Best flame broiler in the Torrance. Good portions and meat is mostly hot and fully cooked. Half and Half is where it’s at. Awesome service as well!

I like Flame Broiler. Their chicken veggie bowl is satisfying. I don’t know what they marinade their chicken in but it is really good. Nothing fancy, just chicken, rice, veggies, and a little bit of green onion on top. Their special teriyaki sauce complements the food well. They actually made their bowls a little bigger recently, which I appreciate, although they raised the prices slightly. $ 7.16 for a bowl, which I think is very fair. This location is somewhat small, which I actually like because I’ve never encountered a line. Always get my food super quick. There’s a good sized parking lot. 3.5÷5 stars is correct. There is nothing about their food that will amaze you, but it is satisfying and you will enjoy your meal. Plus it is somewhat healthy. I’ll keep coming back. Note, if you save your reset from Ralph’s on the same block, there is a coupon on the back for a dollar off your meal.

[Review #143] 2016 Unilocal 100 Challenge(4⁄100) Flame Broiler is comparable to Beef Bowl except it seems healthier(protein is not fried, but«flame broiled» & chicken is skinless) & slightly costlier than its competition. I took a late lunch & couldn’t find anything in the fridge, so I trekked my way over to FB. Flame Broiler is located next to my go-to Thai restaurant, Khun 9 Thai Restaurant. There’s a small parking lot located behind the restaurant. Since it was a late lunch, I either missed the lunch crowd or this location typically is not crowded. Upon entry, I noticed the well-lit & clean dining area. Since this was my 1st time, I kept it simple & just ordered the 7 oz. chicken plate to-go. When the cashier started asking me questions, then I looked up & noticed the«order board.» You start with the order size(i.e. mini, regular, or plate) & protein/entrée(i.e. chicken, beef, the works, chicken or beef veggie in regular, or ½ + ½, ribs); white or brown rice; green onions; beverages, extras, or sides; & where you would like to eat: dine in or takeout. Simple efficiency! So efficient that my order was ready in minutes. There’s 2 places where you can load up on hot sauces, by the register or on a counter to the left of the order line. The counter was clean & well-stocked of your essentials: hot sauces, condiment containers, napkins, etc. Nothing turns me off more than a dirty, sticky counter with low or no supplies, & greasy, sticky condiment bottles; FB was c-l-e-a-n! It took me about 15-minutes to walk home. I was surprised that the rice was still piping hot, but the chicken was bordering on lukewarm. :-| The«sauce-basted» chicken was not saucy at all. I don’t mean saucy that it’s oozing liquid, but the meat was quite bland that I had to dump a lot of hot sauce on it to give it some oomph. The chicken was also somewhat dry. Maybe instead of basting the chicken, they should marinade it… by doing so, it might make the meat more tender? 7 oz. is a lot of chicken but I was super hungry(I have a little one that I’m nursing); the plate had just enough chicken & cabbage salad to fill me up. And the orange was a nice touch to cleanse my palate & ending to my quickie lunch. FB provides a quick, decent meal if you need a pick-me-up, but it’s average at best.

This is the first time I’ve ever gone into a Flame Broiler. I was looking for something quick on my way into work – it was either going to be Panda Express or here. I was also in the mood for something that consists of rice, meat, and vegetables. This place drew me into picking up a bowl of rice. Located right off Hawthorne, there’s no problem with parking. There was no line right before lunch either. I ordered the meal that consists of all the goods – sorry, I can’t remember the name of it. It was half chicken, half beef, and vegetables, with white rice on the lower layer. I had my order to go since I was in a rush. Plan was to have it for lunch at the office. From the outside, it looks delicious, with the whole thing laid out in a bowl. I probably should’ve heated it up, but eating it as is, the beef tasted a bit dry, and the vegetables seem like it was straight out of the frozen bag. I guess I can’t complain much because after all, I didn’t pay much, but a little effort in steaming the vegetables would’ve helped. Then again, I can’t say for sure whether it was microwaved or steamed. It would’ve helped if I had a bit more of sauce because mixing it with the rice seemed a bit too dry. Seemed like there was more rice than the meat. I haven’t compared this to say, a Yoshinoya bowl, but I don’t think there’s much of a difference. I think I’d go with Panda next time. Can’t go wrong with rice, orange chicken, and some beef and broccoli. Sorry guys, I’m not so sure if I can give you another try. Overall grade: B– /C+

My eight year old son had lunch here and received food poisoning from the food here. Vomitting, diarrhea and stomach pain led me to write this review. My son states he will never eat at flame broiler ever again. Tried to give this place a zero star rating but to post this review needed to give it at least one star.

If you read my last incident you will see why I haven’t returned to eat here as well as my family. As stated before I would literally order for me and my family at least once a week but not no more. Finding a metal strip object in my child food is a serious matter but nobody with this franchised in the upper chain cared to respond about it. I have literally taken my business to Rascals. If you are reading this Flame Broiler take the needed steps to insure no metal pieces are cooked up in your food.

I’ve been coming here for several years. Great food and service, but recently I’ve noticed now the portions are 1⁄3 less. I thought maybe it was a one time occurrence but I’ve been there 3 times in the past 3 weeks and it’s the same thing. The works bowl and chicken veggie bowls are filled well below the rim of the container. They must be in distress because how can they think a regular customer would not notice this. I’m not visiting this location anymore because who knows what else they are cutting back on and if they are trying to extend food life too. I’m not taking any chances. There are plenty of other choices in old Torrance with more integrity.

Update — This location does have the«hot-hot» sauce. It is found in a squeeze bottle to the left of the cashier. Other locations have a self-serve pump for it.

The place is clean. Food is good. There’s chicken and beef. But the server talks to fast and almost soubded like he is mumbling. I dont get why the people who works at fast food to get the orders have to talk so fast.

this location has continued to decline in both in the quality of the food they serve as well as the service they provide. This location constantly water downs their sauce and they over cook their food.

Well, Well, Well. What do we have here? A Five star? From me? Yes my good readers, you are correct! I’ll say i’ve been to this location about 10 times. Well, 11 after today. My rating of 5 stars is for the following: Location:… small but adequate. And CLEAN Prices… VERY budget friendly Menu… Simple and to the point. You know exactly what you are getting Food Portion… You will be full and very satisfied. I can never eat the whole bowl in one sitting. Food Quality… Taste Fresh each and every time. If you’ve read any of my other reviews, you will know I am a stickler for Consistency. So far this Flame broiler has passed all of my critical points. So until that changes, They have earned a 5 star in my book. Everyone is polite and friendly. Very respectable and patient! Food comes out quick and is always piping hot. Condiments are available to take with you. And i always get extra green onions. Are you hungry yet?

I’ve been to many Flame Broiler locations. This one in my opinion is the best location in the South Bay. Service good, food prepped here so much better then other locations. A big pet peeve of gristle and this place doesn’t have it in my experience! Magic sauce, hot sauce, bomb!

I happened to be in the area of this Flame Broiler yesterday(03-17-2014) and figured I would stop in for lunch. This location is located on the corner of W. Carson Street & Arlington Ave and offers its own dedicated parking lot for patrons. As I was driving to this location I looked at the time and it was the heart of lunch hour so I figured it might be difficult finding parking but it was not. I walked in and found the restaurant extremely busy with quite a line but it moved quickly. As I waited for my turn to order I looked around at the table and found them all to clean, the condiment section to be clean and the drink station to be spotless. The floors of this establishment was spotless and that is quite impressive with the amount of foot traffic. I did not get a chance to walk into the bathroom to check the cleanliness but will make a point of it for my next visit. My turn arrived quickly and it was time to order. I was helped by an extremely friendly & helpful cashier ‘Teresa.’ I ordered a ‘works’ bowl with brown rice, veggies, extra green onions, no sauce and the chicken & steak cooked well done. I was handed my receipt, advised of my order number and then sat down and waited for my order. Surprisingly with the amount of patrons and the time of day(lunch) my food was ready quickly. My number was called and I was handed a ‘to go’ bag containing my food. I felt the bottom of the bowl and could tell right away that my order was cooked perfectly based on the temperature. I took my ‘works’ bowl back to work and even after a 10 minute drive of so the food was still piping hot. The food itself was cooked to perfection. The rice had the perfect consistency to it, the veggies were hot but still had that crunch to them, they loaded on the green onions as requested and the chicken & beef was outstanding. I have only visited one other Flame Broiler before and it is nice to see these chains popping up and offering the healthy option. It is also nice to see the consistency in the quality of food from one location to another. Without question I will be stopping by here a lot more often. If you happen to be in the area and looking for that healthy option look no further than the«Flame Broiler.’

I don’t think the food is expensive because I can get a plate like The Works and have it for lunch and dinner. Yay for zero transfat and no msg… I’ll be back.

I came here on a whim because it was a) 6pm aka dinnertime and b) on the way to a friend’s house. I ordered a mini beef bowl with brown rice and onions on top for myself and a regular bowl with the works(chicken, beef, and veggies) on white rice for my boyfriend. I don’t exactly know what I was expecting because teriyaki in general is kind of generic at most places and because it is «healthier» than other places. The chicken wasn’t that great, but the beef was good! The mini bowl was surprisingly filling enough for me, as I do typically eat smaller portions. The most unhealthy part was probably the magic sauce. It was a little dry without it, so of course, I put some in my mini bowl. I also decided to «splurge»(in a way) and get the bowl of kimchi. I say it’s a splurge because it was $ 2 for a bowl of it, and honestly it’s much cheaper at home. But I really wanted some to eat with my bowl, so I went with it. It’s the type of kimchi I personally like, which was good for me. It was a solid meal and I’d probably come back for more. That being said, I don’t think I would ever CRAVE the food here or REALLYWANT to come back here. For example… Friend: What do you want to eat? Me: Flame Broiler! NOT.

«No MSG! No Skin! No Frying! No Transfat!» Reading those phrases on The Flame Broiler posters, I was definitely intrigued. I love good, healthy eats and The Flame Broiler looked like a promosing place for this. I came to The Flame Broiler with some coupons that came from the mail. I used a $ 1 off coupon for«The Works» bowl. «The Works» bowl comes with chicken, beef and steamed veggies. I chose to get it with brown rice versus white rice. I was pleasantly pleased that getting brown rice over white rice did not cost any more. Not having to pay extra for brown rice is a rarity nowadays. I got The Flame Broiler magic sauce on the side. I also got the spicy sauce on the side. «The Works» bowl was really good! It was nice to see that the bowl had it’s fair share of chicken and beef on top of the brown rice and veggies. Both the chicken and the beef were flavorful but I liked the chicken the best. It was tender and very tasty. The veggies were good but the cabbage was a tiny hard. I did dip the veggies and chicken in the magic sauce but the sauce was not very«magical» for me. I felt the sauce was a bit on the salty side. The spicy sauce was better in my opinion than the regualr sauce. I felt the spicy sauce had a hint of tabasco. Honestly I was fine with my bowl without the sauces. It’s tasty enough to not need the sauce. It was my first at The Flame Broiler and I found the bowl I ate very fulfilling. It’s actually surprisng in how good it is and how much food they packed in that bowl! I will be back!

I was hoping this place would be good, but it wasn’t. The meat was way overcooked and dry for my taste. I was really disappointed that the ceiling was dripping right above our table from a rusted corner of the air conditioning vent and when I told the manager she clearly knew about the problem but didn’t care. When I told her some of that rusty water could easily drip on someone’s food she just said«okay» and dismissed me. In short, the food here is nothing special and the service is mediocre. I say, skip it!

Good stuff. You get a nice full bowl for your money. White or brown rice on the bottom. If you get veggies, they will be next on top followed by whatever meat you picked. I go with the white meat chicken. You can also get green onions to finish it off. And don’t forget to add you own amount of magic sauce and magic hot sauce. They actually have quite a bit of parking. Something rare in this area. And there are enough tables inside to find one empty or sit outside in the small patio. It’s clean fresh and good.
