I used Grant Hemond for my wedding, I did not get to meet the dj personally but everything was positively perfect. The announcements were spot on, we gave them an idea of what we would like played and not and they did that perfectly.

This DJ service was suggested to us by the venue we used (Sunken Gardens in St. Pete) and our photographers (Sarah & Ben Photography). Cory was our DJ and he was the best! He contacted us before the wedding and he asked all the right questions to make sure all the music and introductions went off without a hitch. We changed things up on him last minute, and he was happy to accommodate us. He was familiar with the venue, and suggested we add LED uplighting to our package. The price was a fraction of what we had been quoted elsewhere, and really looked amazing and made for awesome pictures. Corey picked a great selection of music for us, and kept the dance floor crowded! Everyone kept telling us what a great time they had at our wedding, and Corey was a major reason why! I’d suggest Grant Hemond & Associates for any event; they were very reasonably priced, flexible, and professional.

Louis from Grant Hemond was the perfect DJ for us. Leading up to the wedding we were really nervous as most people are about little details, especially the music for some reason. But from the moment we talked to Louis on the phone we felt a weight lifted off of our shoulders. Louis made us feel comfortable and put us at ease. We knew everything would be great and it was. The wedding flowed perfectly from top to bottom, and the music he played could not have been better.
If we had to do things over again we would not change a thing. Louis and Grant Hemond were amazing and I highly recommend them to anyone getting married.

Kept the flow, very organized with setup and lighting but ignored the playlist and went too long with the slow songs.

Ben was our DJ for our wedding that took place at the Sandbar on Anna Maria Island. He was amazing! His personality is large, full of smiles and kindness. He did a very good job keeping everyone on the dance floor and announcing each part of our wedding. I don’t live in the area or plan to never marry again but if I do, I will definitely request Ben.
Pricing is also very reasonable.

We hired Grant Hemond & Associates to light and DJ our wedding at the Clearwater Rec Center on February 21, 2014. I had originally planned to DJ the wedding myself but after meeting Michael Planas at Sugardarlings for a cupcake tasting party, my mother and I knew we had to have him attend as our DJ and Master of Ceremonies. Michael was extremely available and courteous the whole time before the wedding — he understood our taste in music (we are both twenty somethings) and even helped coordinate the overall schedule of the day. When our wedding day finally arrived, Michael went above and beyond in his DJ duties, helping push the ceremony along, even when we got rained out and had to get married in the reception area. He spun a great mix of music and styles, acted as the MoC, and the red lights he set up we got were the perfect touch. There were even extra strobes and lasers that made the dancing even more fun. It was a seamless night, very much in part to Michael and his talent and personality of a DJ and MoC. He is extremely friendly and outgoing, something we really value as a family. Despite the added cost, we were able to work out a payment plan and having Michael at the wedding was beyond the value of what we paid. We absolutely recommend Grant Hemond & Associates, and in particular Michael Planas, as the DJ for any event, wedding and alike.

I had heard from several different people that Grand Hemond and Associates was the best DJ. I completely agree! First of all, they are very reasonable with their prices and were willing to work with me to create the reception of my dreams. I liked that the company matches you with a DJ based on your needs.
Onto the DJ, Gary Craddick. He highly exceeded our expectations. My husband and I are extremely laid back and just wanted a «fun» reception. It was definitely fun. Gary took my requests very seriously and worked to move the reception along. His fun personality really helped with getting the party started. He even helped us organize some personal family traditions that are a bit outside of the box.
I really recommend Grant Hemond & Associates to any bride. The great thing about this company is that they are adaptable to what you WANT!

This was right down the middle of the road for me. The front office was prompt, helpful, attentive, flexible and professional. Our DJ seemed the same until the day of, but I expected this turn from reviews on The Knot.
Because of those reviews, I painstakingly spent a year putting together a pre-​ceremony playlist, a ceremony playlist, cocktail hour, first dances, dinner hour and beyond… I didn’t hear at least 20 of the songs I requested, and I had the playlists timed pretty well. I put in special requests for must-​plays and didn’t hear those. I didn’t hear songs that were rare and special to us. I know the mics went during the ceremony — during my husband’s vows that he had written… I had my MOH request a Britney song because the DJ insisted on 2.5 straight hours off the slow oldies portion of our playlist, and he picked a Britney song out of the air — not off our playlist. We were bored, and we told him not to play oldies all up front because we knew we would be. If I wasn’t so busy hauling my heavy dress around, I would have monitored him myself, but it was my wedding and I didn’t want to spend it telling people what to do – I was tired of doing that. I hired him, so I trusted him. I am still pretty bummed.
On the flipside, he totally led the opening of the reception and got Jews and non-​Jews alike up to do the Hora as we requested. We were a pretty unwieldy group, but he was versatile and responded to the crowd with this one. I was pretty impressed. He did save our last two dance requests for the end — he totally remembered talking to us about that. And that was awesome. It sealed the night perfectly for me, so he ended on a high note. His equipment was good too, save the clip-​on mic that died in the ceremony. That’s important when you’re picking a DJ — good volume, crisp and clear sound, no feedback and bass control.
All in all, music was the most important part of our day and I still have regrets about waiting until the last hour or hour-​and-​a-​half to really get the party started. I know this is a popular DJ company and they can’t get them all right, but these are common complaints about this DJ and it’s worth it to see if they can be addressed.
