4.5 stars. I have no compliants. Yes it is more expensive per head but it is better quality and more than reasonable quantity. l am very impressed with the real charcoal and the ahjummas changing clean grills after each meat and very unobtrusively helped putting fresh meat on grill and let us carry on. We have no problem with service at all, when we asked for more kimchi, we were asked if we want more lettuce etcetc as well, attentive. The two of us ordered a seafood pancake as appetizer and it is the most authentic we had in the area with a great balance of soft and crisp, seafood vs batter. I would prefer more scallions and less batter myself but that is just me. We ordered Jang combo which we know is way too much for 2 but we want all 4 kinds of meat. We ended doggy bag half of everything. The ribeye is fresh and can taste the quality. The pork belly is good enough to eat as is. The bulgogi and spicy pork, perfectly seasoned and again can taste the freshness. You get more than paid for.

Hidden gem! Great food and service. The restaurant is a lot nicer than expected. Atmosphere is great. Nice place to grab a drink and food. Big flatscreen tvs on the walls and very modern décor. We got bbq for two. The waitress was very helpful and basically cooked the meats for us. Had a great time there and will definitely be going back.

Went with a group of 9 adults for a family dinner at 6 on a Friday. It was empty when we got there but it filled up quickly. The food was great and the service wasn’t *terrible* but it definitely could have been better — it was pretty slow and a few requests had to be repeated. The grill didn’t work on the first table we were seated at, but they moved us pretty quickly and then it was pretty smooth from there. At least they were generous with the banchan. Meh.

Came back for another try! Better staff now, except when they are really busy, they forget things and can’t come to help cook. Stoves worked better this time. Still average in my opinion.

I have been here 3 times since it’s opened and the food is great. I have had bbq 2 times and other Korean dishes the most recent visit. Korean bbq was solid, we didn’t do the meat combos and opted to just get pork belly. in my opinion, the best meat after kalbi. The bbq was solid and the banchan was good as well. My most recent visit my wife and I ordered a potato and pork stew which came in a sizzling platter and a beef tar tar bi bim bap. Both excellent.

This review is for the grill bbq. I havent had their other but have heard mixed reviews for it. We got the bbq special offer for $ 69. That was perfect for 5 people. 3 guys and 2 girls. We were all pretty stuffed and let a few piece of meat left. The bbq was good. Felt like we got alot for the price compared to other places. The pork belly is a very thick cut so it was a little wait for it to cook super crispy(the only way to go). We all love the side dishes & sauces for the meat. The rice was also provided & lettuce for wrapping(free). It also came with steamed egg which was suoer delicious! Their food was out fast, from the reviews before i was pretty surprised. And service was good too! We did go during sunday night which was busy thete, but i felt they were attentive to us and cooked our food(which im still not use to). We also got the gyong? Fried chicken. My friends found it delicious, but i thought it was ok, but thats just me. It came with 10 pieces for $ 14 dollars. Not bad. If u go and only get this, it’ll definitely be filling. The grill was had gas & charcoal, was kinda cool since ive never done a charcoal grill at a korean place. I love the decore inside, and they are definitely prepared for big parties as well as bbq style. They had a bigger area for bbq then for regular, and is alot bigger than other korean places. When you walk into this place, it definitely has a smell to it, not the food cooking, but fish, durian? Smell. Also, when sitting at the tables bbq table, u can definitely smell the gas, and more when the stove was on/off. I don’t feel like the ventilation vents help much. But they’re still new so ill give them time to sort things out. I definitely would recommend this place for big groups thinking of doing bbq. Idk about the regular food since i havent had it, but the grill ones were very good. On par with other places in the area, but u do get big portions when ordering.

!! Bad service!!! They never said welcome or Hello and thank you. Waitress came to our table only two time. One time for taking order and one time for the billing.

I was so excited to try a new Kbbq place but sadly, I was let down. All the negative comments from other reviewers rings so true with this place. I visited on Sunday at 5pm and me and my hubby were the only patrons there. My friend showed up about 5 mins before me and said that all the workers were sitting at a booth in the back of the restaurant and didn’t notice she was there until she started saying«Hello» very loudly. I understand when it’s slow, you don’t have much to do but at least have someone sitting at the hostess stand to watch for customers! We literally just sat down and our waiter asked if we were ready to order. I had to do a double take like what? I just got here, I don’t even know what the menu looks like! We asked for him to come back in a few mins so we could browse the menu. We all finally agreed on the Jang combo with kalbi, bulgogi, pork belly, and honey BBQ pork. We put our order in and the banchan and dipping sauces were brought out fairly quickly and then the grill was heated and the meats brought out. We accidentally started grilling the marinated meats first but were assured we would get a new grill top so that we could eat the fresh meat without having to worry about burnt taste. As we started to eat, we realized no rice was brought out. We asked our waiter for three bowls of rice and he disappeared never to be seen again. We waited for quite awhile and had eaten all the marinaded meat and had to ask a different person who replaced our grill top for rice. She brought it out quickly and started cooking the fresh meat for us. By this time patrons from Hmart and other patrons were filling up the restaurant and placing their orders and getting served quicker than we were. My hubby ordered a Sprite and when he was almost finished drinking it, someone came by and refilled his cup with water without asking him what was in his cup. We had to request another drink for him. After we were almost finished with our food, that’s when again a different server came out to finish cooking all of our fresh meats but we were too full to finish. We were puzzled why no one cooked the other meat for us or offered. Needless to say, I don’t think we will be returning to this establishment.

This place was extremely hyped up in the Korean community(and by Korean community I guess I mean my mom), and our experience was quite disappointing. You can tell that they’re still new so hopefully they’ll improve, but I’ll never know if they do. — Asked for refills on the ban chan(side dishes) to two people four times. If their policy is not to fill it, which shouldn’t be the case, just tell us, rather rather than saying you will and never following through. — We got kalbi on the barbecue and we were just expected to do everything. At other Korean restaurants they slice the meat and put it on the grill, and we watch and flip as necessary. At least OFFER to help. What are you getting paid for? — The charcoal wasn’t quite right throughout our meal. It never heated high enough so it was taking FOREVER to cook the meat. I’m talking 40 minutes. We flagged two different people, twice, and all they would do is fiddle with the charcoal. Eventually, a young guy came with one of the gas barbecue ranges and cooked the rest of the meat for us. Ridiculous. That’s not what we came here for. If we’re telling you your product isn’t working the way it’s supposed to be, someone should come up with a solution quickly. Not 40 minutes later. Genius idea: Open up one of the other barbecues since no one else was around. — Our waitress took our order and disappeared for the majority of our time. We had other people coming around, but never her … until it was time to pay the bill.

One word, DELICIOUS! Definitely my new go to Korean BBQ place! My boyfriend and I went in on a Tuesday afternoon and were quickly greeted and seated. The place is nice and spacious compared to the other Korean restaurants. We ordered the«Jang» BBQ combination. It came with banchan(side dishes), steamed egg, salad, and a variety of meats including marinaded kalbi, bulgogi, and pork belly! The portions were generous and could easily feed 3 – 4 people. I respectfully disagree with the other negative reviews because everything they served us was of quality and very fresh. I would definitely go back and recommend this place anyone looking for good authentic charcoal BBQ.

Seriously the best Korean bbq in metro Detroit. I love the fact that they use a charcoal grill and not just gas. The pork belly here is delicious.

First time here and it’s everything I hoped for. Great service, great Korean BBQ, everything is good. We were excited to try it out after seeing the sign. It’s a big chain and we had been to one in another part of the world. I’d say the value is pretty good too. Not inexpensive but you get a lot of high quality meat for the price.

I’ve been to a lot of Korean BBQ restaurants, but this one far surpasses them all. The meat was extremely fresh, tender, and flavorful, and the service was remarkable. It was as if I was at a five star restaurant. 10⁄10 would recommend, if you live within 100 miles, YOUNEEDTOCOMEHERE!

Such a fabulous hidden gem! I have ventured into many Korean restaurants and none of them come as close as this. Although its location is not very exposed– to the left of the Hmart plaza, in a tiny corner – the service was quick and had a very polite group of staff members. The place was clean and peaceful, decorated with very eye-pleasing furnitures. Food was STELLAR – high quality and delicious(I ordered the BBQ combo, very much recommended). Prices were affordable for such quality foods. Overall, I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to be left with a happy, satiated face. Good food is good mood am I right shout out to mike

I usually go to Seoul Garden in Ann Arbor for Korean BBQ because it’s the best I’ve ever had(word to Drake). I tried this new restaurant because I was in the neighborhood and I can say I was thoroughly impressed. The quality of the food was fantastic, great servers, and the BBQ was delicious. I ordered a meat plater and loved every bit of it. I can only say one thing about this restaurant and Seoul Garden. In the words of Drake, «You the best I ever had».

I dont usually write reviews and i usually dont complain. But this was one of the worst experience i’ve ever had in a restaurant. My food came after an hour of waiting while everyone finished their food(server probably missed it), and my food(bossam — pork dish) was rushed, undercooked and very smelly. They tried to cover up the smell by putting some kind of ginger paste. None of my friends liked their food either. Mul nengmyun was blend and noodle was soggy. Servers had no idea what they were doing either. No one said they wanted to come back.

Best Korean food I ever had. Definitely coming back. The BBQ combinations are really good and gives you a wide variety of meats. Service was surprisingly good for a new restaurant.

New Korean BBQ restaurant! A must go if you’re a fan of quality korean BBQ and food! They use charcoal, which is unheard of and you can really taste the difference. It reminds me of when my family and I used to BBQ outdoors for korean church outings. They just opened and the décor is awesome. A bit traditional but also very modern and clean. I’ve been to some others in the area and the other Korean BBQ places are a bit outdated. I loved the lunch specials and the marbling on the prime rib is perfection! This place is great for a group of friends and they serve alcohol! Soju, beer, and makegoli!
