Stopped here, on our way to fern canyon, we wanted to buy medicine for cold and some munchies for further journey, everything was well organized and we didn’t face any problem finding anything, though it is small place so options are less. If u have time u shd try lighthouse grill which is next to it for quick bite

It is a tiny market, but much better than the one in Orick. Prices are The BBQ outside was hit or miss. The tri-tip was dry. The sausage was great.

On a road trip, I always seem to be running into little grocery stores to grab this or that. I was craving a Starbucks frappucino in a bottle, so I popped in here to see if they had it and then spent the next 15 minutes wandering around the aisles. Since this seemed to be the biggest store in town, they had nearly every little essential item you might need from snacks to meats to alcohol. Nice selection!

A great market located in this tiny tourist town. From the outside I didn’t expect much but they seem to have a little bit of everything inside. Great quality produce and meat. The sections may be small but there’s great variety. Same with all the aisles including the beer and wine. The majority of customers seem to be those who are camping or staying at inns in this area(located near the beach and just outside the Redwoods) so they cater to their needs. But locals shop here too. I also found it a handy spot to buy stuff with my debit card and getting cash back when my wallet was getting thin.

Very nice market with a great selection of local products. Excellent beer and wine choices and a lot of great baked goods from around the area. The BBQ out in front is the bomb and the tri-tip sandwich is particularly good.

We are staying in Trinidad while we explore the Redwood Parks. Murphy’s has a little bit of everything and anything to stock our vacation rental and picnic bag! They have lots of vegetarian meat alternatives, a variety of beer, locally roasted coffee, and good produce. Grateful to have it available! Tourist tip: There’s a post office next door where you can drop off post cards.

Really love this market. Great selection of meats and seafood, as well as nice deli. A little pricey, but it’s a small tourist town, so not too bad. Lot’s of gourmet foods, locally baked breads, etc.

Great selection of local stuff, from bagels to cheese. Everything you need for weekly groceries or a camping trip up to the redwoods. They also have a nice wine selection and a pretty great deli too.

I love the selection at their deli, but as others have said it would be nice to have the option to heat-up entrees. My tamal was tasty, but was not meant to be eaten cold — giant chunks of pork were difficult to chew and it contained an unmelted slice of cheese. Perhaps I should have known better, but considering how many tourists in the area may want something filling and cheap, maybe they should consider a heat-up option?

I think it’s pretty awesome to find such a nice market in such a small town when you are on vacation. The prices are reasonable, the selection is very good. They even have a good variety of organic fruits and veggies. The fellows behind the meat counter knew what date the fresh salmon came into the store. They have all the good brands of groceries that I normally like to buy, and even a nice little bulk foods section. Everyone from the stockers to the cashiers was super friendly and helpful. I was impressed! For a community to have a nice market like this will definitely entice me to come back and stay again.

There’s something about shopping at Murphy’s in Trinidad that makes me feel like I’m on vacation. It’s the only grocery store in Trinidad and is conveniently located right off the 101. There is plenty of parking and never long lines. You can find a great selection of local and imported goods including: wines, micro brews, breads, jams, meats and other things. The deli is worth eating at. You can grab a ready to go sandwich for about $ 6(Day olds $ 4 – 5) or you can have a fresh one made just for you. Make sure to grab a rewards card. They have great fried chicken that starts cooking about 10am daily. I go here in the mornings to grab coffee, doughnuts, and bait for fishing. They have everything you need to get out fishing(poles, bait, line, weights, lures etc.). Their squid and anchovies are about the same price as the gas station and bait shop.

A great little grocery store in the Redwood nation north of Eureka. Nestled in the quiet town of Trinidad is a family owned store that has been around for what seems like ever. A great selection of fresh meats and seafood(most comes right from the pier less tan a mile away). The grocery items are all abundant and vary widely so selection isn’t much of a problem. I usually shop here when camping at nearby Patrick’s Point, you’re able to buy all the supplies you’ll need from this general store. Friendly staff and a clean store make this place pretty awesome.

Friendly Market with a Delish Deli Counter On my many trips to this market I have picked up the usual supplies such as Eel River beers, soda, Humboldt creamery cheese, sausages, chips and fresh corn with friendly service and decent pricing. What did surprise me is the local seafood you can sometimes find in the deli selection such as super fresh crab cakes(all crab hardly any cake) and oysters ready to throw on your BBQ and add a shot of hot sauce. Once I even created an entire emergency birthday present for my dad out of the camping supplies, socks and hardware goodies they have, he loved it!

One of the wonderful things about living in the Bay Area is that you’re spoiled rotten with goodness. Markets are always packed with excellent meats and veggies, they tend to sport an excellent wine selection, and oodles of good beer. The unfortunate side effect of this is that it turns you into a snob. You walk into a store in Missouri, look at their selection, and sigh. So on a camping weekend up in Humboldt, when I had to make a supply run, my buddy and I pulled into the parking lot of Murphy’s Market and thought«Well, we’re camping, we shouldn’t expect much.» Well, smack my arse and call me Judy — the place was excellent, and taught me not not to jump to conclusions. Decent meat, good looking veggies(we were camping, so didn’t peruse them more) a groovy little deli, excellent coffee — but most important, a wonderful selection of local brews from Eel River, Lost Coast, Six Rivers to name but a few. It’s like someone picked up Scotty’s and dropped it smack in the middle of the State of Jefferson. Alas, they also carried Scotty’s prices, but since we live in the Bay Area, we were already used to being fleeced. Next time we head up there, we’ll know that we don’t have to pack as much, since there’s a friendly little store that’s got our backs.
