I was in line at the checkout today behind an older lady and I noticed that Nicole the cashier rebadged this lady’s purchases so they wouldn’t be too heavy for her to lift. They get a lot of older customers and when I see the employees being considerate to older people I just want to give the store about 800 million stars. It just makes me think of my own parents and how I would want them treated. This place is more expensive than Shop Rite and has a smaller selection but the deli is much better and it’s worth it to pay more for a shopping experience that is more pleasant and relaxed.

Just down the road from the office, Foley’s is the place to stop for the short shopping list needs before heading home. It is smaller than the modern megastores, and reminds of a time when walking to the grocery for bread and milk was a right of passage for all kids reaching 12. Here, high school kids get their after school and summer jobs, learn how a business is run, and save money for that first car or college. The aisles are easy to navigate, and get in and out in 15 minutes or less. It may not have everything you want, but if you shop some times, you just might find, you get what you need.

I love this little small town style grocery store. They still employ lots of young people whom they seem to manage well. They have a growing selection of organically grown produce and dairy which is great for me. The produce section is overall very well managed and stocked. This is the only grocery I’ve ever seen hard neck garlic for sale! Awesome… I also enjoy the busy deli counter. They have daily, made to order sandwich specials at really competitive prices. My one rather large gripe is the cleanliness at the deli. It looks increasing filthy. To the point that, if it doesn’t get better I’ll be forced to stop patronizing the deli. There’s loose unmarked meat laying around. I only buy Boar’s head which is double the price of most others; so If I can’t be sure it’s Boar’s Head why buy it. There’s several different types of meat touching. Also, there’s no list of what they carry. It’s always a guessing game. No prices, no re-wrapping, no dates. It’s a deal breaker for me, which sucks for my good friend Bob D. and I(see his reviews also). Because after a nice afternoon of ‘Day Drinking’ we love to stop in and grab a al carte Hoagie! Please clean up your act Foleys. When Bob is 3 sheets to the wind(or more) even he can tell it’s filthy behind the deli counter! P. S. I love the 1950’s feel and music this place has.
