their steamed pork dumplings. About 45 minutes later, the food was delivered to my hotel room steaming hot. The Lo Mein came in two take out containers which was really surprising to me! Such huge portions for a really great price. The dumplings were cooked perfectly and the balance of meat and vegetables was just right! It was very close to how my mother used to make them so they were quite authentic! The Lo Mein was a little greasy but that was expected. Only thing I was a little troubled by was that the delivery guy rounded up my total by almost a dollar and there was no receipt. I’m sad I won’t be able to eat here for awhile but glad I took a chance on a Chinese restaurant in a strip mall!

I had basic entrée. Shrimp fried rice. Very Good! They were not heavy on the Soy Sauce which I appreciate and the shrimp were Large, not that small or cut up pieces of shrimp.

Swung by this place a couple times for carry-out. When trying a new Chinese place, I usually get a fried rice as my standard comparison dish. So I got a «small» pork fried rice on my first trip and a house lo mein on my next visit. The fried rice was good, and the lo mein was… OK. I didn’t find it extremely flavorful and the noodles seemed almost like they weren’t cooked enough, I’m not sure. Two big positives though — the food was ready really quickly both times, and the portions were HUGE. And both visits I’d just come from the gym, so I was hungry. I don’t know if they were out of larger containers, or if this was standard protocol, but my lo mein came in 2 separate containers(he assured me it was one order though). This was convenient… it was easy to immediately put one in the fridge when I got home as opposed to having one giant container and tell myself I won’t eat the whole thing =). Definitely get your money’s worth, I just didn’t find it to be particularly phenomenal Chinese food.

I used to order delivery from here probably once per month. I got pick up from here today after a long break and after a long day at work. First, I am doing myself a disservice by getting delivery. The interior is very nicely decorated, the atmosphere was calm and quiet, and the patrons seemed to be enjoying a great dining experience. The food is some pretty good, standard Americanized Chinese food. I had the dinner for one combo which includes two entrée selections, soup and egg roll. I had the teriyaki chicken and the Kung pao chicken. The teriyaki chicken was very good. Lots of veggies in a mildly sweet sauce. Kung pao was spicy and equally good. This was a solid choice for a Friday night DVR marathon. But next time I’ll treat myself and dine in.

Bumping up the score after having ten consistently delicious meals here. I’m now hooked on the Twice-cooked Pork made extra spicy. It travels very well, so I highly recommend it if you order delivery.
