Jalos Taqueria

I used to love this place. I used to eat here at least 1 – 2 times a week. The owners used to always be there and they were super friendly and the food was always fresh and tasty. Tonight I went to pick up dinner for my family. Pretty simple order 3 burritos with beans rice and cheese only. What I got was three tortillas stuffed with rice and cheese only. I noticed when I got home so I thought I would just call and go back to pick up the correct order. When I called the lady that answered was immediately annoyed and told me I ordered cheese and rice only. I couldn’t believe it. Who would order a cheese and rice burrito. So I explained there must be a mis understanding I will come get new burritos. She refused me and insisted that I somehow ordered burritos with only rice and cheese. Really such a stupid petty thing to argue about. I hung up on her and will now go to the other 1000 taquerias in the Tracy area.

My family and I loved this place until about 6 months ago. We always order the chicken or carnitas burritos, but for a while now, we have been getting sick with upset stomachs after eating. I’m not a fan of Der Wierschnitzel but it doesn’t upset my stomach and it’s close by.

Don’t eat there!!! I found a hair in my food and when I brought it to there attention they said it was my hair and would not refund my money. Funny how it was my hair when mine is brown and short and the hair was 6 inches long and black!!!

I just paid $ 8.50 for 2 hard shell chicken tacos (ice cold chicken) and a medium soda. Not worth it at all major regrets!

I ordered a pastor super burrito and they gave me leftover, scraps. I came back to get my money back and they wouldn’t honor it. They wanted to give me another burrito, which I didn’t want.
This place was good in the beginning when they opened but now it’s crap. Always something.

I thought I’d grab a breakfast burrito on the way to work. Instead, I had the pleasure of standing at the counter watching staff in the back ignore me. I hung around until I got to the point where I felt that if they did acknowledge me, the interaction would be awkward.
I left hungry.

Two stars — one for chips and salsa and the other for the nice lady behind the counter.
I ordered the burrito with carne asada and wife got the pastor quesadilla.
My burrito was totally soggy and mediocre at best– the quesadilla was also soggy and the pastor was just salty I mean super salty.
Don’t think we will come back here anytime soon.

Went here for lunch despite the bad reviews. Had a carne asada burrito which was just okay. Not a ton of meat but would probably go back just to give it another shot.

I feel like Gordon Ramsey should come here to do an episode of Kitchen Nightmares on this restaurant. Chicken, burnt. Chips, no salt. Soda, overpriced. Overall, nothing makes this place special at all. It is just some average Mexican place at best. Fish tacos are pretty good, H owever, they don’t have their own sauce for them. They just put a shit load of sour cream instead.

I don’t know if they got a new cook but the last 3 times we have gone here it is absolutely disgusting. Before that I loved this place. The meat is not cut right and you end up getting more hard and chewy pieces then good pieces. My husband had menudo, no flavor and all bones. Very disappointing for a place we use to like. We won’t be back after having 3 bad dinners.

So this review was supposed to be for yesterday but I went with Valerie. And what ended up ordering was two tacos both of them are chicken and they were jampacked with the check and they did not skip out on it which was one thing that surprised me because I’m used to having small tacos. but the tortillas were normal size they want the mini ones and you know overall it was seven dollars for two tacos in the really well-​made. The wait time wasn’t too bad there was two people in front of me I had to wait maybe about 10 minutes but it was really good and the people are very nice I was very happy about that as well

This place is going so downhill. they cant even serve hot food. being a vegetarian I don’t have the same issues as most Unilocalers but Hot food is a must. If you’re in the area and starved head to subway. its better.

I have no idea how this place still exists. No love for this place because they put no love in their food.

No idea where the bad reviews have come from, the food was good, people were friendly and price was normal. I’ve driven by here a few times on trips to LA, was in the area today so I stopped to eat and expected to be disappointed based on the reviews I read. It couldn’t have been any different, I was very happy with everything there. Got some pork tacos and chicken nachos, figured I’d try most of their ingredients that way. Their menu is huge, breakfast items look good too.
I’ll definitely stop back by next time I’m in the area! I eat a ton of Mexican food (check my reviews) and this spot would go atop my list.

I was starving and happened to be in the area so I decided to give it a try despite what recent Unilocalers have said. Shame on me.
It was a clue that I was the only one in the place despite the parking lot being full.
I ordered the carne asada super burrito and got it to go. Waited a few minutes and got my order. It was a hefty burrito.
I got on the road, unfoiled my burrito and took a bite. Nothing but rice. I get it. Sometimes gravity works funny and shifts the contents around. I took another bite. Rice and beans. Still no meat. Mind you I’m driving so I’m taking huge bites so I don’t drop anything.
Finally my third bite and no only do I get meat, but I get a strip of meat. A strip? What happened? I don’t think I’ve ever had a burrito with strips of meat. Of course when the strip came out, it caught me by surprise so I dropped bits of rice on myself. Dammit.
Anyhow, rice was bland. Re fried beans were bland. Carne asada was bland. Quite possibly one of the worst burritos I’ve ever had. I didn’t even finish it. People who know me know I don’t waste food.
Unilocalers, don’t be like me and ignore the advice of others. Pass this place up and get much better food in Tracy. I won’t be coming back to this one.

$ 7 for two chicken tacos and a watered down Horchata. Tacos were soggy by the time I ate them (5 mins after pick up), and appeared to have more onions and salsa than chicken.
Was a nice option among the gas station and chain Subway shop, but I don’t plan on returning here again.

Are they under new ownership?
I used to love this place, but over time the food has gotten worse and worse. I went today and after eating I have to say they will not be getting any more of my money. I ordered carne asada tacos with the crunchy shell. The shells were stale, almost inedible. The carne asada was though, fatty and flavorless. My food was cold, but I was starving. I would have done better eating a frozen dinner.

While driving up to Berkeley on early Friday morning I knew enough to be prepared for the crazy drive through UnPleasanton…
I stopped for fuel and thought it would be smart to eat.
Jalos has an extensive menu! I decided on some fish tacos which were actually quite nice! Fresh and plentiful with lots of fish.
I definitely have pegged this cute place as my new stopping point just before Alta Mont Pass.
There is gas, 7 Eleven and Jalos.

I was asked to pick up some food from this place at the request of my sister and while I was enroute to her area out of convenience. She had called in the order and I had her specifically tell them that I didn’t want Pico de Gallo or guacamole in my burrito to which they replied they never put that in burritos. When my sister reported back to me what they said, I was happy.
About 10 mins later I arrived to get the food that should’ve been done however they were putting the final touches on it. I sat down at one of the tables while I waited. Luckily it’s an open kitchen format so I was able to see the cook finishing up on our order and hand it to the counter lady. At the same time she was walking my order over, a customer came to the counter so she set my food down beside her and helped the customer! Oh wow, it’s on now!
I had to wait an additional 5 mins for her to finish with the other customer when she finally had time for me to ring up my order and let me get the heck out of there! She slowly rang up my order and I paid but the look on her face told me she either didn’t want to be there or her thoughts were elsewhere.
When I got the food back and tore into my burrito, what did I find? Pico de Gallo! I was livid and confirmed with my sister what they had told her. In a sense this ruined my dinner and my opinion about them. Later on I learn that they also messed up other details with the other items in the order. I guess with this experience I have one bit of advice for the owner…
TRAIN YOUR STAFF TO LISTEN TO THEIR CUSTOMERS, KNOW THE PRODUCT AND WHAT THE CUSTOMER WANTS… simple!

Tacos! The tacos are amazing! Not much more to say about them besides nom! Nom! Nom!
The only downfall is I’ve been there twice and both times there was only two people working, one cooking and one taking and delivering orders. This made for a bit of wait, but that’s okay because the tacos are so delicious!
