Very good pizza. I have not been here in years and stopped by to get a few slices, delicious. Will be going back soon. The staff could be a tad bit friendlier.

Sandwiches that are reasonably priced and as big as your head. And a great selection of beer. What’s not to like? Haven’t tried the pizza yet, so I can’t speak for that. Stay away from the pre packaged mac and potato salads in the cooler. They are bad. Very bad. Can’t go wrong with any of the subs though. They are all good. 5÷20÷2016 — The salads are now good. Very good. Stopped in today and got my usual BLT and the salads were made and packaged in house. Very good stuff — Especially the tortolini. Extremely good. So I added a star because now I don’t have to go to Market32 to get my sides! :-)

Great food, excellent deli, there sandwich is the size of my arm. Best breakfast sandwich in the capital region. That being said considering its near a college and it is a popular spot, of you go there at a peak time have your order ready, they’re used to it so your food should still be ready pretty quick.

Not going to win any awards for décor but that’s not why you go to Deli and Brew. Huge fresh subs and pizza with great crust are the reasons for stopping here. Lots of fun choices on pizza include taco, Hawaiian, buffalo, chicken parm, chicken bacon ranch just to name a few plus old favorites like cheese, pepperoni, meat lovers and supreme. Never have been disappointed on lunch from Deli and Brew.

Used to be one of my favorite places to eat and now it’s disappointing. I would walk in and they knew my sandwich by heart. Now all the staff is miserable and they always make my sandwich 98% meat and 2% veggies. It was okay but I just remember it being better.

What’s happened to this place? Use to be a real treat. Now i guess they cook their own roast beef. My fault for not looking but i went by past exp. Stuff was so over cooked it’s inedible. The rolls are frozen now or something and complete cardboard. Absolutely horrible for an $ 11 sub.

Great treasure! Not only pizza and subs but homemade salads, soups, mac and cheese along with other daily specials. Staff is friendly and kind and very informative. Don’t miss local treasure

Not the most classy place to take the love of your life, but if you can get over the college location and the looks of a mini mart with a grill and seating area, you may be able to enjoy the food. I give this place 3 stars mostly because they can make the place a little nicer. What’s it is great at is being a hvcc college retreat for all the students to go hangout at, which isn’t bad at all, but brings the standards of things a lot lower. But like I said before looks aside, the food is pretty decent. I would only oder food to-go from here, but it can at least, be an option.

BIGBIGFAN. Oh and I don’t eat meat and I still freaking love this place. Talk about speed. These guys get you in and out quick. Definitely a perfect pit stop for lunch. Beware the line does get long but they don’t slow down a bit! They truly care about each one of their customers. The pizza is pretty good but their Troylet gets me every time. Without the chicken of course. It comes with roasted red peppers, fresh motz, and pesto. A side of their tuna mac salad is a must. Enjoy a brew or two. This place is the bees knees! Must Try: The Troylet(without meat if you dare :)) ANYOFTHEAMAZINGCOOKIES(in my best billy fucillo voice: they are HUGEEE) Their hot sauce! Tuna Mac Salad is grandma good!

Hands down the best place to get a sandwhich. The men who work here are sent from the heavens above. They make your sandwhich to perfection. I have always been 100 percent satisfied with my food. And while you wait you are entertained by the men because they joke around, but not in a way where it disrupts their work or effect the time you have to wait for the sandwhich. They are a good team. If these guys had a shop in the MYC, with guys like these, they would make millions for sure. Fast paced, and amazing sandwhiches. TOPNOTCHQUALITYDELI

Best sub shop this side of the Hudson. If you don’t like this place then you must be one of those non-gluten, vegan, tofu bean sprout and kale sandwich lover types. Probably don’t drink beer either… friggin’ fessacchione. I was in there the other day and said«gimmie a standard Italian mix with everything». The nice lady behind the counter with a slight sarcastic tone said…“we don’t do anything standard here…” word on that, sista… Ok… I’ll stop holding up the line. You can go to lame ass Subway and get a $ 5 foot long(chips+soda extra) or get a 5 pound foot long in this joint that will make you need to take a nap after eating it. Bottom line: Get your hungry ass in here.

I had lunch here on a Wednesday afternoon. The place was packed but the line moved fast. The staff is super fast and efficient without compromising quality. I already knew, based on friend’s experiences, to not step up to the order counter until you know what you want. They have a HUGE list of sub options both hot and cold. Some come with a pre-fib description but they always ask what exactly you want on it. This is great because you can customize. Just know what you want before you order. Take a good look at all the veggie, cheese, condiment and bread options before you step up for your turn. They have a well oiled sub making machine in place that can easily be turned out of whack if you wait until your turn to decide what you want. The cold subs are their forte. They slice the meats to order and they are very generous with the portions. All the vegetables are super fresh and they have a great selection of different condiments. They also have a pizza by the slice counter. Although not bad I’ve never been impressed by the pizza. I had it twice and decided to stick to their subs, which are huge and tasty. As per my pizza preference, the basic slices don’t have enough sauce or cheese. The specialty slices such as buffalo chicken look great but if I want pizza I go for the classics. The slices are large but just not all that good. They also have a self serve hot station featuring house made chili, several soups and mac-n-cheese. The chili is and the soups are tasty. Nothing fancy but obviously home made. If you’re going to get one of these, do so before ordering your sub or pizza. And… they have a huge selection of frosty beverages, non alcoholic as well as a sweet selection of craft brews. Again, gather all your goodies before ordering that sub. And the goodness doesn’t end there. They have decent hot coffee, hot tea, hot chocolate… again all self serve. They have fantastic egg sandwiches in the morning where they actually crack fresh eggs in front of you and cook them to your liking. Served on tasty grilled hard rolls with all the usual meat and cheese options. And… they sell cigarettes. I know. But. They have them. Short of liqueur they almost have it all.

This place far exceeded our expectations! Just looking for a quick bite before the ballgame, I really only saw a Taco Bell and a Wendy’s nearby. As I was pulling into Taco Bell, my wife said try Deli & Brew. Their sub’s were not only huge, but they were well priced and flavorful! They didn’t shy on the deli meats and the cheeses were very good and fresh. In a world of processed foods and preservatives, it was good to have some good tasting food! Highly recommended! I will drive 30 minutes out for good quality sub’s!

Like almost everyone I was exposed to Deli and Brew as an HVCC student. It has been several years since I have attended HVCC and I continue to go to Deli and Brew. Their sandwiches are wonderful and GIGANTIC!!! I get a monster mix(RB, turkey and ham) with LTO, cheddar and Russian. Their pizza is wonderful also, and they have a great selection of drinks and chips and such. The only thing I don’t like about Deli and Brew is that I don’t get to eat here enough anymore that I am no longer an HVCC student and no longer right next door all the time.

Subs are decent, pizza is surprisingly decent(not saying much for Capital Region pizza), but customer service is lacking. Staff is not the friendliest, but for a huge sub at a decent price — it’s easy to overlook. Just don’t get the American Mix. Ended up being nothing but bologna and mayo. Tasted like a giant hot dog slathered in fat.

So I realized on my second Italian that I’ve gotten from here, they gip you on it being an «Italian.» One layer of Salami, one layer of Pepperoni, and about 6 layers of Ham. If I wanted a Ham sandwich I would’ve asked! Next time I order one I’ll be sure to ask for even proportions. Lacked the actual taste on an Italian Sub because of this.

Not very impressed with the sandwiches at Deli & Brew. From the name, you’d think it’d be more of a restaurant with sandwiches and craft beer. However, it’s a convenience store that sells subs and beer. Maybe they should reconsider the name. Our subs were good, but there was only one bread option(plain) and the veggies were not very fresh. They do have a lot of beer, but unfortunately you can’t drink it in the store.

Foreword: I’m a Western NY(Buffalo specifically) native. The Buffalo Chicken Wing Sub. Can’t tell you that I’ve tried much else, because this sub is so damn good I don’t need anything more. HUGE pieces of chicken, a variety of toppings without charging you up the wazoo if you want more cheese, more sauce, more veggies. Great flavor, spicy, hot and quickly made(awesome Blue Cheese too). I’ve gotten pretty much any person I’ve ever been friends with or dated to try this sub and I’ve made a Deli&Brew-er out of them. Just a great place, nice service and it’s always got a few people in there getting stuff because it’s just GOOD there. Try it.

The Deli and Brew is my go-to lunch spot whenever I am en route to Hudson Valley Community College. It is the only mom and pop owned establishment in the immediate area, and for that I am thankful. The locally renowned establishment is pretty much a glorified convenient store that more importantly, serves big, tasty submarine sandwiches. They also have a variety of pizzas that are cooked much earlier in the day, and left on display to be ordered for reheating. What is distinct about the shop is that the Deli and Brew probably serves the biggest, most stuffed subs I have seen in the Capital Region. The large is easily two full meals. They have loads of toppings and dressings to accompany the sandwich. In addition they have some interesting hot subs of the day(7.99) and a different Turkey sub special each day as well. My favorite Turkey sub is the«Killer Keller» — Italian seasoned turkey, hot cappy ham, provolone and Italian dressing. I took this sandwich to go when I went to go hiking in the Adirondacks last fall. What an amazing mountaintop meal I had!(See my photo above) The problem: the price is also double to what I can get at my preferred sandwich shop, Sorrentino’s(see my last review). We are looking at closer to 10 dollars for a 12 inch sandwich. This isn’t outrageous by any means, but it’s not really the most budget-friendly option for the college folk who make up a good percentage of their clientele. I guess that is why I usually see them usually ordering the only slightly above average pizza(which is left on the counter for hours) instead of the much tastier subs. All in all, the Deli and Brew is a solid lunch option for anyone in the HVCC//North Greenbush vicinity, and I probably come here a few times a month. Warning: the staff, many of whom have been working here for a good while, can be a little rough around the edges. These big guys behind the counter are friendly enough I suppose, but be ready to know exactly what you are ordering and say it loud and clear. Any slight hesitation on your part might be mistaken for a moment of weakness, which in turn will complicate their smooth progression of serving you fast and efficiently. Also, good luck making left hand turns out of here.
