We have been ordering from Giove’s for years, but have noticed its decline in food quality recently. Tonight, unfortunately, was no exception. My friend and I were tired after work, so we figured we’d order out for delivery for dinner. First of all, when I opened the bag to remove the pasta with meat sauce, the sauce leaked everywhere, spilling onto our carpet. It was not packed properly. Second, the pasta with meat sauce we ordered was not pasta with meat sauce but meatballs, instead. Third, they forgot to include dressing with the salad. Fourth, the bread was stale. And finally, the steak in the cheesesteak sandwich we ordered seemed old and not fresh. Overall, we are very disappointed and will not be ordering from Giove’s again. Too bad – it used to be much better!

I’ve only ever come here for the lunch special, as the pizza is mediocre and the slices are tiny. Today I was just a little past their hours for getting the special, but nowhere near dinner time, and I eat late. Nope, no special for me. I left hungry, as their prices are a rip for the teeny tiny slices when you don’t get a special. Probably not coming back either. This town needs decent pizza for a fair price, my favorite is Franco’s pizza in newtown but that’s so far away!

I love their Veggie pizza, it is full and flavorful. My son and husband also love their steal and potato pie. Food is always ready on time and service is good. Not Pepe’s but the best pizza Trumbull had to offer.

I order from them regularly for years now since they are only a mile away and one of the few places that delivers to me. They are a hit and miss. Sometimes the pizza is really good sometimes it’s not. I’ve enjoyed their salads and their garlic knots. Mozzarella sticks were mediocre, and fries were tasteless. I have to say that they are not the best pizza around but definitely not the worse or even bad enough for me to stop ordering from them. They are quick and good customer service

The only local place that ever gave me food poisoning. The pizza, which is the only thing I would order from here ever again, is mediocre.

Ordered a slice to go, the service was fine but the pizza was just not the best. It was sort of oily compared to other places, and the pizza was kind of doughy but the crust was fine. I suppose it’s good if you need a quick something to eat. Wish I could appreciate this spot since its local to me but it was just alright.

As others have mentioned it really is hit or miss. They have an off-menu pizza you can order called the Tex Mex which I love, but it too is also hit or miss — it really just depends on when you order. As others have mentioned, the chicken parm is one of the worst I’ve ever had because of how dry it is and the bread is subpar. The steak and cheese is very thinly sliced, dry beef with waaaaaaaay too much mayo and as much as I love mayo, I never thought that was possible. If you order a thin crust pizza, don’t be surprised if you find a seam along the side of the crust — as if this thing was pulled right out of shrink wrap. The place is outrageously expensive for the quality of product. They consider something as basic as grilled onions a «gourmet» topping and charge $ 3 to add it a large pizza. I give it 3 stars because they deliver my food in under 30 minutes almost every single time — granted I live about 5 minutes away. The food is also almost always hot when I get it. Mozarella sticks are tricky to get hot, but they even pull that off from time to time. I love cherry peppers on pizza, other places don’t offer that as a topping — this is a plus. All in all, it’s okay if you don’t mind spending too much money for the convenience of it all.

I went to Giove’s this evening for take-out. Normally, the grinders are decent, however, for the chicken parm, you need to ask for extra marinara sauce. I picked-up my order, the receipt said chicken parm w/extra marinara sauce, however, it was dry and terrible. If they get your order right with the extra sauce, it’s a great meal. Today, it was worthless and not taste at all. I order a few slices of pizza with it, and it was terrible. I basically threw it out. It was over cooked, greasy and oily. They simple don’t offer a good pizza, but, it’s convenient of you don’t want to travel for a better pie. This is a hit or miss place, sometimes good, other times, a waste of money and a disappointment.

If you like Dominos pizza then you should like Gioves. If you get the pizza hot and fresh, it’s edible. However, by the time the pizza gets to me, and I live less than five minutes away, the crust is like cardboard, sauce is dried out and they use typical cheese blend. Calzones are mostly mozzarella not enough ricotta and too salty. The two stars are for sandwiches, poppers etc. Their sandwiches are much much better than the pizza.

The main reason I continue to order from Gioves is the convenience. Not only can you order online, but they deliver. And there are almost always coupons in Clipper Magazine or Fairfield County Gazette for $ off your order or a free small cheese pizza if you spend $ 30 or more(it used to be $ 20 or more, but this has just changed). I wouldn’t categorize the pizza as stellar, but I do enjoy some of their signature pizzas such as BBQ Chicken, Philly Cheese Steak, Chicken Ranch, and Tex Mex. Other menu faves of mine include the Chicken Club Wrap, Chicken Giove Grinder, and the Steak and Cheese Grinder. For $ 2.69 you can get a side of meatballs. They usually give you 3. They are tiny, but pretty tasty and perfect for kids.

I broke down and had a slice there after they moved within the same strip mall. «Meh, I’ve experienced better» is more accurate; pretty much the same as any other suburban conveyor-belt-oven pizza. At least it’s improved, and the service was better, i.e., not two teenage girls talking to each other while I waited at the counter.

it looks like someone has removed my previous review of this place BUTPEOPLEMUSTKNOWTHETRUTH. This place is very bad, plain, bland food especially the pizza and wings. They do a lot of business b/c they are the only place that delivers in Trumbull. I also saw somewhere that this place claims they won a national pizza tasting contest??? I really need to see who the judges were, maybe kindergardeners? This is definetely 0 stars but it makes me put at least 1 star

Decent pizza… I guess… considering it’s one of the only takeout pizza places in town. Caesar salad is pretty good. Rumor has it there are a couple tables and chairs in there(assuming someone might want to stay and eat there) although there is no bathrooms for patrons. Seems sketch.

The first time I ate at Giove’s we ordered the Buffalo Chicken Pizza which was good. This is the ONLY reason I’m giving this place 2 stars instead of 1. We went back for something a little different. We ordered an Italian sandwich and some wings to go. Ughhh, really??? I had to add my own sauce to these itty bitty tiny wings with NO meat, just to have some flavor. As for the sandwich, Subways does a better job. Such a disappointment WOW We paid WAYYYYYYYTOO much for below average food.

So one afternoon my brother was helping me do some work around the house and I realized I had no food to offer him. He asked for something that could deliver him a sandwich or a pizza nearby, and the only place that really delivers to my place is Giove’s. I decided to give them another chance as it had been a long time since our last try and it seemed to have recently gone through some changes. I ordered up a turkey wrap for myself and a chicken parm for my bro. When it got here, I couldn’t resist the smell coming from his bag and I snuck a bite before handing it off. The wrap was better than the last time I’d had one there as well, so the next time we had unexpected guests and nothing to offer we ordered up a few different pizzas and were pleasantly surprised. The Loaded Potato Bacon pizza is a must-try, as is several other of their signature pizzas. My only complaint since we gave them a try again has been the mozzarella sticks, which I would really stay away from. Stick with the pizzas and their various sandwiches and you should be pretty satisfied.
