Wanted to try Flapjack’s again since it’s under new ownership. It was okay. The restaurant itself is cute inside and the outdoor seating patio is perfect on a sunny day. The pancakes are«melt-in-your-mouth» good, but I didn’t care for the home fried potatoes. They were extremely garlicy, which weren’t combining well with the pancakes. We also asked for hash browns and they don’t offer those. Hmmm, pretty odd for a breakfast joint. Service was great. Not sure if we’ll come again with all of the other breakfast places in town, unless maybe they add hash browns to the menu.

went to Flapjack’s…excited since we had not been here in some time. sign out front stated Under New management. well we sat out side. realized they changed the menu. I was not impressed. They brought pur food out. we were a table of 4. when plate came I looked at it confused. .asked the boy that brought it out where my sourdough bread was cuz I ordered a sandwich… he said no it doesn’t come with what u ordered. i stated it said on the menu it come on sourdough bread… he got a menu and pointed to a scramble. i said no i asked for this and pointed to the sandwichs… they got it wrong. They did make it after that. and I was expecting fries to come with it.nope. they did leave the other dish. but i didnt want it. i did have a couple fries off that plate. and they were covered in a ton of salt. i thought it was parmesan. I was disappointed. We will not be returning.

I ordered a Jj scramble. It says it has three eggs. I doubt it. It had raw jalapeños and so much cheese I scraped away the cheese on top to find a another handful of cheese at the bottom. Three stars for environment and staff. But the food it self wasn’t to great. The potatoes I had were good. The toast was slathered in butter they give you one piece. I only ate the potatoes and had them take the rest away I left a quarter of a plate with cheese. I most likely won’t stop by here on my travels.

Stopped off for some breakfast before heading to Pinnacles national park. It was a great decision. The wife order the pesto omelet and I ordered the breakfast tacos. The wife’s looked so good I had to try a bite for myself, delicious. I’m not one to stray from my usual biscuits and gravy or chicken fried steak. But today I did just that. And the bust of my chops from my wife helped. The tacos came out kinda street style with a little momma. The tortillas were doubled up. Street style. And mo. a because the shells had just a hint of crisp and they were packed! I made a third one. They where so full. We left completely satisfied. I was all carbed up and ready to do some hiking. Great breakfast, great décor, great staff.

I loved Flapjacks under the old owners and it was my first time trying it out under the new ones. Overall it was great! I ordered the Frittata and it was delicious. The waiters were very prompt but very sweet with letting us take(lots of) time before we ordered. I do think it lost a little bit of the charm that the old restaurant to have, but it was great food and a perfect place for breakfast. Will be back!

This place recently changed ownership and flat out did not keep the food the same. The chicken fried steak tasted like a frozen patties that they heated in the microwave and used caned gravy on top. The corn beef hash no longer is real corn beef hash– it was out of the can. I ordered over easy eggs which were hard. And the prices were ridiculous. For two people it was nearly $ 50 bill. Sad to say this place kept the same name but completely skimped on the food quality. Will not be here again for breakfast.

The look of the building on the inside and outside is very pleasing, and welcoming. The inside of the restaurant is modern country, and very cozy, just needs some more breakfast charm, it needs more cow bell… a little more country Ok the food here is pretty good however the customer service needs a lot of work. We waited for 30 min in the hot sun for a table and then i had to tell them there was a table available outside. The guy said, «really, oh I dont know» and I had just saw him clean two sets of tables. I showed him and he said, «Oh ya, you can take it.”(I do not like it when staff are so unaware of what guests are coming and going, and keeping on top of the bussing of the tables. There should be a hostess, who knows whats going on inside and outside) So then we sit down, and we get coffee and juice. Then we order our food, and that went fine. Then we had to wait about 45 min for our food, and one of my hugest pet peeves is when the dam restaurant brings out alI of the orders but one, or half of the meals, not bringing it out all together, and this restaurant, with the new owners, has been notorious for doing this, and AGAIN, they brought all of our parties food out, except for one plate. We were all almost done with our food, while our 10 year old had to watch us eat(we shared our items with him). Also, my meal came with a side of toast, and I at first did not get it. And then I ate for a bit, and I mentioned it to the waiter, and then I ate more of my food, and no toast, and I finished my food, and I never got more toast. Also, please get rid of the plastic water cups, it makes the water look dingy, and less appealing. If you use real glasses, the water will look fresh and crisp. It kind of feels like a cafeteria drinking out of those cups. Please. Please…Flapjacks owners, listen to the Unilocalers… The cooks are making great food(love the gluten free items), but the management and customer service of the restaurant needs work. I miss the last owners. The people that are now running this place need a lot of help, but so does most of the eateries here in Hollister. Oh well, another one bites the dust.

Had the Fritatta and the ham’n’eggs. Both were excellent. The new management has greatly expanded staffing, and the service and atmosphere were the perfect«country» prelude to our day of hiking in the Pinnacles.

By far best breakfast I had in long time. The servers were great and were so cool with the kids. The chocolate chip pancakes were good kids love them. I had French toast sandwich and it changed my life. Will definitely be back they stop service at 1:45.

Went there for breakfast and I got a omeletand my husband got corned beef and hash. My food was ok but it took 45 minutes to get those two simple meals. His corned beef looked like dog food and wasn’t even pan cooked, it was just microwave soup! Nasty, never go there again, especially when hungry.

So so much better with the old negativity out of the building. It was very crowded but did not have an excessive wait.

Went there after being out of the area for a year. The bacon was okay, but a little greasy and not all was crisp. Last year it was best bacon I’d ever had – all 3 visits. Also served avacado that had brown areas and country potatoes were not prepared fresh in the kitchen. Breakfast burito was excellent.

First time, Last time Went for breakfast this morning, not too crowded seated right away service was good it is the food that is the problem. I ordered sausage, eggs, hash browns and a biscuit with gravy, they were out of hash browns so they gave me home fries which were just cut up frozen French fries deep fried, no onions or peppers. I ordered over easy eggs that came hard, the sausage was ok, the biscuit was dry and the gravy was ice cold and flavorless. my son ordered eggs benedict which was two fried eggs covered in watery hollandaise sauce, same crappy potatoes. all of this overcooked flavorless crap for a whopping 28 bucks!!! NEVERAGAIN

Sad to say the service was so slow it warranted a bad review. The wait staff was pleasant but not quick with the coffee refill. The food came out 1 hour after being seated. When we received our food the order was incorrect and when we mentioned that it was not what we ordered we were told sorry we ran out. Substituting is fine but a little communication goes a long way like hey no more hash browns you are going to get home fries. Also received ham instead of bacon in the omelet. At this point there was another table who just strait left after waiting longer than us. Food was great if they can figure out how to be more efficient I would go back.

New owner, freshly painted with some small changes, though the menu appears to be about the same. Been here three times since reopening, and all meals have been very good, service friendly, coffee is hot and tasty. I think they should do well!

Food Great-Service Terrible! The food is great but the service time was terrible. We waited for our food 1 hr and 20 minutes. Not once did the waitress tell us what was going on!!! The waitress as it turns out was owner and they had one of the cooks quit. The food is great, but the service is terrible. Plus the version of Crepes is a fold large pancake. Also, The waitress told me that«Strawberries were not in season» and the table next to us just got served Strawberries! The have no customer service at all!!! If you have all day-stop by and wait for one hour and a half!!!

The worst service my bf and I have ever received in our lives. We ended up walking out, that is how bad it was. If you have to wait 20 mins at a table and watch people that have been seating after you being served there food, don’t expect your customer’s to stay or write anything good about your customer service skills. People are lazy this day in age and seem to want everything handed to them. Servers receive good tips because they are good servers. the same goes for Business owners, be a good owner and you will make good money! We spotted Cozy Cup Café on 4th Street in Hollister, CA on the way home which ended up being the greatest experience and breakfast we’ve had to this day! I guess I can say thank you for the horrible service Flapjacks or we wouldn’t have found Cozy Cup Café!

Super delicious and a hidden gem in Hollister/Tres Pinos! :). I live out of town and can’t find any breakfast place like this where I live, so we make a special effort to stop in. Staff is very attentive, and their menu is huge! You will never leave hungry at Flapjacks, large portions and big variety. They even offer gluten free flapjacks! A little something for everyone. Outdoor seating is available, which I love because i like to bring my dog. My favorites are the banana walnut pancakes or the eggs Blackstone Benedict with fresh salmon. Can’t go wrong with this family run breakfast joint, it does get busy on the weekends, but that’s to be expected since it’s so yummy :).
