Blue Coyote Bar & Grill

Conveniently within walking distance of our rented condo. Typical bar with dozens of TVs displaying every sport imaginable. Service was friendly, but we felt rushed since Unilocal’s hours said they close at 10 pm (Wed night), but they started turning off lights at 8:50. Menu was limited but descent. Buffalo chicken quesadilla was a bit greasy. Would try again because of the location.

This place was average. Service was very good and food was okay.
Ordered Calamari Chesapeake which was very good portions and was pretty tender! Really enjoyed this appetizer with my friends. I don’t think it went well with the cocktail sauce but definitely went well with the tartar.
Ordered Chicken Parmesan Sub as my sandwich without any of the cheeses (I know I know, i’m crazy for ordered a parmasan sub and then getting rid of cheese but I’m not a big fan of cheese! D: im sorry! Im flawed!). I also added the sauted onions and mushrooms for free. Maybe it would have been better with the cheese (probably) but this sandwich didn’t have a whole lot of flavor to it and was a little difficult to eat. The soup it came with (I think vegetable soup? was just okay too). So, while I didn’t like the soup, I enjoyed the experience here and the waitress was really nice and attentive.
If I’m in the area again, I’d come back and either try it again with cheese or something completely different!

Great casual eatery just outside of the main strip in Truckee.
Decent beer selection. Lots of good burger choices. Many other meal options including sanwiches (chicken parm, pulled port, fried fish, etc…), pastas, pizzas.
Our family sampled several burgers and other sandwiches, and everything was quite good. We’ll definitely be back on another visit up to the mountains.

I’m actually really impressed how servers are good at busy hours. Definitely good place to stay and grab some food

LATE night hunger — this place came through. Made my girl happy with the IPA beer selection and I was happy with the Warriors Game playing on Flat Screens TVS all over the bar.
Food was good, bartender was nice, price was adequate.

If it is busy, try another place! As a local. it’s great if it’s not busy! So sad, when a business completely screws your WHOLE order up and the don’t care. For a small town business you would think they would give a crap… not the case. Don’t go in with a high expectation!

We dig this place for basic pub grub. Roomy, great for watching games, nice staff, solid food.

My family and I have been coming to the blue coyote bar for years. The place has a nice sports atmosphere with plenty of televisions. Seating is never a problem as the place can accommodate a large number of people both at the bar and at tables

Great service, very friendly. Right at opening Saturday morning (11:30 am) they had people waiting outside and more kept coming! Obviously a good place!
The Bleu Bacon burger was great, especially with sautéed mushrooms added. It was huge! A giant heap of onion rings too. Leftovers for dinner tonight, mmm mmm!
The other half had the New Yorker. Hamburger topped with pastrami. Why? ‘Merica, that’s why! Meat with a meat condiment. God bless the USA, lol. He ate every last bite.
The full bar is nice, local beers, standard beers, local cider (Crispin). The Bloody Mary was good and the server made sure to ask if I wanted another as I neared the bottom. Nice to not have to wait on a beverage. I appreciate that.

The good: Can’t go wrong with the Jalisco cheesesteak. It’s always been tasty. The bad: the last few times I’ve been there, anything fried was way over done. The onion rings and fish and chips in particular. Not sure what’s happening in the kitchen, but it’ll be a while before I go back.

Great experience for our first visit. Breakfast sandwich was cooked perfectly. Manager or owner was very friendly and welcoming. Lots of TVS. Very open and spacious. Wished we lived closer this would be our regular spot!

Mediocre food, lame service. It took us an hour to get our check. We had 9 people, which is never easy, but the waiter couldn’t figure out how to divide the check. He then over charge one person, and lost another’s card.
Got a salad with my burger that was some romaine lettuce, tomatoes, onions and green peppers piled on the plate. Not really tasty. Had the southwest burger which was just OK.

Awesome bartenders and staff. Food is above normal for a local bar. Could go here numerous times a week!

I’ve always had good experiences here and the one time I had a bad one I called the manager and she made it right. Great for groups.

Truckee’s solid sports bar. Friendly staff, decent amount of draft beers offered, and good food that is priced well (especially for Truckee). Nachos are HUGE and delicious, wings are tasty (they also offer boneless), salads are good as well, multiple burger options, pizza, tacos, sandwiches (which can also be made as wraps), and they have soups as well. Friendly staff /​fun atmosphere!

Solid bar & grill spot for locals and travelers. We came here on our way to Boreal before an evening of nightboarding. Prices are a little more affordable than your typical Truckee price point, and they have all the regulars that you would expect from a bar & grill. We had the Thai Chicken Pizza which was really good, and also the Southwestern Eggroll which were awesome but seemed identical to Chili’s.
We’ll definitely be back on future Truckee trips!

Porky pop is tender and juicy
Calamari is breaded a lot but its still great
Shrimp Pasta Primevera: Every square inch of this dish is delicious. Corner to corner, you get shrimp, veggies and pasta. This is hands down, the best plate of pasta I have ever had!
Overall vibe and atmosphere is awesome!

This is the sports bar in Truckee!
They have 20 TV’s so you can see your game from every seat in the place.
It’s a really chill low-​key environment with typical sports bar fare, I like the chicken sandwich, the prices for drinks are really cheap! Sweet!
The staff and manager are very helpful, I went in there to watch the Stanley Cup final game and the place was packed. The manager could see my distress (my Chicago Blackhawks were playing) and promptly found my daughter and I great seats.
I will never forget his kindness and treatment that day.

Atmosphere 4, food 3; great sports bar! I counted 20 TVs from my booth. We got the nachos appetizer — amazingly huge! The BLT, which was dry as it was served condiment free, and the quarter pound hot dog (slightly grill charred delicious. Fries were crispy. Cole slaw was well dressed, not to much mayo. Beer selection has some staples — Sierra and the like. We watched baseball and football, every seat has a good view. I’ve been coming to Truckee for 30 years, can’t believe this was my first time here.

Why am I blue?
Because the bartender was blue too, in other words she was cold to the non-​locals.
Yes, she doesn’t know us but this should be an equal playing field!
Either be blue to us and the local yokals or be pink (aka warm) to all.
Indifference was cause for a meager tip.
Now she’s really blue.
