Truckee-Tahoe Taxi

Long story sorry.
We had made plans for round-​trip shuttle to a wedding venue by the name of Mitchell’s Meadow (amazing place btw) from Truckee. The venue is in the middle of nowhere and there is no cell reception or lodging.
Pick-​up time was supposed to be at 1am. We waited patiently. 2am rolls around, no sign of them. At this time the owner of the venue came out to see what was going on, she instructed us to hike up the hill to a cell tower. Picture a group of 9 people after a long day at a wedding and its 40 degrees outside; ya it was a challenge to even stay awake let alone find out how to get back to Truckee. Anyway, we made it to the tower and was able to receive a voicemail from them at 10pm that said the driver was sick and we didn’t have a ride. Frankly when he dropped us off at the venue in the afternoon he seemed mentally unstable.
In the end the owner of the venue drove half of us into Truckee at 3am (She is an amazing woman) and then I had to borrow someones car to drive the other half.
I still think they could have done way more to notify us than leaving a message on a cel in the middle of nowhere. The driver even remarked that there was no cell reception when he dropped us off! Call us another cab, try to reach the venue, something.
Afterwards I tried getting someone on the phone to make an official complaint but they blocked my calls and said they would only communicate by email, unreal. After I asked for a break on the cost for the ride there because I ordered round trip service they responded by saying that they would not refund me anything and to stop emailing them. The fact of the matter is we had a horrible experience and any business owners should know that sometimes you just need to make things right. This is not an attempt to blackmail anyone or extort money, this is a complaint about a horrible experience which can be verified by 9 people including the owner of Mitchell’s Meadow.
Essentially I recommend that you do NOT use this taxi service. Especially for weddings or planned late night pick ups.
