My Son and I walked into Pizza Palace Starving from an eventful Day. Service was kind of Slow and getting our actual pizza was even slower. I had no idea the pizza was thick, and I mean thick crust. Totally disgusting and not worth eating. The toppings do not even go all the way to the crust, which is a good 1″ thick or better, along with the messed up square pieces they cut the pizza into. I hate pizza cut like that, it so annoying. I will never return to this establishment ever again, and would not recommend it to anyone who likes pizza, it’s totally GROSS. Do your self a favor and don’t let the fancy building fool you like it did to us. Go elsewhere! you’ll be glad you did.

Slow slow slow to get your waited on and even slower to get your food. Very pricy for what you get. I truly wish restaurants would get away from frozen crap it the worst tasting crap you can eat.

Stopped here for lunch after hiking. Food was great. I had the chicken Parmesan was so good. My husband got the personal pizza I almost stole his food was so good. My daughter had a burger just yummy. The décor was nice and waitress was so nice and attentive. Definitely on my list of repeat restaurants.

As a fan of thick crust pizza, I absolutely love Pizza Palace. They have a great tomato sauce, mixed with that thick cheese anf fluffy crust. Also reccomend their eggplant fries as an appetizer, they’ve become a favorite of mine over the years. My one complaint is that it takes a while for them to make the food when you’re there, but the staff is always friendly.

Terrible lighting. So bright your brain hurts. Telephone ringing is like being at the at&t switching station, circa 1930. Waitress was nice. My chicken grinder was okay. The chicken was dry and obviously pre grilled then warmed up. The a Gyro was bland and frozen. Do not recommend.

Meh. It’s very bland, Americanized food… And the prices, aren’t really that reasonable considering what you get. Don’t get me wrong… There’s nothing particularly wrong with the food here at Pizza Palace… However, nor is it going to be memorable for you. It’s probably consistent decent food… But when I eat out, I want something generally exceptional… Torrington actually has a fair amount of great restaurants… So Pizza Palace is not the place I ever end up.

Poor excuse for a pizza restaurant. Can’t make a thin crust because all the crusts are«pre-made»?!? Seriously? Not going back.

Obviously, we judged the place just from the look and name back when it first opened, and then proceeded to never go there. The other night, a friend suggested it as a «nicer place» then it looked, so we figured we’d stop being judgmental and go. Too bad, because it sucked, just as the look and name suggest. The pizza was the crappiest I think I’ve ever had, especially since we’re in an area with pretty good pizza. Service was as expected… just totally not worth a trip out. Places like this baffle me… why bother???

NEVERGOINGBACK!!! I ordered a side Greek tuna salad… It was $ 6.00, the size of a small soup cup, and the tuna was cut with so much bread crumbs it was pasty!!! In my opinion, the size of the salad warranted paying $ 4.00 or under, and come on guys that much bread crumbs in tuna salad to increase the profit margin is ridiculous and unappetizing… I used to own a Deli… and I would’ve been embarrassed if I served those puny portions and that quality of food for those prices

We are never coming back. We stopped by on two separate occasions… once several month ago and once just now(May 2011). Both were weekday dinner times and the place was not busy. However, the service was uncomfortably slow and the food mediocre. Everything is bland, canned, and disappointing. The pizza /calzone crust is clearly frozen. The veggies are frozen and low quality… my daughter ordered a side of broccoli and it was the stalks from a low-end prepackaged frozen broccoli topping. We ordered Jalapeño Poppers for an appetizer and they were gross… frozen, low quality, cheese paste inside, thin breading. The sauce served with calzones, pasta, and appetizers is all highly pureed, unseasoned, and obviously canned. Even their salads are blah… a bowl of lettuce topped with shredded processed mozzarella cheese and a single olive(with the pit, of course). If you’re looking for great pizza or calzones in the area head to Marano’s(about one mile north on the same road). There are a ton of other selections in Torrington for a good dinner. Again, we did give Pizza Palace a second chance six months apart from the first. However, we left genuinely disappointed both times.

For a Connecticut Pizza restaurant… it’s not all that bad. I’ve always wondered how even though it’s so close to both New York and New Jersey, Connecticut still can’t make a half-way decent pizza. Pizza Palace does a little bit in their favor with a great menu to help make up for any inclinations that the food might fall short. Their grinders are great and I must say their salads are top rate. It’s a good home-town atmosphere with a nice little bar area and friendly staff. The food is definitely very good for a pizzeria and thats what keeps us coming back, time after time.
