David’s Bagels

The best bagels! Even though I don’t live in town anymore, I still drive here to get my Bagels. It’s nice and clean and they make the perfect bagel. The guys that work there are also very friendly. Oh and the coffee is good too. That’s rare at bagel shops in Jersey in my opinion.

This place used to have excellent bagels, but somewhere along the way they decreased their quality. Too bad — now their bagels are hard and pretty small compared to the quality they started with. Still decent bagels for the area, but my fav bagel shop is in Saddle Brook, NJ — Midland bagels! Go check them out instead!

David’s bagels is a great place to go for a beagle the beagle is crunchy and tastes supper good! The coffee and muffins are amazing two! I think that if u want a fresh good beagle David’s is the place to go!!!

I live in S. Calif, so I crave a great bagel. And David’s Bagels was fabulous! Great service, seriously delicious coffee and crunchy bagels. Thank you!

Bagels are pretty good, I like the variety of spreads. The bagel sandwiches are terrible, so underwhelming. Even Quick Chek uses more Taylor Ham!

This review is not about the bagels or coffee, it’s about the service the SERIOUS LACK OF MANAGEMENT.
I live around the corner from David’s and get coffee and bagels from here every weekend. If i didn’t go there i would have to drive a few miles to the nearest place. I used to go to Dunkin Donuts for coffee but the shopping center is a write off (long story) and they moved out.
So first and foremost the bagels and coffee are great… at least i think so. The whitefish salad is amazing and the salmon salad is on par too.
So what’s the problem you ask?
This place is run like high school kids own it.
I know most of the kids who work there and while there are a few «full time» employees there is no management. here’s my list…
The place is dirty, very dirty… but it could be cleaned easily and isn’t year after year.
The signs they put up behind the counter look like they had a kindergarten class make them… signs are dirty and disgusting.
They have a radio playing music on the counter and for the last 2 years it hasn’t been tuned in to any station… it just plays static. I want to scream at someone for just being that lazy. Tune in a station or turn it off!
The employees are always dirty looking… there clothes are covered in food, which usually means they are wiping their hands on their clothes.
There is always a line… customer service is non existent. Problem is that when 5 people come in and order 5 separate bacon & egg on a bagel, it takes 5 employees fill the order. You’ll be standing on line and all 5 employees will be watching eggs cook and talking… one will look up and notice the long line and everyone’s pissed off faces and just go back to watching the eggs.
THEY NEED 1 PERSON TO COOK AND EVERYONE ELSE WORK THE COUNTER, like every other place in the world.
There have been times where there are 15 people on line and they will have one of the counter people take their break right then and there or they will have someone restock the soda… while everyone is on line.
If there is a manager they should be fired. NO EXCUSES.
This place could be a gold mine and probably is but not by anything the owners have done.
Robert Irvine (host of Restaurant Impossible) would rip your head off if he came in here.
For the sake of the town please wake up!

I like the coffee here, they usually have a good variety and only once did I have one and it sucked. Bagels sometimes are smaller than other places Ive noticed but there good regardless. It can be annoying sometimes around lunch time or after school when its packed with loud kids yelling at the top of there lungs just to buy a Gatorade. But I have gone here many times in the mornings and never left unsatisfied with service.

This is one of the better bagel places in our area. The prices are pretty good and they have a nice selection of different types of bagels. Living in our area bagels are definitely overdone and you need to find the right place for you… this one is mine!
They have nice breakfast items, nice pastry selections and a few good desserts.
As far as the staff goes, it’s hit and miss. I was in there and had a nice and friendly person take care of me. Then I went back in a few days later, there was a line of three people being ignored and seven people working.

Poor bagels… dunkin like quality. The coffee is good though.
