It was just average and that is a reach. The yellow chicken fried rice lacked taste and the lo mein was noodles and soy which was not creative at all. And as others posted — it needs to be cleaned. Dust/grime in corner near the front door tells me u just don’t care. Not many options for fair priced Chinese food in Traverse City, so go at your own risk.

Ordered takeout! Came in at a timely manner. I ordered mapo tofu it was not traditional style all. The sesame chicken had too much sauce. Crab rangoons and shrimp was good tho!

Fair version of Americanized Asian food. If you’re ever wondered what a kitchen at a Chinese restaurant looked like wonder no more. Your fears are true. Suggest cleaning the joint up or putting up a wall to block our vision from the kid scratching his butt while making our food… better yet build a wall AND clean the place.

Great food. Nice portion size. Went 2 times on our recent visit to Traverse city. Food tastes like authentic Chinese as adapted to American tastes.

I can’t really rate the service– because this is a take out place! However, my food has always been made promptly and I have always felt very satisfied with my purchase. I have had the lomein and sesame chicken among others. It’s a very solid Chinese place– and I find myself satisfied each return

I recently went to Fu Hua with friends and I have to say… it was Fabulous. I had the Sesame Chicken and loved it… great flavor great portion sizes. If your looking for a neat tidy place this wont be for you because it is not the cleanest, but all I wanted was a great meal and I got it. We were all happy :)))). I go there about once a week… love it

I had heard that Fu Hua was not very good, so I didn’t try it. After trying all the other Chinese restaurants in Traverse City, I decided to try it. Wish I had tried it sooner is all I can say! Husband and myself ordered the combo plates of Sesame Chicken and Chicken and Snow Peas. They were fabulous! Great flavor in both dishes. Only minor issue was that instead of Plum Sauce for the egg rolls, they served sweet & sour sauce. That said, the main dishes were great!

Really solid Chinese takeout. Not gourmet by any stretch but definitely a reliable option if you’re feeling Chinese. I get the honey chicken with noodles, and it’s a staple of my diet.

This is the best Chinese food I have ever had. The General Tso is the best! My husband loves the hunan chicken and cashew chicken! This will be the only place I eat chinese from now on!

Saturday night we felt like having Chinese and relax in our hotel room eating spicy food and watching a movie. They had Singapore noodles which we don’t find in many Chinese take outs, so ordered that and Hunan chicken. We Loved it, the spice was perfect and food so tasty! Certainly one of the best take outs we’ve ever had. We’ll certainly order from here during our next visit

I can’t even say enough about how delicious their Hunan Chicken is! We often can’t even wait to drive home to start eating it. Super delicious food and great friendly staff I sort of request the Hunan Chicken with«black bean brown sauce» and extra garlic. Whatever they make me is always delicious. Show them the photo of what I order(posted a bunch) and they’ll know what to do.

I try not to look when I go in because it is a little sketchy looking inside, but I love the food. We can usually make a couple meals from one take out. I’ve never been treated poorly by anyone there(teen or adult) and we eat there about once a month, sometimes more often.

Typical Chinese food found Anywhere, USA. Good flavors that will satisfy your Chinese Take-Out craving. We ordered(4) vegetable egg rolls that were very unimaginative rolled with only flavorless, unseasoned cabbage. Go for the other flavors offered in hopes they work better for you. Crab Rangoons are a 4 out of 5 on the sweet meter. I prefer more savory that would suggest a hint of crab somewhere in the mix. Sweetened Cream Cheese Wontons/Rangoons would be a more practical listing. We are visiting for a few weeks and will probably not order from here again but would if on a longer stay. I could see every three months unless I found a better place in TC which one would hope.

Food is delicious! Teens are rude but what teenager isn’t rude? Food was better than expected. Order chicken egg foo yung which was three huge patties that were kind of flat but have fresh veggies and nice chicken chunks. Patties were really fluffy! Also ordered sweet and sour chicken which was nothing to write home about but decent. Prices are really reasonable total came to around 15 bucks if I’m in TC again I will definitely get another takeout order from here.

So far the reviewers are spot on. The younger people that take the order are rude. I will post again to discuss if the food is good or not.

I like this place– fast, friendly; ordered a house fried rice and it was perfect! Hot, fresh, well-seasoned, not salty!

This rating is based on the hot & sour soup which was a perfect combination of heat and sour punch-filled with veggies and the chicken low-mein which was average and would have been better with a few more veggies. As others have stated, it is the best Chinese that I have found in TC.

The best Chinese take out in Traverse City! Only downside is it’s not that big or clean when eating in. It does have a open kitchen so you can see the food being made and the kitchen IS clean. If it was bigger and cleaner in the eating area i would give it one more star. Best Chinese food in TC and a clean kitchen for a Chinese eatery is a big plus. I highly recommend this place!

Fu hua is good honest Chinese food. Compared to anything else in TC it is great food. It isn’t the cleanest place in the world but it will do. The employees are very kind. Always bringing your food out and helping you get the best bang for your buck. Me and my family have become personal friends with the owners and their family. It is not a place you take your date but it is good for kids and family meals. There is not much seating but you can take it to go, get it delivered, or just get lucky and eat in. It is perfect food for a cold day when you just want some homie food. My sons love the steamed dumplings and the chicken and broccoli dish. I myself prefer the shrimp and chicken but both are full of flavor and warmth. With a wide selection of drinks and entrees you can’t go wrong with a meal at fu hua.
